- SR 34067 Tangmere was the motive power for todays 1st Scarborough Spa Express of the season from Carnforth to Scarborough and return, we see 34067 with eight on including five Riviera blue grey coaches and 47802 assisting from the rear from Starricks Farm and near Docker Park, thanks to Steve for the lift and crack this morning and thanks for watching.
Good coverage of the Bulleid putting on an impressive show yet again well done Nige, thanks Brian
Thanks Brian, unfortunately most of the effort was from the rear due to the possible fire risk, cheers nige👍
Nige, It's a good job Tangmere has been reliable this year. Great captures. Regards, John
Thanks John, very true there John otherwise we’d be having quite a few diesel tours, regards nige👍
Excellent footage there Nige of Tangmere going to sunny Scarborough.
Thanks Andrew and thanks for watching, cheers 👍
Another great video Nige.
Thanks Alistair, had tried Midland Shed first but to overgrown, cheers 👍
Very nice video, great shots
Thanks Mathew, unfortunately being well assisted due to fire risk which was to be expected, cheers 👍
Super video of Tangmere Nige. 🙂👍👍
Thanks Allan and thanks for watching, cheers nige.
Yes Nige, its Tangmere again, but nice locations again much better view at Starricks than i remember last year, came back early but didn't venture out as it was wet and came dark soon . 👍
Thanks Steve, we tried Midland Shed first but that’s well overgrown now so did Starricks and Docker Park, I didn’t venture out for the return either and just as well with it running that early, cheers 👍
Mishmash special right there. Good vids 🍻
@@RailwayTavern Thanks Ian, wasn’t it just, cheers 👍
Amazing the difference to the sound with jointed track. You don't often hear that these days.
Thanks Dave, that’s the beauty of this line it takes you back to how it was, cheers 👍
Very nice Nige. She looked as though she was struggling at first, on the bank!
Thanks Alan, the diesel was doing most of the work there due to lineside fires the previous day down south, cheers 👍
Nice shots Nige, a really light load but at least it ran
Thanks Austin, yes that was the main thing and with the fires the previous day down south assistance was always expected, cheers 👍
Great video Nige
Thanks Josh, glad you enjoyed watching, cheers nige👍
Good filming, not seen many shots in the Docker area.👍
Thanks David, guaranteed a whistle at Docker Park as there’s a foot crossing, cheers 👍
Good shots as always Nige.
We were aboard and I have to say we were more than a bit disappointed with the chosen stock. This may have been a last minute change as all the coach and seat numbers were not as per the tickets which were only confirmed a couple of days before. With non opening double glazed windows we couldn't hear the loco or enjoy the nostalgic smells of steam and coal. Just didn't feel right and spoilt the experience. If West Coast persist in not upgrading their MK1 stock so they comply with the rules (no matter how unfair) then I can see a fall off in support from steam fans. Best to check on the stock before making future bookings with West Coast.
Also we could feel the diesel pushing at the back which explains the almost full coal load on arrival in Scarborough. This may well have been due restrictions being imposed because of the lineside fire caused by a Black 5 down South the day before.
Thanks Mark, sorry to hear your day was disappointing due to the stock which was being used as these coaches are certainly not ideal for a steam tour, for the main part of your journey you want to experience the sounds and smell and bits of soot on your table as the loco is working, as you rightly say people will be reluctant to book whilst this stock is in use which maybe ok for a diesel tour but not steam, the locations that we did you can normally hear the loco well before you see it but not this time which pointed to the fact the work was from the rear, unfortunately everything was against you on this one with the stock and the possible fire risk so hopefully the Mk1s return soon, regards nige
Good video Nige :)
Thanks Simon, cheers 👍
Another appearance for tangmere I believe
Thanks Scott, yes keeping her busy, cheers 👍

Thanks Philip much appreciated as always, next one should be the Fellsman on wednesday, cheers 👍
Wondered if you would be in the Starricks Farm, Docker area , hence going up to Bentham.
At least it stayed dry for us.
We went to Midland Shed first but it’s well overgrown now so moved to Starricks, it was wet coming down the motorway but luckily cleared out.
Very interesting quite a small train for WCR. Is it 47802 on the rear!?
Thanks Jimmy, yes that’s what I thought as it’s normally between 10 and 13 depending on the loco so whether it’s shortage of stock, yes it was 47802 on the rear, cheers 👍
