    Rick is my uncle. he's been trying to get me into engraving for almost fifteen years. here i am getting the youtube education now, and figured one of these days i would come across someone working on one of his folders. stellar work! i love the scroll and gold inlay, and the detail of the bird is amazing.

    I learn so much from a Video like this, Thank you for taking the time to make it, Your helping to keep an Art alive that was in Danger of being lost due to the lack of sharing Knowledge and Techniques in the past by a lot of Engravers who felt that they had to learn by themselves and weren't going to share anything with any one that might be in a position to take work from them in the future, ( They took it to the Grave Literally ) Thank God that this was seen as a problem when it was and groups like FEGA were formed to help new Engravers learn the Craft. Thanks again.

    • @vilts

      +TheToxicFPS That is just 1500 (or was it 2000) grit paper glued to wood stick.
      Transfer was with the inkjet printed image on transparency and then rubbed on to dammar/zippo fluid covered metal.

    • @vilts
      @vilts  Před 5 lety

      @@allenl9214 Not a problem. I hold it between thumb and index finger and sort of squeeze it to start working, then move around as needed. I've done so for the past 5-6 years, haven't yet felt the need for the pedal just for stippling. Maybe if you stipple many hours per day, then it would make sense, otherwise not. But people are different, I'd say first give it a try without a pedal, you can always but that later as needed.
