I'm 81 now, been living in the Philippines for 5 years now. All of our neighbors are locals and we get along with them very well. They often do worksfor us. My only complaint is about the traffic and roads. I think I am living in Paradise.

Big enough that our neighbors are farther than i can throw a rock. No hollow block fence. Just a wire farm fence. Secluded, and there's a police officer couple(both) that live next to us. No traffic because we live at the end of the right of way. Once in a while the barangy puts on a dance or something for the youth until late at night at the barangy gym. It's a half kilometer away. So we can hear it but its only once in a while. Its cheep here. Takes a couple years to figure it all out. Takes a few years to accumulate all the crap you gave away b4 coming here. Yeah it was definately the right thing to retire early 59 years old. At a reduced income stream to come here. For a decade + I was dying going back and forth to work. I felt it was a huge waste of my time. Made a LOT of money. But it cost a lot to live there. So i was in bondage to my job and home. You guys inspired me to pull that trigger. Got here about 15 months ago. Was already married for 14 years. Wife came to the states in 2010. Became a US Citizen. We came back with our 11 year old to show him and immerse him in his moms culture. ;) And for us to capitalize on the cost of living here. Not yet receiving social security. Just have a small pension. Had money from my home equity we bought our house here with and 2 used cars. We raise our own goats and chickens. And pugo(quail). Had a giant garden created by local barangy young men. The jungle overtook it so fast. Im presently regrouping in thought on the garden. Gotta get that going and keep it. We grew okra eggplant and cucumbers. And a lot of other things. It's hot as F here. I recommend not putting your split aircons up too high. Because they run 24x7 almost, and the cooling fins heat exchangers need cleaning often. Dauin is home sweet home. Water comes from up the mountain. I do not recommend getting a place too close to the national highway. Because them down there are out of water now. We aren't. Water distribution here has a lot of leaks. The closer you get to the source, the more consistent your water will be.
@@crewfamilyphilippines hi Monte, i do remember Paul tell that story of how you got him started on CZcams, and you must be a good teacher because look at him now, and Mae, you started a fire that spread far and wide.

Old dog just muttered ‘ Life is Hard’ , and that is what my dad told me exactly when I was in six grade. Am 70 and still rings a bell. Get a job and strive to be happy. 😊
I can’t thank Monty enough for helping the old dog Paul set up his channel. I been a subscriber to Paul’s channel since March of 2020 and I love his uplifting videos.
Hi Monty and Paul. I am here in toledo city cebu with my beautiful filipino wife.Paul you were by far the biggest influential blogs that i used to watch from florida, so i ended up here in toledo city cebu a year ago. I bought a little two room wooden house with an outside kitchen and an outside cr on a 500 square meter property that was all fenced in. I didn't had a concrete addition added to the house which is now my kitchen dining and living room area and a new indoor cr with shower. The original two rooms of the house are now the bedrooms. We get our share of dogs and roosters unfortunately very little karaoke lol, but in general it is really quiet here for the philippines. Incidentally i was 75 when i bought this place and will be 77 next month. My wife is 36. I had already mentioned this Monty a few months ago but he may not remember it. I really hope i can get over to dumaguete sometimes to meet you and Monty. Enough for now i guess. Both of you take care of yourselves and enjoy your new studio together. Bill A.
Tag-team with Kuya Paul! From TAMPO studio! 😂🤣 Always good advice from 2 of my favorite creators! 👍 I hit 65, was able to get moderate (not great) retirement, and I knew it was TIME to make the move to a better life! 🇵🇭🌴 I feel like I have a new, happier life, with my new Family, and life has new purpose ❤️ Thanks, guys! 👍
Monty, good video u an Paul made. I am 86 an advice I have, don’t associate with Negative thinking people. Bottom line don’t keep up with the Joneses. God Bless an wish u well.
I choose to be in the Philippines therefore I must adjust my attitude toward the Philippines and not think I am in a Vegas 5-star resort and complain when things are not satisfactory. Downshift and be grateful. 😅
Hey Monty, I watched a show on fence building the things that fence builder saw property lien issues, scrambling neighbors, building a fence up against another fence. It was interesting. I’m glad you’re here.
