I think, as of a couple days ago, Joy was deemed eligible for "Best Supporting Actress" with Maryann Plunkett being the only one eligible for "Best Leading Actress in a Musical." Would love to see a nomination for Joy and Maryann too tbh.
Curious what other shows you’ve seen to think that? Joy is fantastic but she has a very limited role and this is a super crowded season with many standout performances so I wasn’t surprised when she didn’t get a nomination. I found the show to pretty mediocre overall, especially when compared to some really bold and inventive new shows like Illinoise. Suffs and Outsiders were also much more effective dramas imo. In a weaker season, I think The Notebook would’ve done better, but right now it’s kind of middling with Water for Elephants and Gatsby.
