Disagree. I remember it as one of the most iconic times in K-Pop but I always hated that song. It was so bad musically speaking. I think GG has ten times better songs which showcases their vocals and has better production and concept. Gee is just a staple of bubblegum K-Pop. A sub genre which I think also has much better songs.

Yes, I also didn't like GEE and was annoyed it was playing everywhere. Orange Caramel has so many good bubblegum songs.

If Gee wasn’t a Top 5, I was gonna have to throw hands with someone. I’m personally upset Kara and Infinite were so low, as Sweetune were THE k-pop 2nd gen producers, in my mind. I would’ve campaigned for Catallena to land higher in the list, because despite being a meme, it’s a truly good and iconic song. I’m also personally happy to see Lee Jung Hyun so high, as her music was the first Korean music that really wormed its way into my ear, thanks to Dance Dance Revolution.

When Into the new world and Growl ended so low AND Genie didn't even make the list, you know this list is bullshit. Glad my queens SNSD got the spotlight but some songs are fishy...
i def agree on u tbh i love gee gee and SNSD but there wasnt something big about the song its generic but still very good and on the other hand the chaser was a masterpiece and no im not bias or subjective. musicians around the world praise it infinite was music only for pro. billboard composer loved them so much and i understand why

honestly i was so surprised to see someone of these placements like some of those kpop songs are good but definitely aren't the best like wannabe tomboy ect and i feel like a lot of these rankings of the actual good songs always are based off of popularity and overlook the second gen of kpop which was literally gold for kpop its so refreshing seeing the appreciation towards the older generations of kpop
Nah I'd be more surprised if Move wasn't on the list at all bc Move was like a cultural reset it was a hit among idols too but it was also a song no one could dare touch as well bc of how good the song is and how hard the choreography is.

I have to say i agree with this list wholeheartedly. A lot of these songs were chosen because of the strong impact they still have on popular music to this day.
Dna, fake love, On(bts), Replay(shinee), Lovesick(shinee), Blue flame(Astro), fancy(twice), celebrity(IU), magic (super junior) are all songs off the top of my head that should've made the list.

Gee had huge impact in Kpop scene. It was like Baby One More time of Kpop and the first ever Kpop group mv to reach 100m views.
Oh, I came across Short Hair after watching Seventeen's Immortal Song performance and really liked it! Seeing that ep I know Cho Youngpil would make it! And I also really love Haru Haru. The year I stumbled across it, that year it was my favorite! Also for Seventeen, I was sure Aju Nice would make it. I feel almost everyone knows it and associates Seventeen with Aju Nice!
In my opinion most of these newer groups and their songs should not be in this list lmao. Among all these actually legendary songs from the 20th Century and early 2000s that were big hits in South Korea itself and had big impact on Koreans suddenly appear some TikTok hits 💀 The sentiment is completely different, for a lot of these older songs and artists there are memories and nostalgia attached to them, then you have songs where everyone is just like “I’ve heard this on TikTok”. Cultural impact is important.

Im a Atiny, Luvity, Crown, MY, NCTzen, Shawol, P1ece, Monbebe, MOA, Engene, Stay, Army, and roadY, so im like half way happy with this list 😅 not saying that all the groups i love should be on there, some are still new. I was ecstatic to see my beautiful ladies Aespa on there, and MonstaX too. I personally would have put BTS's BS&T on there, definitely one of my favorites. Ill have to sit and think of who i think should have made it and for what songs, though.
Not a multistan, especially with Army too, most Army's hate Multistans, not 100% on why tho, maybe bcos they pick and choose which Army is not about

I just don't get it, it's just music, it's supposed to bring us joy, not divide us. And there's nothing wrong with liking more than one K-pop group, it's called variety, I'd get bored just listening to one group forever, I don't care how much I love them. And I may Stan around 10 or so groups, but I only have like 3 that I know pretty much everything about and that I go all out in my support of them during comebacks with buying albums etc, cause I sure as heck can't afford it for all of them.

honestly i understand that a good portion of this list is from decades ago bc this say korean pop songs, not kpop songs. when i hear korean pop, i personally think korean music in general dating back to whenever koreans started making music.
whereas kpop is more so the industry of kpop and being a kpop idol, (training, performing on music shows, etc). so a lot of popular kpop songs won’t be on this list because it doesn’t amount to the impact a lot of older korean songs had. and i feel like we can’t really speak on it bc most of us weren’t alive during the 60s or whatever, and probably not in korea, so the older songs probably had much more impact than a lot of kpop songs.
but i do think there should be some more kpop on this list! but i understand how most of this list doesn’t have a lot of our favorite songs on them. at least that’s my opinion.

I do feel like Girls' Generations I Got A Boy should have been here. It basically kickstarted the experimental wave of K-pop. We wouldn't have had NCT, Aespa, or NMIXX if I Got A Boy had flopped.

Twice's Fancy wasn't there which was iconic IMO over TT, and needed to be Top 20, and SKZ God's Menu needed to be higher as well, like maybe Top 50. Had an issue with BTS' I Need You placement, needed it to be Top 20. Also I am ARMY, Shawol, Once, MooMoo, Stay, Neverland, MY, Forever, Midzy, and have no qualms about No.1 and No.3; those positions were deserving!

You being surprised that TXT with Lovesong is here honestly made me a bit side eye...the whole album got the highest Metra Score for any Kpop album ever. I know nearly no one who dislikes Lovesong and so many who love it A LOT or call it the best Kpop song ever...even Non Moas...and i have to agree with them🤷♀️ Its strong, emotional, vocally interesting and does sound enough non Kpop for non Kpop fans to like it.