I think it does make a difference when it comes to age i don’t have the same patience i did when i was younger. The Philippines is what it is we just have to accept it or leave, the country isn't going to change any time soon. I don't think its much cheaper than my own country in fact it costs me more to live in the Philippines. Thanks for sharing 👍
Noise, the lizards, the jeepneys and their 1950’s mufflers, the traffic, menu items not available. Yep. That’s the Philippines. It’s either accept it or leave it.
I can relate to Monte. Had a rough upbringing but met a married a wonderful filipina and our daughter was born when I was in my late 50s. Finally, have a good family!
Re: escaping the noise. You can watch TV, listen to music, mess with cell phone/laptop with noise cancelling headphones or ear buds. When my Mexican neighbors are playing loud music when I want to sleep, I'll wear ear buds listening to ocean wave white noise and sleep like a baby...
@@napoleonmdusa8877 Blue tooth connect them to your cell or laptop. I'll play a CZcams white noise video on my cell. There are a ton that run 8-10 hours.

I think it's awesome!!! My husband and I are planning to retire in the Philippines. We preffer to be surrounded with happy and positive human beings...we have been living in Canada for so many..many years and we hardly know our neighbours...its kinda sad...we had good jobs and saving for our best future...when we are ready we will definitely give back and do our best to contribute to Filipinos...Good Luck to you both and your family!!! God Bless😊💚🙏
I grew up in Texas and I have now moved to Tbilisi Georgia. I now walk everywhere and I eat the local food. I have lost weight (wonderful) and the best health condition in decades. Besides, being much easier on the pocket book, this is one of the best decisions I have ever made. BTW, I am 65.
It sounds like moving to the Philippines makes more sense if you are economically challenged, lonely and destitute, but you will have to accept the lack of social etiquette and economic development.
No, it makes more sense to move there if you want some serenity in your life and not have to deal with the chaos of living in the USA or other western nations. No one that is destitute is going to even be able to afford the plane fair, let alone live in The Philippines, so that isn't it either.
Damn, you guys are good! You just answered a thought that I have been pondering since I got here, left, then returned. Why don't these expats that I relate to ever reach out to me? I'm sure they are busy enjoying what they've discovered here but cmon, just a shout out once in a while would be like having a vitamin pill. Paul mentioned - he just avoids complainers. I don't see myself as a obitual complainer but just the normal stuff. I did speak to .onty several months ago when I was still in the states, and really got a lot from it. I did get a reply from Paul ( I think 2x) but really craving more. Cmon guys, throw me a safety ring once in awhile?!
I look at getting older as an accomplishment, and looking forward to a new life and taking on every challenge that comes once I move over there, after living there and living in Korea for years I accept every and all challenges with open arms
You two guys are inspirational and motivational (big words 😂) What you discussed on this vlog has the potential to be life changing for some lonely, dispirited souls stuck here in the West. More power to you both 💪🔥
My late Italian brother in law before he died of covid (in Italy) used to like the Philippines very much. He and my sis had property in Palawan. When winter in Europe, 6 months in Philippines, sometimes 8 months.
Monty, I noticed in the past few videos you are wearing sunglasses. Are you ok? Why are you wearing sunglasses indoors? You look like a rock star. Be strong. Tom in California
Thank you for watching Tom. Since the stroke my left eye 👁️ is almost closed which makes my right eye look like a bug eye 😊 and the bright light bothers me
I moved from Arizona very hot dry air to the Philippines pretty hot humid air. I noticed that everything sounds so loud in the Phils, I looked it up, sound travels faster and id louder in humid air...
I’m fortunate and have two pensions and social security. I Can afford to live in America still. I could never deal with brownouts and lack of air conditioning and roosters and dogs. I planned for my future and also invested well. I can understand Monty and old dogs situation financially. Really few choices with just social security. It’s not enough at all by it self even in Florida where house insurance is insane if you can even get it and the real estate taxes are as bad as Connecticut and don’t get me started about the politics in Florida
I’ve not watched many blogs Re Monty , but have been a avid subscriber to Paul , And you Paul have done a magnificent job with reinventing yourself The message is don’t throw in the towel
Most of us worked hard in our younger years, but not all of us had the same breaks or made the right financial decisions. Some of us have gone through life-changing events such as divorce. The Philippines at least gives some an option to get their lives back on track and put their financial house in order. I don't need to move there, but I'm attracted to the natural beauty of the islands and hope to visit soon.🏝🇵🇭
Like so many things, life is what you make of it. You can look at what is going on around you and get frustrated by it, or really focus on the reason you’re there and have joy. What I have in the Philippines is family and friends who are really loud. But, if I am not having a migraine, then it doesn’t bother me because the noise is what I signed up for. What kills me isn’t noise or anything like that. It’s just how inefficient it is with time there. Most doctors don’t do appointments. You just show up at the crack of dawn and wait until the doctor or secretary is there so you don’t waste all of your morning or afternoon.
