I picked one up the day they were released, but the standard grade steel version with the black dial. I'm still in the honeymoon stage, but I can see that even after the honeymoon ends it will be one of my favourites. I find the watch fits my 7" wrist perfectly, but I'm not sure I could go any smaller.
Christopher Ward really putting out some interesting pieces over the past 12-18 months especially. Great review Sam; the green dial is a beauty but I think that fast patina might be the deal breaker.
@@shchino134 I like it and try to keep it shiny - using ketchup when polishing. Yes, the bronze bracelet leaves a dark shadow on my wrist, but that's easy taken care of with some soap and water.
I think this is a great looking watch. I kind of wish they had steel models with a COSC option. I wonder why they seem to limit COSC to the bronze models of a line. 38 is right on the edge of about as small as I like to go, so it really depends on the watch. I have a 7.25" wrist and am quite tall. I love my 39.5mm Alpinist and have tried on the SPB155 "Baby" Alpinist at 38mm and liked that, but at the same time find the 38mm Hamilton Khaki Mechanical to feel too small. I think this is a nice overall release from CW. My only other niggle would be I'd love to see some white lume, but I guess that doesn't go with the Dune name does it?
Hey Sean, you i think i should have been clearer in the upload. They do have the COSC steel models but for some reason in the newer lines your right they don't have a cosc sealander, Aquitaine or dune in steel. I have a 38mm seiko speedtimer and the size did bother me!
Thanks for the video! I’ve been itching to see more videos on this exact model of the Dune. What are your thoughts on the likelihood of the bracelet turning wrists green?
I love the colour of fresh bronze. Patina would drive me nuts. This is a pass for me even with a nice review like this. I do like the tapered date at 6 though.
Great review! 38 mm is perfection! So glad more manufacturers are coming out with sub 40 mm! Colour matches date wheel Domed sapphire Fantastic sized crown Bronze Cos 38 mm What's not to like? Probably the brand identity crisis at CW is the only thing that stands out.
So... When we say value we mean how much you're getting for your money. It doesn't necessarily mean that you're not paying very much, or that you have to say something is good "for the money." A good value watch can be quite expensive, and can absolutely be "good" without the for the money qualifier. Grand Seikos are good value. So is this. Value doesn't mean cheap.
Hey Oscar. I have been wondering about the length of these. Do you mean more reviews vs livestreams or do you mean the length of this one (around 7 mins) is better?
@@CasualWatchReviews Thanks for asking :) I mean more videos, reviews or not, between 7 and 15 minutes. Generally I don't have time to watch livestreams, even if I want to, a shorter format is more comfortable for me, and I like to watch your channel
Ok cool! Thanks for the feedback, the reviews usually take a lot longer to make and edit. This one was unscripted so took a little bit less time. I will see if I can find a balance between the content. Appreciate you messaging the feedback, always gratefully received!
Bronze can trigger nickel allergy. Some of the common symptoms of nickel allergy include skin rashes, red eyes, skin discoloration and dry patches on skin. That's why you don't see many bronze bracelets.
There are many, many alloys termed bronze. However, nickel is NOT one of the elements. On the other hand, 316 stainless commonly used in this industry does use nickel.
You actually can’t do that. If you knew anything about mechanical movements you would know it’s actually impossible to do with some movements, they would fail the positional accuracy and temperature tests.
Hi Ivan, thanks for watching. I’m not sure I necessarily agree with you here. The BB58 dial has no date and the 3 and 9 markers on the BB58 are rectangles. The only similarities are the round indices, but CW have been using round indices for years. If the BB58 did have the date I probably would have kept mine!
Amazing marketing ! The photos on the website do not correspond to the real product. On the website you can see a beautiful polished surface that glistens, in reality you can't even see it. To blame this phenomenon of patina on bronze is so primitive. It's like in the case of using titanium, you need to use IP in the process to have a shiny effect. The seller very cleverly masks the defects and does not expose them. Overall, I would consider the product to be inconsistent with the contract. Not to mention that I really had to look online for profile pictures of the C65 Aquitaine Bronze that looks like a UFO ! Limited series in the case of CW does not mean a special series as in the case of the largest brands, but only a minimum series for production for the manufacturer in terms of order profitability.
Hi, I’m not sure what point your making here? I think I showed the shiny parts in the review and it is made from bronze? Probably with a heavier douse of copper.
I'm so sorry, but a title 'Uncover the Timeless Charm of the Christopher Ward C65 Dune' really does smack of advertising. Will it procure me a concubine and make my tea as well?
@@CasualWatchReviews Haha. AI has a lot to answer for. The metaphysics of CZcams reviews can be confusing. I'm hoping for 'Smell the Sexual Prowess of the Invicta Pro Diver' by the end of next week. Keep up the good work.

I just ordered it yesterday with the green dial - can't wait to get it!!!!
How do you like so far?? Is the bronze worth it?? Does it leave a mark on the wrist?? I know bronze leaves a shade ..

Looking to get one soon, likely with the leather strap.
Hopefully there is some kind of coating on the inside of that bracelet. Green wrist will be the norm.

I would think it might do but then settle down? I wore it and I’m the short time I had it I didn’t notice anything

I would be reaching for the brasso I bet also!
Great review!

A Rose Gold bracelet would look fantastic on this instead of the Bronze patina problem
That would be 1000% more expensive!
Dad would be so proud!
Apparently thats where I inherited my green wrists from, his side of the family 😂
Bronze IS an alloy. Its copper and tin.
Or more correctly, bronze is a number of different alloys all of which primarily contain copper and tin.
Loving looking watches with a stunning dial. I don’t think I could live with patina as it’s just not my thing.
Wife wants one for Xmas in green to add to her collection. She may be lucky 🤣

Oris also has the candy bronze with the bronze bracelet.
please more short videos like this

Bronze is defenitely not my cup of tea, but i love the steel version of it
The bronze, is so awesome that’s a great watch it’s too bad it’s limited to 38 mm on how nice it is it deserves to be at least 40mm
Yep totally agree!
Oris has done a bronze bracelet as well, as seen on some of their big crown pointer date models.
great watch.. just not a fan of bronze... cheers
Yep, I'm still not fully bought in on bronze
i can adjust ANY automatic watch to cosc standards. most the time even more accurate.
You actually can’t do that. If you knew anything about mechanical movements you would know it’s actually impossible to do with some movements, they would fail the positional accuracy and temperature tests.
It’s a Black Bay Homage Dial. Almost the same apart from the snowflake hands.

Too small for my 7 inch wrist.
Honestly It’s a little small for me also Mark! Thanks for watching!

If it makes you feel better I actually got a AI to generate the title. And I guess essentially it is a kind of advert?

Hey... actually you only need to put Invicta prodiver in the title on its own! My biggest performing video is about one!
@@CasualWatchReviews I love those watches. My first auto. I'll look up your vid.
