  • We made OUR OWN FPV Motors! rotorriot.com/hypetrain
    Chad recently got back from a trip to China where he got to meet with some manufacturers and see how different quad parts were made. Brother Hobby took him through an assembly of their motors, and now Chad and Tommy are here to share the process with you and your curious mind.

    Thank you guys, a fantastic video shining a light on the mystery of manufacturing parts for our hobby. I have to admit that up to this point in time I always picture a young Chinese person building parts out of a tiny garage while holding a cigarette on the corner of his mouth, a cup of tea almost empty over the bench and his wife cooking noodle soup on the background. Great information, thanks

    What you call continuity check is actually a High Voltage Electrical Insulation Test ( HighPot Test) and it is part of the safety precautions and measurements. This test verifies that the insulation of a product or component is sufficient to protect the operator from electrical shock, also identify insulation deterioration due to poor manufacture practices before the product make it to the customers. Excellent video BTW!

      Looks like a regular factory production to me. Sliders for car seats have a tolerance of .003mm. For me it just confirmed that they do stuff the proper way, don't get me worng on this one, i'm still in ave for all the manufacturing process. I have a deep respect for all the production workers, it all seems so simple and easy to make in the end. People barely think about all the people and time that is put in the process of making something that they just take for granted.

    • @MrGriff3737
      @MrGriff3737 Před 7 lety

      It's not so must the tolerances that they use its the fact that if the part doesn't meet those tolerances they throw it out instead of trying to modify it to work, and also the parts that they get from out side (e.g. the barrings) they have thir own QC on those too and don't use the ones that don't meet their criteria

    • @coconutfpv
      @coconutfpv Před 7 lety

      Those are all normal production procedure. If something doesn't fit/meet the criteria, you throw it out/send it back on reclamation to provider and bill him for it. It takes way more time to fine tune/fix something small than to make a whole thing again. If you run a company it's just more time and money efficient. Also the providers of parts are rated and if the provider is known for supplying a bad parts you just break the deal with him, which usually results in quite a big fine for not fulfilling the agreement. As a final assembly line and branding company BH is doing a regular manufacturing job, there's nothing special in throwing bad parts away, after all they're going to be blamed or praised for the final product so it's in their interest to use only good products.
