  • Presented here is an eyewitness account of Victorian era Perth Amboy by Katherine M. Beekman (1849-1925), a direct descendant of the well known Parker Castle Family. Within this documentary, Beekman's words describe Perth Amboy during the latter half of the 19th Century. This film was produced by Perth Amboy City Historian, John Dyke.

    My siblings and I were born and raised in Perth Amboy. It will always remain a special place in our hearts. Very rich history! Thank you for all that you do to document that history.

    I would like to know if you can help me out. I'm looking for some information on a old business this from path amboy. The name of the company is. jimmies service & boat land sewaren. My relatives worked there many years ago. Probably in nineteen twenty's or thirties maybe even into the forties

    Thank you for these wonderful pictures and fascinating narration! Were any of the gravestones from Eagleswood preserved? It’s such a shame that all of these historic buildings are all gone. Lost…Thanks to the careless Perth Amboy town fathers….

    Thank you for this video. I am researching Clarence Sibley 1864-1924 he was an important maker of stained glass lighting in the 1905-1915 period. I’m looking for a picture of the old Music Hall that was at 183 High Street, and one of Sibley. Please comment if you have either. Thanks!
