My parents got me Street Fighter The Movie The Game instead of Street Fighter 2. I was so torn between my immeasurable disappointment and my gratitude for a surprise gift.
That was always the most bittersweet feeling to me as a kid; when my mum would go out and get me a toy I really wanted but it was a knock off or it was a different brand completely or something. I used to feel a very intense feeling of love when remembering her face when she gave it to me, mixed with disappointment.
