Did you know? The "How Good was Gengar" video is the 7th most popular video on this channel. But despite this being one of the first videos in the series on a popular Mon with a storied competitive history, said video is only 10 minutes long. This is a petition to get a "How Great was Gengar Actually?" video made.
Petition signed
Probably next Halloween

The results won't make you happy 💀

Y'all remember when FSG didn't civer Gen 7 because "the meta was too new"?
Time flies.
You used nostalgia on me!
İts super effective!
Fr tho time really does fly
Mega Salamence, Metagross, Tyranitar and Swampert didnt have Gen 7 reviews 😿
Wait is this the first Gen 7 Poke covered by FSG?
@@r0w5tortion84 it's the 3rd. First was decidueye second was dramp
I want Gen 7 back...
As both Nicholas Cage and the OU Council said: “NO NOT THE BEES, AAAAAAAH”
He's the same dude who single-handedly cracked the code on the declaration of the independence too of course, they listened to him.
LoL so true 😂
Didnt one of the ou council members get beaten using a anihalape when fighting temp6t using a level 1 lechonk?
Hey jestin
@@rexyjp1237 temp6t is just constructed with unusual parameters
Genesect 🤝 Naganadel
Being a Banned Pokemon that is only checked by Heatran
Goes to show how important heatran is despite having common weakness. Another example is ttar
Fun fact: every UB has all of their base stat numbers be prime numbers.
Except for Naganadel. Naganadel has one base stat whose value is not a prime number, and it’s the only one like that, and they haven’t fixed it in two generations.
I was cursed with this knowledge, and now I’m paying it forward.
Yeah, 121 as that’s 11^2.
i think it used to have 151 speed but then lost 30 points to make it less broken
@@amanojaku4252 ehhh its BST is 540 total which very much is Starter Pokemon territory which its supposed to be
Lol, I was wondering why I saw so many prime numbers.
@@screwtokaiba Other UB have 570 BST.
I think it’s very interesting how out of all the UBs, the one that’s the ‘starter’ of the UB world is one of the strongest.
well there have been some fully evolved starters that been quite broken to. speed boost blaziken, protean greninja (and battle bond) and libero cinderace all ended up in ubers. i doubt protean greninja and libero cinderace will be ubers in gen 9 with how they changed those abilitys though. mascarada is still in ou. its good there but its not to the extenct where its to strong like protean and libero was for greninja and cinderace.
if blaziken apears it might be broken however, simularly to the emu/oustritch that got banned not long ago together with chien pao
@@baldrian22 blaziken and espathra are wildly different though. espathra got stronger and unwallable the longer it stayed on the field, boosting its stored power each time. blaziken is just a very strong mon who gets faster and faster, but you can almost certainly get rid of him. skeledirge in particular will keep it in check singlehandedly.
@@rock6450 right, forgot about mons like skeledirge now. its also dondozo.
@@baldrian22 applaud the Clod
The concept of Beedrills and Butterfrees from another dimension being absolute world-destroying monsters in another is such an interesting concept. I hope they expand on it.
It has the lowest BST of all fully evolved UBs but proves to be one of the strongest due to stat distribution, Nasty Plot and perfect coverage with its STABs + Fire moves (not counting Flash Fire Heatran, but even it can be overwhelmed due to lack of recovery).
One of my favorite ones as well.
Honestly, my favorite UBs are a tossup between Naganadel, Kartana, and Blacephalon. Naganadel's design is really nice, and I especially like its typing, Kartana is an absolutely busted attacker, and Blacephalon is fun because of its sheer potential + one of my favorite type combos, ghost + fire.
@@dylanpalmer5151 Blacephalon is cool design wise and has very good offensive stats. If it gets Ground, Fairy or Fighting coverage it’ll be more imposing. It has Solar Beam but it’s a two turn move.
Kartana is also another UB I like, and it’s incredibly strong too and has decent physical bulk.
Proof that BST isn't everything, a good typing + above average ou offenses will carry you to ubers.
Fun fact: it's also the only one who has a stat the isn't a prime number: its 121 base speed.
@@SakhotGamer More like proof that Total BST is nothing without good Stat Distribution
Yes, i'm looking at you Mixed Attackers and pokemon with Higher Defense Stats than HP
Funny thing about Naganadel, is that its BST is actually lower than the other Ultra Beasts.
