    Also, as far as a cleansing balm goes what wax would you recommend, o/w?

    • @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401

      Sunflower wax is quite a hard wax; it would compare to the rice bran wax in many ways, just double check the melting point of the material you can source against the rice bran wax to make sure. For a cleansing balm, please watch our video: How to make cleansing balms: czcams.com/video/rD_hdr8KXw8/video.html You might also find our Create Cosmetic Formulas program useful, it helps you select the right materials and then put the formula together: czcams.com/video/6HWMilZR5NM/video.html

    Beeswax is an emulsifier? That's so interesting. I couldn't find information about its hlb. I thought it wasn't an emulsifier. Could you please make a video about it?

    • @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401
      @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401  Před 3 lety +2

      Its how the traditional cold creams of the Elizabethan era were made. They don’t feel nice like our current emulsifiers do, but it was all they had at the time. Still, beeswax does have a low HLB (around 5) and can support other emulsifiers with their activity. It is not sufficient on its own. I might add this to the list as a bit of a historical revisit… but its certainly not elegant like the emulsifiers we can get today, and its not enough on its own.
