this song was the song my bsf played me when we first met. the first day i met him, he said "hey, wanna hear my fav song?" i agreed and he started playing this on his tv. he started dancing around the room singing it, then i joined in. now its my fav song and i listen to it every day just to remind myself about the first day i met him. i remember it like it was yesterday. god i miss when we lived close to each other and when we would go over to each others houses 24/7 just to hang out and listen to this song. we made so many good memories. im sad that its all ending now that we are older.

No one asked for me to say this but I think this song is about a dude who was bullied so he ran away and found a crush (idk his sexuality) and he was telling them how much he hates himself and about how perfect they are. For example how he dreams of them almost every night and he doesnt want to wake up (hopefully I wont wake up this time) not in a suicidal way in a way that he just doesnt want the dream to end because he loves the dreams.

I’m sure someone who does studies this stuff but there must be a reason why this song just gives that feeling of nostalgia so heavily to a lot of people. I have heard this song before, but I never actively listened to it, I literally just found out the name of it. But it still feels like I have heard this song hundreds of times before. For me, my chest feels kinda heavy and I just feel happy about something that was a while ago (despite not having any deep memories tied with the song as far as I am aware) it’s a very strong feeling. I’m not going to pretend I know the reason why but I want to take a shot in the dark it’s the repetition of the song and how simple it is and the words the say are like one at a time/ there is a pause in between? This song makes me feel so much nostalgia and think about just how perfect my life was... Almost everyday was fun and it seemed like the sun was always shining and I felt so loved, but then 2020 and COVID-19 hit and everything came crashing down. I lost two loved ones right before, too, so that only made things so much worse on top of having to stay inside all day. Things have started to get better after two years, but i know they’ll never be the same. I guess now I just need to learn to make the most of the present and embrace the future.
