😂😂 I’m laughing because I just thought of the idea of making my own garri at home instead of making a trip to African market each time. I thought, if anyone has recipes for making garri from scratch, it’s going to be on CZcams. I HONESTLY didn’t expect to find a video, a very detailed one at that, showing how to make yours. THANK YOU! I de go buy my own cassava now.

So, how do we get it ready for eating? We don't have garri in Uganda. We just have cassava flour, which we either mix with millet or sorghum flour and mingle bread out of the flour with boiling water, or we use for making snacks called kabalagala (Ugandan pan cakes), or it's mingled alone in boiling water to make a kind of bread. (Our cassava is simply peeled, chopped into pieces bigger than what the blender required, sun dried and milled into flour.)
How do I prepare Garri ready to eat from the flour above? I would like to make it; I love the fact that starch is squeezed out

You boil hot water, when the hot water is fully boiled you measure one cup of garri into a small water that will just be same measurement with the garri (make sure the garri is leveled up with water of equal amount )Set aside for 5 minutes then turn/mix it. You can eat with any soup of he choice!
      Am here in Uganda
Note: you can add more hot water after its too strong for you to swallow

@@uchannel7892 Oh my goodness! I'm excited that hear this from you. Many thanks for appreciating my work and I hope things go perfectly well for you and your team.
But do bear in mind that if you intend to produce the garri in a bigger quantity then you will need a bigger frying pan and utensils etc.
Also, the method for producing large scale garri is slightly different from this.

the further pressing after the fermentation that is done usually is omitted here maybe because it is only a small quantity so it is easy to remove the water by toasting the gari on fire. For larger quantities you definitely need a press