Two words on noise.....Ear plugs. Seriously. A couple of other solutions. White noise generator or noise cancelling headphones. Cotton balls instead of ear plugs for those with sensitive ears. My mother lives in a residencial area in the mountains in Costa Rica. She only has to use the cotton balls on Friday or Saturday night due to loud music. Otherwise, very quiet and peaceful. Not even a lot of roosters.
Another great dual video from Monty and Paul! I just read that McDonald's CEO said they are losing customers making $45,000 or less. That's the reality.

Hi Monty. I’m a new subscriber from the state of MD. I’m a fan of Paul too. I’ve been to China and Japan in Asia. It’s a nice part of the world. The US has lots of problems. My new American Dream is to move outside the US as soon as I can afford to. You guys say what I’ve been telling people for years.
There’s an old movie with Clark gable called soldier of fortune. In old Hong Kong. Nothing but muggers lovers and thieves. And con men. A lot of ex pats in the Philippines remind me of that movie.
Cheers to two old farts that l would totally enjoy talking with.l am sold on the idea of moving there. My day is soon approaching. You both have been sharing the thoughts that l am having.I have made two trips over there and wished l had stayed both times.I agree it’s time for me time.l am ready to get off the hamster wheel .l have a beautiful Filipina already waiting for me to make the move.We have already built a house on land we purchased so what am l waiting for.lt’s encouraging hearing other men sharing how there lives have been changed by the move.
saying hi to the grumpy old men, hahaha. I am 74, planning on coming to Cebu in feb to finally enjoy my golden years. After seeing this video and with your encouragement, I am now looking at coming over sooner. right now, isn't good, drought season, lack of water in places, and about to go into typhoon season. however, seems like mostly excuses I know, so maybe I'll head over in august or sept. depends on price of airfare. l picked Cebu for the western amenities, good western foods, and expat communities. eventually I'll move further away from cebu, but I want to get acclimated to the weather first. my budget will be only $1500 per month. on ss with more than that, but I have a credit card I can't pay off...too high. I would've been there already, but my finances took a big dump a while ago, and I'm still recovering. But you're right, I'm not getting any younger and I want to enjoy my golden years for whatever I'm allowed by my maker. once I get there, I'd love to hook up with you guys and take you and your wives out for a nice meal.
It's true it's very noisy, the poor infrastructure, constant brown outs, chickens, etc., etc, etc. However, where else can an old geezer with a low income by Western standards score a young hot beautiful woman? Not many.
Personally I feel whether you are rich or poor, living in Philippine or America most important is you are feeling happy, healthy and positive enjoying your life. All depend on individually what are their expectations.
Having lived in the Philippines 🇵🇭 💕, my favorite, Japan, Korea 🇰🇷, Kuwait 🇰🇼, 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia, Marshall Islands 🇲🇭 🏝. I just get along when and where I can. Like CEBU City and Makati. Most of America 🇺🇸 is getting a abundance of high prices. So living in the Philippines 🇵🇭 is a major plus especially being retired. Soon, I will be age 62. I am a widower and my children are grown. Hang in there.
It’s being set in your ways. I moved to Florida last year from Connecticut There is no sense of urgency everybody takes there sweet ass time. As a former UPS man we were always groomed not to waste time
Yeah, when you’re younger I used to deliver packages for UPS during Christmas. Florida is definitely slower. I lived there for 43 years in Orlando. Thank you very much for watching Anthony.
Driving in the PI is the main thing that bothers me especially the absolute rudeness that is allowed by the scooter/motorcycle drivers is unbelievable. On a barely two lane road and these idiots will try and pass on both sides of your car and they think nothing of cutting you off and about half don’t have taillights and about 20% don’t have any lights. Also they think nothing about driving in your lane as your driving down the road they come right at you head on and at the last second they will cut off the driver in their lane and you have had to stop completely to avoid the head on collision. One other thing they cannot figure out how to go up and down the parking lanes at the mall. They can’t figure out the way the parking lanes are marked and the cars are all angled in a certain way, even with a painted arrow on the pavement they continue to go down the wrong way and they will look at you like it is your fault that there isn’t enough room to go down the aisle. I truly believe that less then 50% of the drivers don’t have drivers license or if they do, then they paid someone off to pass them on the driving test.