Its BST is 540, while the other Ultra Beasts (Nihilego, Buzzwole, Guzzlord, Stakataka, etc.) all have a BST of 570.
Yet it still ended up being one of the two broken ones alongside Pheromosa.
Proves that stat spread is probably far more important to a Pokemon's viability in most cases than actual BST. Another point of proof: Urshifu. BST is 550, lower than the non-Uber legendary Pokemon standard of 580 and 600, yet is a mon that has historically been bordering on the broken territory constantly, while some of the 580 and 600 legendary Pokemon has been languishing in the lower tiers (Lake Spirits, Regi Trio, Articuno, etc.).
Clodsire too, only 430 and even with that because his good stat distribution is a good mon
It also helps when the pokemon has a great ability and typing.
Guzzlord has a hilariously depressing stat distribution that makes Wailord laugh in water spouts.
@@butteredsalmonellaI wouldn’t say it’s as bad as Guzzlord as the latter has base 223 HP but the rest of its stats range from terrible to decent.
Buzzwole at least has half of its stats being good and an almost okay speed stat.
@@IgnitedQuils at least buzzwole can be a tank with its niche typing unlike certain someone
Naganadel is kinda creepy when it shows that ultra beasts can potentially evolve. Imagine if any of the other ones got bigger. A guzzlord evolution would be horrifying. Love the Ultra Beasts and the totally alien feel they provide (alongside Deoxys and Clefable).
Clefable ?
@@louayker4249 "Because of its unusual, star-like silhouette, people believe that it came here on a meteor." Pokedex entry for Cleffa. Many of the entries talk about it's relationship to outer space.
@@golemofwill4728 You can add Starmie to the list
I need Mega Guzzlord in my life
Now instead of being horrified by Ultra Beasts evolving, imagine some of them are already evolved and have Prevos
Still my all-time favorite ultra beast. The design, the typing, the moveset, the stats, it all works wonderfully.
Easily top 10 best pokemon designs of all 9 generations.
Probably the only ultra beast I like.
Yes
Same, love the typing since Dragalge line existed in Gen 6. Just like Gliscor from Gen 4 for me, Poipole and Naganandel also got my thumbs up started on the anime especially when Naganandel returned for the final tournament battle, the vs tapu koko section was nuts!
And to think when I was young and dumb, I thought the typing wouldn't work even in an era of fairies!
I remember apart of it's ban in gen 7 was because pokemon showdown's implementation of hidden power that accidentally gave it hp fighting even though it's actually impossible to get hp fighting on it.
The reason being is that because of the feature implemented since gen 6 where legendary mons would have 3 or more max ivs when caught, this put ut outside of the threshold of getting hp fighting.
I think commas are important
@@andreescalona8902 Yes they are however, I wasn't trying to write an essay in a youtube comment
my dumbass was about to ask "what's so important about hp fighting?" and then remembered that it's *only* check in ou was tyranitar.
@@3eve0n Yup
Soooo glad that HP nonsense is gone. If it ever comes back, they need to just allow it to be changed at will. But then you essentially have any type on any mon, which is a big reason why they nixed it. I hated, hated, HATED how hidden power was implemented. Fun for casual play throughs though.
Our first Ultra Beast Pokemon and it was an absolute menace
Can't wait to see my boy Guzzlord, him and his beautiful song known as... "AAAAAHHHHHH!! AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!"
I had no idea this Pokémon existed but as a beedrill lover this is now one of the coolest Pokémon to me
Then you check out it's shiny :]
@@iTerra_ LETS GOOO I DIDN’T KNOW THAT THANK YOU HAHA, THAT’S TOTALLY A BEEDRILL REFERENCE, or at least a bee/wasp reference lol
Beedril flew so that naganadel could soar
@@scrumt9284 sadly. Gamefreak did distribute a free Shiny Naganadel in USUM (I got one). I wish you luck to shiny hunt it.
I love how FSG has consistently been covering mons that have only been out for a couple generations and are _still_ able to make lengthy videos out of it.
Game freak made this Pokémon not only a broken mon in competitive but also gave it one of the best shiny’s in the game
Man. I remember having to shiny hunt Poipole (not knowing that the Shiny Charm worked zilch on it). Took me three months and two paperback novels to finally get the adorable thing.
