  • Installing a new brake rotor and pads on your Yamaha Rhino is a great way to stay on top of the maintenance required for smooth performance out on the trails. Tusk brake rotors are the perfect replacement solution whether you are replacing a bent or worn out rotor, or you're just wanting to upgrade your current brakes to something with better performance. It's also a good idea to replace your brake pads at the same time you replace the brake rotor because the old brake pads are going to be worn down in the shape of the old rotor and could reduce your brake performance if left on with the new rotor. In this video Charles shows how to replace the rear brake rotor on a Yamaha Rhino 450 or 660.

Do you happen to know what type of bolt is used to connect the diff to the brake rotor?

Easier than pulling the hub and removing the cv axle from the wheel hub. Simply pull both control arms and remove the entire wheel hub and axle assembly. The bearings are sealed so no use greasing, if there’s no use greasing why take it apart. Other than that great video

Yes, you have to remove the rear gearcase to replace the rotor. If you can get the driveline off without doing that, then go for it. This is the easiest way I know of though, I do like the tip in the comment below. -Charles