What you are saying is interesting. Prices so high in USA. Nothing to do on social security here except watching old westerns line Tales of Wells Fargo and the Texan.
Certainly I would choose "peace and quiet" living: that is "no urban noise of traffic, barking dogs, loudspeakers, parties, etc".. It isn't just local people: didn't Mike say they were moving to Duma with THREE dogs??
I'm not too old to live in the Philippines, nor was I too old to go to Hong Kong to get married to my precious pinay. What I am is too young to retire and I have too much energy to sit around! Some of these pinay's are too darn loud though! Ha!👍👍
Mark is hiding in Bacong , doing interviews on stream yard , something he said he would no longer do ( another lie ) Mark may be the most hated American on Negros .
Mark was never his best friend as Paul explained in his livestream that during Covid they we’re living in the same condo complex so they would do video’s together but Paul mentioned he doesn’t care for some of Mark’s company. Paul didn’t mention any names as he’s too much of a gentleman.
Paul, you are not too old to get out and go on hikes. I am 72 and went for a 2.5 mile walk on the beach in our local national park this afternoon. My 79 year old wife went with me. You can get out and do stuff if you want to. You may not be a fast as you were twenty years ago, but a a retired guy you have time. City noise bugs me too, so when I retired I moved to a small rural town on the Maine coast. I now live at the end of a 1/4 mile long private road my next door neighbor is an undeveloped part of Acadia National Park. So I have no traffic except in summer when a few tourists drive down the road past all the "Private Road" and "No Trespassing" signs to "see what is down here". Yeah, it costs more than living in the Philippines, but our monthly budget is only about $2,750. The key is no debt.
Good to see you and Old Dog together again. Your video about the future made me think of a point. How many married men there have a local will? What happens in the Philippines if a married expat with a local wife and dependents dies without a will? Can the wife legally take money out of the now deceased husband's bank account? Do the relatives back in the home country have to agree to turning everything over to the wife if there is a will back in the home country? Many points to cover I imagine. Good future video for you and Old Dog.
Happiness can be rather elusive, for many. Being at Peace with your beliefs, and convictions, and conduct is Very important. Wherever a person may find themselves...there is saving grace to be had, by all. Abraham discovered that faith was very elusive, but once gained...very powerful. But power in the wrong hands, of those that hate God, and will not obey Him...is not good. God Bless you all in the Phillipines. I have friends there, so I know some things about it. Praying for rain , for the parched countryside.
Unfortunately many people focus on the wrong things when planning their future. Case in point I live in Texas where our leaders aren't really working for mid to lower class worker. The company I retired from offered a pension that along with SSI allowed a worker with 25yrs service to live the same lifestyle as when they worked. Today the salaries are simular but the only benefit that remains is Health and Life Ins. I'm retired and not to brag my wife and I make more retired than my son and his wife and they both have advanced degrees. The only thing a expat living on SSI should worry about is who's going to protect their benefits because for them without SSI they can't survive anywhere and it a benefit you've already earned.
@@CheapButNotEasy I suggest doing your homework and not get caught up in propaganda. I live in Texas, one neighbor who just recent realized he was wrong in voting based on hate for those different. He recently said he's burned through his 401k and can't afford living off SSI alone.
imho I think that its easy to figure out. If you find out that no matter where you live you end up realizing there is always something to complain about, then see if you can learn how to not be a complainer. If you realize you can't change that, then figure out what you enjoy complaining about the most and move to the place where you are closest to the source of those complaints is occurring the most and live happily ever after! Problem solved!! 😂😅😊❤
Yeah noise is an issue, I found an apartment in a subdivision at the end of a dead end. Very quiet, took a while to find it. I have lived in many noisy places in the Philippines from cities to the province. What i have found is you need to wake up when the sun comes up and go to bed when it goes down. That way the rosters, the people and what not won't bother you. For out of stock I order almost everything I can on Lazada, have a credit card linked to it so don't even need to mess around with cash on delivery, the driver just throws it over the fence. 2 day delivery from Manila. Keep moving and Keep life simple. Cheers!