How GOOD was Aegislash ACTUALLY or we riot, we need the sword and shield prequel
Can we just appreciate the quality of FSG's videos and how hard they work to provide us with all public knowledge on competitive Pokemon? Can't say FSG without the G, thank you!
Can we just appreciate the time and effort he puts into his generic comment ?
-🤖
“When it got a KO, it’s speed increased.”
Meanwhile my Naganadel, due to it having a slightly higher Sp. Attack, it effectively had Moxie.
Why would you want that when thing gets nasty plot tho. And it doesn't get agility
Kinda wish the video clarified that Beast Boost boosts the highest stat the Pokémon has, and since Naganadel ran a Timid nature, Speed would be boosted.
@@lessgochamp646
That’s literally how it’s stats ended up. I don’t remember if I knew how to properly EV train at the time, but I remember it’s two highest stats were Special Attack and Speed with it’s Special Attack being just slightly higher. You’re right, competitively it probably won’t be very good but in game it was a monster.
@@lessgochamp646 It gets tailwind to boost speed.
@@megamegasaurtailwind is a terrible move
This is longer than the original TTar vid, which was a "long one" back then. FSG has truly come a long way
I remember they cut off that video early because they "didn't want it to go too long".
@moonjelly5 the ttar remake will be like 4 hours long
@@GoofyGoldenRetriever1 The TTar remake will be like the uncut LOTR Trilogy.
"As to with it's excellent design; which is a dragon with a wasp like abdomen"
Straight up always thought it looked like a turkey baster to me
I recall people saying it wasn't broken because Av Ttar or SpDef Heatran could beat it, you could tell they had no idea when +2 Devastating Drake took away most of their health, and they had no recovery
What’s wrong with the latter? Shouldn’t a mon have weaknesses?
@@skeetermania3202 No recovery on Ttar or heatran meant that even though they could take one or two hits, they wouldn't be able to do it consistently. The Naganadel user could easily switch it out and send in a mon to handle either of them before just sending it back in (which has the added benefit of removing any potential special attack drops from draco meteor), and since the opposing ttar or heatran was already weakened, it likely wouldn't be able to withstand another hit to hinder Naganadel further, giving it free reign to sweep. Plus, since only assault vest ttar was actually capable of threatening Naganadel back, it effectively only had one true safe counter, and if there's only one safe counter, it's easy to exploit that to allow Naganadel to destroy everything anyway.
@@Wreckbot_ Even with recovery, they still wouldn’t be able to switch in.
@@skeetermania3202 yeah, they'd just get blown up on the switch and then outsped and KO'd. i think i might've just misinterpreted your original comment too lol.
James Turner designed Naganadel pretty well. Can't wait for its return in Gen 9
Its inevitable for a Pokemon with Legendary-like rarity
As a huge fan of Dragon Pokémon, it’s always nice to see a dragon that stands a chance against the deadly wrath of fairy types
I wish they would include Ultra Beasts in the future : the concept of Mons from different dimensions is so cool and the creative possibilities it allows is just potentially endless. I love how the UB:s look genuinely alien and intimidating, Guzlord alone is more terrifying to me than any cover legendary
I wait patiently for the day when Poipole is allowed in Little Cup
it's so sick that if you look at naganadel's body from the front it makes the hazmat symbol
gamefreak absolutely snapped on this mon all around
I am still rather surprised on how you haven't made Incineroar and Primarina the second and third Alolan Pokémon that you make videos about their history in the Competitive Pokémon battles.
Tbf, Incineroar would be a long one since his presence in VGC is HUGE
Incineroar: The Movie. Let my wrestle daddy shine in a feature length. ♥ v ♥
He still needs to do Chesnaught.
@@DukeSR8 I love the design of chesnaught but he had very little going for him compared to the water starter.
Using Naganadel in VGC is one of the things that made me absolutely love special-attacking Poison types, with Glimmora being one of my favourites in the current generation.
One of the sickest designs imo, I love this pokemon, and it's shiny is very dope too
I positively adore Naganadel. Not only is its wasp/dragon design appealing, but it helped me wreak absolute carnage on the Battle Tree.
