      Heck No ... even though it is a sleek design, it appears to be not very beneficial to the everyday family. It doesn’t compare to SUVs or even, a 4 Door Truck. I love my 4dr Buick SUV. It has big comfy seats, lots of Cargo Space, can even drive on back country roads and it’s great for city, long trips and country driving. The Car Manufacturers need to get away from all of the computerized crap in vehicles that is not necessary and only drives up the price of vehicles. They are only benefiting the Dealership or the Car Repair Service when it needs work.
      Simple and Basic Please !

    Absolutely would buy one... only problem .. call it a chevelle lol .. gm brought back the camaro, nova , caprice, impala, mailbox, where the actual fuck is the chevelle .. bring back a rwd/awd, 2, 4 and wagon version .. call it rhe chevelle .. 4, tt6 cylinder and v8 options . If the majority are 4 door tt6 cylinder or 4 cylinder youd significantly lower rhe price of the v8 models . Gm says people don't want cars ... bullshit .. you and Ford can't make a car people want . Honda (accord n civic) Toyota (camry n corolla) BMW, benz, etc etc etc all sell a significant amount of cars .. gm n Ford can't and won't because they can't produce one that's reliable and people want

    The holy grail of the Country Squire crowd is a sheet of plywood flat with the tailgate closed. That became the creed of Mini Vans ending with the fold flat Dodge/Chrysler mini vans of late. Will the Nomad meet Country Squire standards maybe with the dual open tailgate? What the Mini Vans missed is the Open like a door, drop like a truck, roll down Tailgate window.. the true first 8 seater.

A full sized (or mid sized) two door wagon with a LT and manual transmission would be a no brainer for me, so long as it is NOT a Camaro with a high roof on the back. Alpha platform (Camaro and Cadillac CT sedans) with distinct body styling and interior would be a must to have me consider it. No Nomad van or Nomad truck or Nomad SUV.

    Only 1% of the people that say they would buy one, would actually buy one, if that many. A 2 door model would be a complete flop. It may look cool, but it is too impractical. When Dodge brought out the Magnum, there was a huge amount of people that said they would buy it, but it didn’t happen. Mostly because it was the men who wanted it in place of the SUV or minivan that was sitting in their driveways. Unfortunately, their “better halves” didn’t agree with them and they were the ones that would be driving them. Most women prefer SUVs over any other vehicle right now, they like the seating height and they think they are safer because of the size of the SUV.
    The first design would have limited success, at the expense of Camaro sales. It would actually be a more practical Camaro that you could actually have a “real” backseat and some usable storage area. It could possibly gain some buyers from the import hatchback market, but not enough to make it a success. If a car isn’t going to make a good profit, the manufacturer won’t make it. Having a vehicle sharing as much parts from another model does allow for it to not sell as well and stay alive. If it wasn’t for the fact that the Dodge Magnum shared basically all the parts from the Charger and the 300, minus the sheet metal, it probably wouldn’t have been made. I think that a new Magnum that shared the front sheet metal and the doors with the Charger could be profitable and makes sense. The Camaro based design would be close, except it wouldn’t share the base platform, having to be built on a extended wheelbase. If you used the Camaro’s wheelbase, it would be more like an European “shooting brake” design.

    • @talis84
      @talis84 Před 2 lety

      Even the shooting brake would be a nice change in the mix. You are 100% correct though, the numbers just don't add up and I would doubt any manufacture would actually spend the money to develop it and bring one to market with such a limited buying pool.

    @americanrambler4972 Před 2 lety

    I like the concept and overall layout of the nomad, but it is too low and fat. I don’t think we need a new road scraper that looks fast and cannot be driven anywhere on a real regular road with the head room of a mail box slot. I would swap out the low rear roof for an Oldsmobile vista cruiser or Buick sport wagon style roof from the 1960’s generation models and give it a bright airy greenhouse. I like the Camaro style front end. (Not the fat cheek transformer Silverado truck looking one, but the sleek one.) my requirement for a station wagon is that it can haul real station wagon stuff home from the grocery store and Home Depot. Not just look good. And not look like a van or pickup, but a real car.