Thank you for the good information Owen. I order from Lazada as well but I use COD to avoid problems. We video every package we open. I had one order show up that was 18 bags and at the end empty and we received the wrong item. If you don’t have any proof they won’t do anything about it ☹️
@@crewfamilyphilippines yup that's true. I usually stick to lazmall or top sellers with thousands of sales and look through reviews as to not be disappointed. I also make sure the item is local or will have to wait weeks for delivery from China.
But Marty's situation is difficult because he's stuck all day with only Philippino's in the countryside. Who is he meant to talk to all day? You Paul can get out and about every day if you want, at least while your health is good. Plus, due to You Tube, you now have the funds to do what you want pretty much, including build a home and/or travel. Everyone's situation is different. For those who feel too old to live independently in the Philippines there are alternatives. Like reasonable nursing homes in the Philippines and Thailand. They look like 4 star resorts, have 1 on 1 care-giving at a fraction of the price in the US and every amenity you may want.
I'd like to hear more about "reasonable nursing homes in the Philippines" as that's a big concern for me when planning to retire there permanently and knowing that someday I'll probably need to go into one but I'd like to make sure I'm saving for that or at least set the funds aside to cover that.
Find a good Filipina to take care of you in your own place. Old age homes there are a nightmare. My wife worked as a care giver and said most of the patients are mistreated
My daughter knows that I love the Philippines. She had told me long before I met my wife. If something ever happened to me, she would send me the Philippines rent an apartment for me and pay a couple ladies to take care of me 😊 Monty
1. Being alone: In the US, you have far more pleasant distractions to counter being alone. Streaming services, books that you can actually read because it's quiet at libraries or just outside in the backyard, movie theatres, plays, concerts, parks (SO many quiet ones within 30 mins of anywhere), Amazon free- 2day shopping (inflation isn't THAT bad), pools, PS5, VFWs/Rotary/Legionnaires', Baptist churches, $10k massage chair in-home, Segway riding, Minor league baseball games, skiing...do I have to keep going? As you said, you change or be changed... no reason for anyone to 'sit around and wait for a call other than from telemarketers' in the USA, unless someone wants to. I loved visiting the PI but living there with so much broken...everything...the heat, bugs, noise, smells, food (not good or healthy), medical, people always expecting something every time you turn around (Who pay? You pay.), constantly having to help everyone because you're the "rich" guy... not for me.
Glad both of you good friends!! Best advices yo all who wants “Wisdom” living simple life & means you only have each day! Yet you both showed how much determination to all that “ simple living” is perfectly Ok. You get to choose to live the life you want & enjoying rest of your life!! You maintained a healthy lifestyle & well being that no one can take that from you !! Cheers to all ex- pat showing what simple life can happen. Mark, Mike, Chad, Goldfinger & rest!! I loved your videos!!!! Keep rolling the camera!! 😊😊
Great video! Between the the two of you there is a myriad of information available concerning the ins and outs of living in the Philippines with a filipina wife, coping with the dreaded tampo, adjusting to the cultural pressures, driving in unregulated traffic conditions or a gazillion other things that will blow your mind if you aren't mentally prepared for them. Believe me, it's nothing like going to Disneyland for a week. Billions of pesos are spent on promoting tourism in the Philippines, as far as I know very little, if any, is spent on a program to thoroughly explain the cons of living the Philippines. In my humble opinion, understanding the cons is equally important, if not more so, when it comes to making the decision to live in the Philippines permanently. Maybe a panel of four expats stretched over four 1hour sessions discussing the cons would be something to consider. Would that be a nightmare for you vloggers to do? I have no idea. Just a thought. Enjoy your videos so much. Keep on keeping on with the good work. Bob

Bill A.
Sounds like you’re doing really well Bill. I remember you telling me that. I hope all is well with your brother.
Tag-team with Kuya Paul! From TAMPO studio! 😂🤣
Always good advice from 2 of my favorite creators! 👍
I hit 65, was able to get moderate (not great) retirement, and I knew it was TIME to make the move to a better life! 🇵🇭🌴
I feel like I have a new, happier life, with my new Family, and life has new purpose ❤️
Thanks, guys! 👍
Thank you, and yes, you made the right choice for sure Jerry 👍🏻 😊
Great to see both you and Paul together in a video! Keep the faith and live your best life!
