I know this comment isn’t relevant to the video, but I think it is relevant to the channel.
I recently got recommended a video called “I hatched a fish from supermarket caviar” by Max Fosh this video is 38th on trending.
I would very much be interested in an opinion from a professional on this video and if this video is faked I think it might be a good time to educate people using this boost in interest and making video on it.
In the video this guy buys some carp caviar which I would assume it’s salted like all other caviar he takes the caviar adds it too a Tupperware container and added some milt he collected from a hatchery then he gets some fry to grow and shows the one that “survived”, but he doesn’t show its growth and suggests that he raised it from a fry to a release size fingerling in a volume of water less then a gallon.
I just find all of that to sound like a fantasy and I’d honestly like confirmation that I’m not crazy from someone that I could trust. Going off the assumption that this is a faked video it really bugs me that someone would pretend to go on a learning experience with a fake outcome and spread fake information.
The whole thing is quite fishy.
    Thank you for your time

From what you're telling me it is indeed fake. No way would the eggs survive and be viable after processing in salt for caviar. Not to mention be able to be fertilized!!! Not sure I want to make a video about dispelling that ridiculous premise. But you are right that it is a shame that this sort of thing gets promoted instead of real informational info about aquaculture and fish farming. Ill check it out. Thanks for thinking that I am a trust worthy source though. Its why I started this channel in the first place. So much bad info out there.

@@ThisIsAquaculture I can understand not wanting to make a video, though I would still be interested hearing what you think after watching the video.

@@trueHerpnerd So I watched the video.....there is no way that carp eggs that have been cured in likely greater than ~4% salt for weeks in a jar all of a sudden became fertilized. its possible he got viable eggs from the same location he got the sperm!

@@ThisIsAquaculture that’s what I was thinking, I was also thinking he also probably got a fingerling from the same hatchery.
thanks for confirming my suspicion, it’s really too bad that people are willing to spread fake information rather than put in the effort to do things right.

It’s why I started this channel. Too much ridiculous stuff out there and not enough other voices. Any video I would make would not get enough views to counteract these type of videos. 1.6 million views with 2mil followers. I’m not going to be able to compete with that stuff plus nor do I want to. People like you looking to be informed and really interested in the topics I present will find me.
