Today, we have a population crammed into cities, by design, who have descended into ever-deepening tribalism that is mostly premised on the rhetoric of whatever partisan political ideology we believe is most "on our side". Left and right can NEVER agree. They are sworn enemies because they are coming from two completely different, and diametrically opposed, moral systems of thought and visions of what happens to us when we die, if anything at all. That is why the world seems crazy. It's not crazy, it's just operating on a new moral value system that is the newest outcrop of nihilism and existentialism. If we continue on this path, where we cannot compromise and, first and foremost, negotiate a common value system, we have nowhere to go but extinction. It is sad to see a world class intellectual on air in his dotage. Someone should tactfully suggest that he get a shave and haircut. He should be advised to wear a suit, shirt and tie. He should be advised gently to " stay in his academic lane". Then we could hear whether Chomsky still has anything to contribute to discussion.
As is typical of people like you, your comment is void of particular critique, and amounts to simple insult. If you claim Chomsky is wrong about something (which is hardly impossible), why not articulate some kind of analysis or counterargument?

I consider it reasonable as someone who has government and politics qualifications through UK gce, Advanced level, first degree, and post-graduate levels to consider whether a world class scientist is presenting himself nowadays in a manner likely to be taken seriously by politicians.

It's great to see Chomsky covering human extinction but he's a lifetime too late. I knew we were done years ago and there won't be a human left in a bunker by 2026. He's still not fully informed or aware of how bad things are and how quickly things will fall apart.