Thank you, Ted. That’s a great attitude.
Yea. Burger n fries is now $17.38 for one person at a decent burger place.
Wow, that’s crazy Johnnie
Same in Canada
I concur. Here it's around 21$, burger fries no drink
Game your own burger at home then
Great blog guys the best Monty and Paul 🎉🎉❤️❤️
Thank you so much Mike 😊
Another good video, Monty. Both you and Paul made some great points. Thanks.
Thank you so very much, Tom 😊
Monty, good video u an Paul made. I am 86 an advice I have, don’t associate with Negative thinking people. Bottom line don’t keep up with the Joneses. God Bless an wish u well.
That’s very good advice. Don’t worry about the Joneses. Just live your life.
I choose to be in the Philippines therefore I must adjust my attitude toward the Philippines and not think I am in a Vegas 5-star resort and complain when things are not satisfactory. Downshift and be grateful. 😅
Very true statement Kimo 😊
Hey Monty, I watched a show on fence building the things that fence builder saw property lien issues, scrambling neighbors, building a fence up against another fence. It was interesting. I’m glad you’re here.
Yes I went through all that crap. Building a fence in the Florida heat was enough of a challenge without all the drama that goes along with it 😊
Just don't go to hospital there for heart ♥ surgery, you could end up like Moonshine Shoulders, walked in vertical and got taken out horizontal.
☹️
I think it does make a difference when it comes to age i don’t have the same patience i did when i was younger.
The Philippines is what it is we just have to accept it or leave, the country isn't going to change any time soon.
I don't think its much cheaper than my own country in fact it costs me more to live in the Philippines.
Thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you for sharing your opinion and thank you very much for watching 😊
what is your country that is cheaper than the Philippines ?
Noise, the lizards, the jeepneys and their 1950’s mufflers, the traffic, menu items not available. Yep. That’s the Philippines. It’s either accept it or leave it.
That’s very true Marvin 😊
Paul your the biggest reason I'm here buddy your right its far from perfect here but yes financial is a big one
You are right, Jerry 😊
I can relate to Monte. Had a rough upbringing but met a married a wonderful filipina and our daughter was born when I was in my late 50s. Finally, have a good family!
That’s awesome Saul I’m truly happy for you 😊. Monty
Re: escaping the noise.
You can watch TV, listen to music, mess with cell phone/laptop with noise cancelling headphones or ear buds. When my Mexican neighbors are playing loud music when I want to sleep, I'll wear ear buds listening to ocean wave white noise and sleep like a baby...
wow, ear buds providing ocean wave white noise sounds wonderful for drowning out noise while trying to sleep. I wasn't aware they made those.
@@napoleonmdusa8877 Blue tooth connect them to your cell or laptop. I'll play a CZcams white noise video on my cell. There are a ton that run 8-10 hours.
Your strategy is far superior than arguing with the neighbors over noise, even if you are 'in the right'
Location - Location - Location...... Paul has the right idea - if - you can do it ? --- Like most things in life - it all comes down to money ? - - - Generally speaking Monty - no place is perfect. -?- Gratitude for what we have is elusive quite often. We simply forget to be thankful for what we are blessed with ? - - - WOW - - - What a video !!! -- -- -- If what Paul says is true about 90% of people who won't - "pull the trigger" - and - make the move over there (?) - it means it won't get too crowded as soon ? 🤔 -- -- -- Thanks guys for the - "reality check" ! 🤗
Thank you so very much, K. We appreciate your comment very much 😊
I think it's awesome!!!
Thank you for watching. It. Sounds like you have a solid plan. Good luck with your future and God bless you both.
That is awesome Mickey. 😊 I’m happy you’re in good health and changed your life.
@@crewfamilyphilippines you are very kind
It sounds like moving to the Philippines makes more sense if you are economically challenged, lonely and destitute, but you will have to accept the lack of social etiquette and economic development.
I agree, Leonard
No, it makes more sense to move there if you want some serenity in your life and not have to deal with the chaos of living in the USA or other western nations. No one that is destitute is going to even be able to afford the plane fair, let alone live in The Philippines, so that isn't it either.
I notice that not many of the more financially comfortable people are moving to the Philippines.
