I think they're talking about accepting there might be an afterlife, or there might not be, and the only thing you have control over is how you live your life. Either you can choose to live a boring life, or you could live a life of fun, but in the end you'll know what you wanted to do. I feel the same way kinda.

I remember playing this song on repeat in the backround while on the game with some friends of mine thinking, "one day im gonna come back to this song and think of that same day" And here I am doing so. All of those friends of mine are now not my friends anymore and we have drifted apart on both good and bad terms. But even if some of those friends ended on bad terms, I still hold those memories dear to me. This song truly makes me wish I was a young kid again doing reckless stuff and just having fun with friends not caring what would happen in the future.

My family is pre-desposed to dementia. So unfortunately it's something I'll probably have to deal with one day. Most people who suffer from memory loss remember their favorite music for the longest time of any type of memory. All this goes to say this may very well be the last thing I remember if one day everything else fades. And I'm okay with that. Beautiful song

2: how can you slow the process of memory loss? Eat well and exercise are the best options
There's always the chance that I and anyone else who's at risk for memory loss don't get effected by it as they age but it's always a gamble. To anyone else in my situation. Stay strong. Science is working on it. Hopefully one day we won't have to worry about it anymore!

I absolutely adore this songs underlying philosophical tone behind the immaculately upbeat and exhuberant progression. To me this song hits at face value, when you just absorb the lyrics and their immediate meaning.. to draw that vivid connection. Life is fragile, we all want comfort in it, some choose to live it for each and every new day, some fear the passage of time. No matter where you fall on life's spectrum of choice freedom, it's momentary and beckons you with a frail call. Each silent reminder much like the last, conveying that it can't last forever no matter how oblivious you may become to the innate certainty. One facet of the song that I'd imagine some people would've glossed over are the lyrics clearly referencing the proposition of eternal life through "salty" decades of devout worship to reach that final goal. Now I may have drawn that connection myself, perhaps with a hint of bias surfacing my interpretation, nonetheless the blatant grey area feels almost naturally there for you to reach a similar epiphany despite it not having said that directly. I'm essentially going full circle here trying to piece together the almost story like picture that is being described. Moving on, it very clearly attempts at illustrating 'falsehoods' claimed as indisputable truth in old 'letters' or scriptures. Anyone else catch onto any of the subtle undertones paving religious contradiction? To wrap, I suppose the song in one collective thought, is that there is no proper expectation to be had, lies for comfort isn't what this life is about, what's right in front of you is all you get. Now that I know the lyrics, I appreciate this song even more. It's a song about mortality, being present and enjoying every moment, because you'll never get another one quite like it again. It's a song of acceptance, coming-of-age, to the realization that most people lie to themselves and spend "salty" decades, worshipping and hoping for a reward from god, in the form of an afterlife. It exposes the fragile human spirit, that needs to believe in something, to "calm" itself, so it ends up falling for simple lies. Ultimately, it is a happy song, about how beautiful it all is and what a shame to be wasted in hopes of something that isn't there. So, the message to be taken from it, is to live your life right now, don't wait for another moment to come by, because things will never be the same and you'll only live them once.
