    These men buried the hatchet as they say back then, but our morons of today are busily ripping the bandages from those old wounds at a feverish pace with each monument they tear down or remove!

    • @Pppppppppppppppppk
      @Pppppppppppppppppk Před 3 měsíci

      To say they buried the hatchet willingly is quite absurd and ahistorical. They had to be forced at gun points to allow former slaves to vote. Their political radicals killed the president. And they formed gangs to intimidate black people from voting. The idea that confederates all went home and lived in peace is another Myth pulled by lost cause believers. They went home and resisted progress more with the same kind of violence. It’s not a coincidence that once DC rolled back reconstruction both share cropping and Jim Crow began in the south

    Experience with my own family has led me to understand brother against brother. You would consider my dad and I conservative and my two brothers liberal. If a divide in the nation were to happen today we would be on opposite sides from one another. In times past I spent a lot of time learning about the war and WWII. I am about to reach sixty and I am warred out so to speak. I love what you are doing and want you to keep it going. It is amazing to me that many of these men were born just decades after the final formation of the Federal Government.

      "Civil War" is factually incorrect and is a product of Yankee history revisionists. The war was a war between two countries, the United States of America and the Confederate States of America. The term "War Between the States" is correct as is "The Second Revolution". The Confederacy did not seek to overthrow the US govt in any way, they simply wanted to leave the union and form their own country. A true civil war would suppose a conflict in which two factions fought each other for control of one country.

      And here we are, modern men clinging to wrong causes, thinking they are waging a war and winning against veterans who have long since left the plain of battle. It’s not up to your judgement what heaven looks like to any man, perhaps there is no heaven at all to yell in, but I digress. What sins of your country will history judge you for? That you separated families from their children, provided arms to militant countries who inflicted genocide with said arms, who bombed innocents to feed your desire for consumption? History is a tricky mistress, time will allow for your judgement. At any rate, for productivity’s sake, the war these men fought is over, there are more pressing issues at hand.