That’s an awesome attitude Rich 💛
Being too old to travel overseas period has been a concern, particularly the worry of experiencing health issues overseas. The clock keeps ticking. ⏰
You two guys are inspirational and motivational (big words 😂) What you discussed on this vlog has the potential to be life changing for some lonely, dispirited souls stuck here in the West. More power to you both 💪🔥
Thank you very much, sir 😊 to me that’s what it’s all about
My late Italian brother in law before he died of covid (in Italy) used to like the Philippines very much. He and my sis had property in
Palawan.
When winter in Europe, 6 months in Philippines, sometimes 8 months.
My condolences on his death. That is very sad.
Monty, I noticed in the past few videos you are wearing sunglasses. Are you ok? Why are you wearing sunglasses indoors? You look like a rock star. Be strong. Tom in California
Thank you for watching Tom. Since the stroke my left eye 👁️ is almost closed which makes my right eye look like a bug eye 😊 and the bright light bothers me
Thanks a lot guys, you just made my mind up for me! I hope we run into eachother over there!
We look forward to it 😊
I moved from Arizona very hot dry air to the Philippines pretty hot humid air. I noticed that everything sounds so loud in the Phils, I looked it up, sound travels faster and id louder in humid air...
Wow, that’s very interesting. I did not know that.
I’m really happy you’re set up well. I hope that you are enjoying Florida Anthony 😊
I’ve not watched many blogs Re Monty , but have been a avid subscriber to Paul ,
And you Paul have done a magnificent job with reinventing yourself
The message is don’t throw in the towel
Thank you Peter 😊
Most of us worked hard in our younger years, but not all of us had the same breaks or made the right financial decisions. Some of us have gone through life-changing events such as divorce. The Philippines at least gives some an option to get their lives back on track and put their financial house in order. I don't need to move there, but I'm attracted to the natural beauty of the islands and hope to visit soon.🏝🇵🇭
I look very forward to meeting you when you come 😊💛
Great video guys. Made some good points. If you’re lonely, the trade-off is worth it in my opinion.
That’s true Will. Thank you very much for watching.
That’s true Allan
Your'e looking stronger Monte...voice/vocals sounds good! You are a survivor!
Thank you very much 😊
I suggest that when building a house, make it simple, with a high ceiling with insulation to keep it cooler.
Yes, you are very correct 😊
Monty and Paul have a great day!
Thank you Geoff 😊
Two words on noise.....Ear plugs. Seriously. A couple of other solutions. White noise generator or noise cancelling headphones. Cotton balls instead of ear plugs for those with sensitive ears. My mother lives in a residencial area in the mountains in Costa Rica. She only has to use the cotton balls on Friday or Saturday night due to loud music. Otherwise, very quiet and peaceful. Not even a lot of roosters.
Thank you very much for the advice Andy. I have tried the earplugs. Several different kinds. pounding karaoke music rattles my brain 🧠 🤣😂
Wax ear plugs are the best
Another great dual video from Monty and Paul! I just read that McDonald's CEO said they are losing customers making $45,000 or less. That's the reality.
Thank you very much, Jimbo that’s crazy
Great video, sign me up for option Philippines, can't wait to get back. Thank you.
We all look forward to seeing you back, Joe 😊
My God Paul I've never heard you try to sell something to someone except the last time you were selling cars... Monty.. I totally enjoyed you in this video because you look fine... You are so energetic and verbal you look healthy I'm glad you're having a great day!! It's nice to see two friends together talking about how much they enjoy each other's company and where they live in their life there in the Phil.. my anchor here in California is for 30 years in the military I was always gone and now that I'm not retired and I enjoy my grandchildren and I spend more time with them than I did my own children and I just love them to death... I've had my taste of the Philippines living there for 5 years in another time zone 70s and early 80s... I would never give up the pot of love and gold I have here in the states with my family... There’s an old movie with Clark gable called soldier of fortune.
In old Hong Kong. Nothing but muggers lovers and thieves. And con men.
A lot of ex pats in the Philippines remind me of that movie.

saying hi to the grumpy old men, hahaha.
That would be great, James. It sounds like you have a plan. 😊
Enjoy the info that Paul and his guests provide.
Thank you 😊 Paul was my guest I’m Monty
It's true it's very noisy, the poor infrastructure, constant brown outs, chickens, etc., etc, etc. However, where else can an old geezer with a low income by Western standards score a young hot beautiful woman? Not many.
