    Hi, Same model Renault Scenic MKII - 2008, same problem - tailgate does not open, Warning light on. But the boot opens when the engine is running. Is it the same fault ? sounds like not enough power on battery to run boot motor. However the battery is good and works normally in other cases and the battery is able to start the Engine :)

    • @OneAuto
      @OneAuto  Před 8 lety

      It wouldn't be a battery problem. The tailgate of the vehicle in the video wouldn't open at any time so I guess yours may have a different problem that needs investigating.

    Hi, I've got a 2010 Renault Megane Dynamique with the same problem. I've replaced the boot lock but the problem is still present. There does seem to be electrics going through the lock as the lock works, but the lock only seems to work when the boot is open. When I shut the boot, the lock doesn't operate. Open it again, and the lock operates. It's almost like it's inverted. Strange. Do you know what the problem could possibly be? Thanks.

    I'm having the same problem now. Same car, same year. The button seems okay though, just the lock itself.
    Just when the Christmas weekend starts and I can't get to a dealer in time and have to go to a zillion places. Typical. So my car will be unlocked, parked on the public road for almost a week. Great.
    Two questions. Is it possible to lock the boot the same way as you open it from the inside? So to make it close completely so that the sensor and the dashboard "feels" that everything is fine and I can lock the car down properly? Or is it just a way to open it manually? Second question. What happens when I disconnect the cable to the mechanism and try to lock the car. Will it give a fault or get fooled into thinking the lock is not broken? I'm just looking for a way to safely park my car until I can get it fixed or get the parts to fix it myself. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

    • @OneAuto
      @OneAuto  Před 6 lety +1

      LS_scape Always when places are closed!
      The internal latch is just an emergency release and no more.
      If it won’t lock it may need a new latch mechanism but power and grounds would need to be checked at the latch connector to verify this. (Just in case it has a broken wire somewhere)

      Do you know the part number or size of the two screws holding the lock? One is not letting go and I might have to wear it out / destroy it to get it out. It will need replacement of course.

    • @caleidoo
      @caleidoo Před 6 lety

      And.... now the replacement lock is giving the same problems: I can't lock the booth. Only after doing a couple of really hard tries and poking into the lock. I know now the end is near. Somewhere in the next couple of days, I won't be able to lock it anymore. I see no other option but to also replace the button. Might be the cause of it. First go for the cheapest possible solution. It surely can't be that within 6 months, two locks wear out or break down, now? But on the other hand, I can't see how a "bad" button can break lock mechanisms. One other possibility is that the replacement lock was bad. But it looked brand new. So yeah, nice situation.
