Not plastic, the video starts saying very clear is CARBON FIBRE. Carbon fibers have several advantages including high stiffness, high tensile strength, low weight, high chemical resistance, high temperature tolerance and low thermal expansion. These properties have made carbon fiber very popular in aerospace, civil engineering, military, and motorsports, along with other competition sports. However, they are relatively expensive when compared with similar fibers, such as glass fibers or plastic fibers. In a comparison between steel and carbon fiber materials for automotive materials, carbon fiber may be 10-12 times more expensive.

Once upon a time all bicycles were made from steel, from shopping bikes to race bikes. But rapid technological developments over the past decades have seen lighter materials like aluminium, titanium, and most recently CARBON FIBRE pushed steel out of the spotlight in racing bikes. But steel is not dead, far from it. Although racing cyclists no longer favour steel, it continues to be the desired frame material for anyone wanting a bike for comfort, distance and durability. That’s why touring, audax and city bikes tend to be steel, not carbon fibre.