🤣 true
Personally I feel whether you are rich or poor, living in Philippine or America most important is you are feeling happy, healthy and positive enjoying your life. All depend on individually what are their expectations.
I was very true Sophia 😊
I haven't been in McD in 2 months...it's expensive....$15.40 for 2 small burrito !!!! It doubled..
Wow, that’s crazy 😮

Having lived in the Philippines 🇵🇭 💕, my favorite, Japan, Korea 🇰🇷, Kuwait 🇰🇼, 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia, Marshall Islands 🇲🇭 🏝. I just get along when and where I can. Like CEBU City and Makati. Most of America 🇺🇸 is getting a abundance of high prices. So living in the Philippines 🇵🇭 is a major plus especially being retired. Soon, I will be age 62. I am a widower and my children are grown. Hang in there.
Sounds like you got it figured out, David. Enjoy your retirement sir. Thank you for your service.
If the noise gets too bad I turn down my hearing aids. Medical care there is my major concern.
Just what I wanted to hear. Thanks. Great video.
Thank you Roger 😊
May 5th will be 5 months here and I’m still getting used to the noise, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
That’s great, John. Good attitude.
Who in their right mind would move anywhere without an adequate steady income plus a safety net fund, it’s a recipe for disaster😳
@@dermadawg 👍🏻
👍🏻
Good video and you two make some good points .
Thank you for watching Dave 💛
What you are saying is interesting. Prices so high in USA. Nothing to do on social security here except watching old westerns line Tales of Wells Fargo and the Texan.
🤣
Philippines is a paradise compared to the west, there is downsides any where you live
That’s right, Chris
Great outlook guys. I agree I don’t & wont be that grumpy old man.
Thanks Barry/Dallas.
🤣 nice to hear from you Barry I apologize if I already have told you that I grew up in Mesquite
Certainly I would choose "peace and quiet" living: that is "no urban noise of traffic, barking dogs, loudspeakers, parties, etc"..
It isn't just local people: didn't Mike say they were moving to Duma with THREE dogs??
Yes, I believe so 🤣
Simple dinner for 2 in a Mexican restaurant cost us at least $50. I started seeing 15, 18, 20 % on tip.
Wow 😮
I'm not too old to live in the Philippines, nor was I too old to go to Hong Kong to get married to my precious pinay. What I am is too young to retire and I have too much energy to sit around!
Some of these pinay's are too darn loud though! Ha!👍👍

What happened to your best friend Thornton, Paul?
No one likes him anymore.

@@user-dy5pq7tp7git's a tie Paul or Mark. Both As#holes!
Thank you Todd. Sounds like you have everything set. I’m happy that you are your wife are enjoying your retirement 😊 This is Monty
I hope you are ok mate, no vids for a couple of weeks. Best wishes to you
Thank you, brother I’m still kicking. Health issues slowed me down a bit. 😊
I will tell Paul for you when I see him 👍🏻
Happiness can be rather elusive, for many.
Thank you. We definitely need rain.
Wise words and great advices from both of you Paul and Monty.
Great 👍 video.
Thank you and keep up the great work.
Thank you very much for watching 😊
I absolutely agree with you. If we don’t have Social Security, we are dead.
I just became eligible and my plan is to vote. SSI is as secure as Washington makes it, and the clock is ticking
@@CheapButNotEasy I suggest doing your homework and not get caught up in propaganda. I live in Texas, one neighbor who just recent realized he was wrong in voting based on hate for those different. He recently said he's burned through his 401k and can't afford living off SSI alone.
you forgot communicating with your woman lol🤣 joking around guys the perfect place is hard to find you need time you guys are great keep up good work
Thank you so very much, Jerry 😊💛
imho I think that its easy to figure out. 😂😅😊❤
Very good advice, John 🤣
@@rickbold9337 I think hiring a Filipina caregiver, like a nurse, would cost more than going into an "old age home".
Oh my gosh!! What a great video. Thanks Paul and Monty
Thank you for watching Kevin 😊
Things are more in the U.S. but we're not on a fixed budget. Wages here are comparable to our cost of living. Now that will change when we retire.
That’s true Roy 😊
You pay.), constantly having to help everyone because you're the "rich" guy... not for me.
Totally understand
It's awfully kind of you, Monty, to adopt a new pet. That old dawg has a bark to him. Hopefully, it's worse than his bite.😅
That’s funny Philip 🤣
Bob
