Skydio 2 Dual Charger Firmware Update and New Functionality

In this video, we are taking a look at the Skydio 2 Dual Charger and its recent firmware update that adds some new functionality. With the recent update, you can now use the second USB-C port as a pass-through to charge accessories such as the beacon, controller, or a smartphone. The new firmware update also allows you to use a Skydio 2 Battery and the dual charger together as a power bank. I demonstrate these new features in action as well as show you how to update the firmware on the Skydio 2 Dual Charger.
Update: Since I recorded this video I noticed when charging 2 batteries using the dual charger it appears as it is charging both batteries simultaneously instead of one at a time while using the stock cable and charger. I will do some more research into this.

This is a pretty solid firmware upgrade. I knew the case landing was probably in the works, since the way the logo was printed on top of the flat case it just looked like a landing pad. Nice video, and great information.

Yeah, I found it finally.
Skydio and Promate Capital 30 are meant to be together! Just bought this huge powerbank for 30,000 mAh with 60W usb-c PD charge. This thing charged my Skydio battery in about an hour 👍👍👍

Mine didn't turn green either, but the update completed and it works GREAT! I love how the Beacon now will go out 40 metres from me whilst tracking. And also how the S2 lands on the CASE. I've ordered a vinyl "Skydio Logo" for the tonneau on my truck, for it to land on without using the case.

Great uodate, but I'd like to see more Waypoints on the Cable Cam. I works superbly, but 6 Waypoints plus would be great for those not just doing Follow Me.

You update the firmware on the beaten in the same manner. Just plug it into the Skydio 2 drone and it won’t update the Beacon. Also I do believe if you connect the beacon wirelessly to the Skydio 2 it will push the firmware update that way as well

Sean after firmware update my dual charger my batteries dont get full charge all day been charging and 4th LED still blinking any idea why? battery on the drone get fully 100% charged

What is the power output limit on the power bank? is it Quick charge? (I doubt it) Is it a 1 amp limit? I cant find this info anywhere.

Off top but don’t you know if it’s possible to charge Skydio batteries through dual charger using powerbank as a source? I tried so and left for 2 hours but mounted-in Amp meter show only 0.45 Amps as a charging current which is too low….I hoped for 2 Amps as it is while charging a phone.

Its a year later, but i have succesfully charged 2 skydio 2 batteries on the dual charger, from a 100w output powerbank (goal zero 100PD) and it output at 95W for both and then down to 77W when the first pack was topped off. This came out to about the entire 100wh capacity of the powerbank getting dumped into the skydio batteries in about 55minutes.
I then learned the dual charger OUTPUT is only 8w... so recharging my powerbank again will take a bit longer.