I have a Shiny Naganadel in US waiting to get transferred to Violet. It served me well in the Battle Tree running a Dragonium-Z set for its Devastating Drake being like a Draco Meteor that didn't lower its stats and didn't have the chance to miss.
I don't know why but I need a "how good was terrakion actually?"
Man is either amazing or trash depending on if you can land a stone edge.
Throwing my suggestion in there, Drifblim!
Was looking to see how I wanted to buff it in a RomHack, and was surprised to find you didn't already have a video on it!
So this means we have a chance at seeing the other UB’s on this channel, fantastic!
I was partway through this video when I found a Shiny Poipole!
Congrats man
This episode reminded me of how much we NEED a Tyranitar remake, one truly fit for the OU king.
Please FSG, make it happen, for the people!
"Corporate needs you to find the difference between this picture and this picture."
*Shows a picture of Naganadel and Genesect*
They're the same picture
Neat analysis video! Thanks for uploading!
I am so glad that I hunted for Shiny Poipole in Ultra Moon. Naganadel has been with me ever since. By far my favorite Ultra Beast, and quite possibly my favorite Pokémon ❤️❤️❤️
The most valid opinon in the world, I first saw it in the anime after loving poipole a tonne in it. Immediatly bought ultra moon despite prefering solgaleo (I bought Sun, instead of moon) just cause blue and purple matched it better, My fav pokemon that has been my fav ever since even if the rest of my top 10 changes. Naganadel never does
I can't count how many times I sweeped players on showdown with Naganadel I love the grape dragon
can we get an "how good was zygarde actually" vid, i think it is one of the most interesting legendary's out there
If only naganadel had 131 base speed. It only not only make all of it's base stats all prime numbers to be consistent with other ultra beasts, it would also get the jump on eternatus.
Yeah but then it would have to follow mega ray to anything goes
@@gabrielchee8470not true.
thanks for another video!!
I have been waiting for this
I'm glad to see the first ultra beast to be analyzed. I can't wait to see the other ones be analyzed.
Naganadel is one of the few pokemon from gen 7 I actually liked, one day I hope it comes back.
Can’t wait for ttar vid coming. Don’t know when but it has to come eventually.
Yes my favorite ultra beast!!! Let's go!
Naganadel is probably my fave UB. Its design is so sick!
Can you imagine if Naganadel had like a Signature move? Like a lower power Poison type move that dealt damage and decreased the target's speed, like Sticky Webs... to play into the adhesive properties it is supposed to have. Woof.
If it was a gen 9 mon, it definitely wouldve had one, as every new pokemon and their grand ancestors have at least one to two of those
Ooh the first video on an Ultra Beast
My favorite ultra beast. It's so powerful it's insane
Now we need the Incineroar video with seven minute of singles end 1 hour of Doubles.
For vgc Naganadel felt like being almost there. Often times it did not hit quite hard enough and its bulk wasn't good enough to make it last a bit longer. Just a little more stats on its defences could've helped a lot.
Still waiting for the day we get a video on Lilligant, more likely now a few months after it's Hisuian Form is made available in SV too, I never gave it the light of day then on a replay of BW last year I decided to try out Own Tempo Petal Dance Lilligant and the highlight of that playthrough was solo'ing Ghetsis' whole team using the underleveled flower girl...
That thumbnail makes it looks like Naganadel's doing the whole "trust no one" meme.
It’s a treat to see this video after seeing Ash’s Naganadel.
Hey FSG! Hope you’re alright!
Ironic that Naganadel is the second Alola starter covered on this channel.
Also fun fact: Naganadel is the only Pokémon Ash has ever owned to use an Electric-type move besides Pikachu.
A video on infinite fusion would be amazing. That’s a huge rabbit hole though.
I hope Bronzong and Rotom and Landorus and Drifblim are coming soon.
You have no idea how long I've been sitting like a gargoyle outside of your channel waiting for this upload.
I got a shiny competitive-ready Naganadel in a Pokemon HOME Wondertrade last year (probably hacked but Idk), seriously thought about using it in competitive because of how broken it was at the time but didn’t cus I had to focus on my studies. I don’t play competitive at all, but this thing almost got me into playing it 😅
A hint for when bans are in order in a new tier, when ditto is common to counter something, odds are it’s probably broken
Moral of the story: Nasty Plot needs to be distributed to more Pokémon. Naganadel is proof of how good the move is.
Really sick design on this one
My favorite UB. I was one of the people abusing it back when it was in OU, and most especially in Monotype.
IVE WAITED....3000 YEARS, my fav pokemon
naganadel is in my top 5 fav mons. this is a welcome surprise
You guys should make a video about why agility isn't as common as other boosting moves (DD, SD etc.)
Thanks for the vid. dragon type trainer, after seeing tons of them last two months. this happens to be the first ultra beast, also the best LOL
Ide love to see a video about the concept of team building from you guys, I feel like my biggest problem is every time I get on showdown and look at an empty team canvas Im sitting here like where tf do I start. I know its prolly gen specific but theres gotta be certain techniques that work
So glad they made this guy’s shiny yellow with black stripes, sells the hornet aesthetic.
And, based on its debut game's story, this is supposed to be a starter pokemon, possibly making it one of the strongest starters XD
@False Swipe Gaming I would be curious if you decide to do a video on "How Good were the Ultra Beasts actually". I really like those intriguing Pokémon.
Now, just imagine this with sheer force and you got another mon banned to AG.
Do Xurkitree next please!
Please do a video about Conkeldurr!
Honestly would’ve never expected this mon to be broken. It has a pretty similar stat spread to Weavile, with slightly higher attack, lower speed, and similar defenses. Additionally, Weavile arguably has a better offensive typing in Dark/Ice, which gives it STAB Knock Off.
Ig it all comes down to the fact that unlike Weavile, Naganadel has an actually useful ability, coverage moves to take care of its mons that resist its STAB, and only takes super effective damage from one form of priority (ice shard) as opposed to two (Mach punch, bullet punch) making it harder to revenge kill.
One of my favorite Pokémon
And the shiny is insane
Noctowl, please! We need to keep going, and it's the earliest dex mon with no video!
One of my favorite legendaries ever..this thing was so good
This is my favourite ultra beast.
And it's shiny is a icing on a cake.
Well boys, here we are. The very first one of these where I have never heard of the pokemon in question lmao
2 FSG vids in one week?!
Gen 7 Naganadel:
"Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee."
Or in this case, sting like a wasp.
Sting like a wasp. In other words, just keep stinging everyone over and over.
I remember playing gen 8 random battles on showdown and if you had this thing on your team, it was basically game over lol. The stat spreads for random mons usually made it so that Naganadel would get a special attack boost as opposed to the usual speed boost, but that really didn't even matter that much since you would eventually just get so strong that everything would die in one hit. Combine that with dynamax and max ooze to boost special attack further and you had a pretty busted pokemon. Aside from that, Naganadel is a really cool pokemon with a great design and an awesome shiny, definitely one of the best ultra beasts.
Love Ash's Naganadel in the anime.
Hope they show up during one the aim to be a pokemon masters specials.
Naganadel is certainly one of my favourite pokémon from gen 7, not only the design is super cool but made to blend well with the attack animations making it that more cool, most older mins didn't get the same love when they went from 2d to 3d
Can we have some other strong Ultra Beasts soon? Maybe Pheromosa or Kartana next?
Naganadel was a top 4 pokemon in a Lille special event in vgc 19. With scolipede.
we need an 4 hour long how amazing was rotom actually..
If Kyurem was any indicator, the forms would be split into their own videos
This world is not ready for Sky High Rotom.
Yay! My favorite Pokèmon!
I think that a Togetic and Togekiss video needs a remake since it's kinda outdated there isn't a lot of information in it. Gen 8 came out and in the video there's isn't a lot of VGC info. Plus, Togetic wasn't mentioned in Gen 6 part, where it had to be used in RU(i think???) to counter one specific pokemon
Omg my favorite Ultra beast. Edith was added to my time when I was able to get it, and it was really fun to use. Edith I love you you purple alien 👾
Lets go I love this Pokemon
To quote way too many people (sadle):
"Smogon loves stall and Naganadel crushes stall so smogon banned it"
Yeah like sure, thats the reason why smogon bans stuff like that, definitely...
Awesome in competitive, awesome design. Not a fan of dragon types in general, but it's one of my favorites besides Noivern, Zygarde 50%, Dragonair and Haxorus.
This channel has been remarkably consistent in covering later-gen Dragon types in this year.
