- A buddy-cop movie that's inside the human body should be interesting and enjoyable under the right circumstances. But with what we got, that's only half true.

This film has become a Cult Classic, has a large internet fan base and inspired a real Buffalo Wing Fest in Buffalo, New York.
Fun Fact:This was originally given a PG-13,but Warner Bros edited the film to make it more for kids and family’s.
he already explained it in the video
Among the deleted scenes, or more specifically deleted content from the story, was the two investigating in Frank’s Testicles. That alone is not PG rated, but I guess even if it did end up being PG 13 that still wouldn’t make the cut.
And guess what? It's actually the 2011 remake that was given a PG-13 rating.
@@carlossoto1715, Testicles??? Ewww!!!
Believe it or not this film helped inspire my cell project in high school biology where I made like the nucleus city hall, the mitochondria the power plant, and incorporated them into other parts of the cell places that would fit a normal city or town.
The villain was the best part of this movie, hands-down. Someone on another video theorized Thrax is a bioweapon that got loose, and it makes a lot of sense! Normal viruses just want to multiply and spread, which killing the host too quickly works against since they need living cells for that. Thrax explicitly wants to improve how quickly he can kill, and is content infecting just one host at a time. If you were making a bioweapon, you would want it to kill efficiently, but also be restricted enough to only kill the people you want it to.
His name is derived from Anthrax, a very deadly virus. But I also read that he was supposed to also represent Scarlet Fever.
If you want to see a better execution of this concept, I would recommend the anime, "Cells at Work"!
Ah yes Cells at Work, where blood cells bleed and Cancer when from a victim of circumstance Tumblr sexyman (that later part will not be WTFery to me, WTF is wrong with this fanbase) to a cartoon villain. But yea otherwise mostly great. Same with the spinoff, Cells At Work! [Code] Black, though it might be a bit too nihilistic for some people's tastes based on the only season of the anime released so far (though now that Jojo's Part 6 is over, David Production will probably cycle through and do more Cells At Work like the last two times).
I second that!
Like everyone else, I first knew it as an animated series on Cartoon Network and didn't know it was based on an animated movie a couple of years later. And the reason why Ozzy and Drix moved into the body of a Cuban boy: Hector is because the creators knew that Frank is a disgusting and unlikable barf bag as a person.
And shockingly, Frank just went back to being a slob by the start of that series.
Hector was way better than Frank. He could still poor decisions for his health, but he learns from them albeit almost dying some of the time, but still.
@@carlossoto1715 one could view the cartoon as an alternate universe as Leah doesn't get a mention
Once again, you really know how pull off great movie reviews.
Thrax is the best non-Disney villain ever. With a top notch design, a lot of memorable moments, and pure menace behind him as he manages to do the dirty work all by himself. You can tell that Lawrence Fishburne is having fun with this performance, and it shows. Because this character is great.
Am i the only one that wish we saw Shane's whiteblood cells ? Like at the end during the Hike we see them being proud of Frank changing his lifestyle
Pretty good review and I recommend Cells and Work and Code Black for this plot done better, though that Will Smith-Chris Rock incident actually wasn’t due to making offensive jokes about oppressed people.
To be fair, Billy Murray was a jerk to his on screen daughter, Shane. And this movie was my version of Space Jam as a kid as well.
Hey could media Hunter review ghostbusters (1984)
The movie whose tv spinoff I’ve heard more about than the actual film.
the nostalgia critic review this movie and said that it was a ripoff of inside out but other than take place inside the body it very different it like saying antz is a ripoff of a bugs life aside both films having ant main characters its very different flim also I had no idea it had a tv show all I know is there's an episode where ozzy gets pregnant and that's as far as I want to know about it
😂ha! Inside out is about the MIND. This is about the body system. Calling them rip-offs is stupid, please don’t listen to that idiot 😅
@Gracekim24 I stop watching after all that drama happens at channel awesome came out
A film about the human anatomy, long before it reached mainstream interest. Being traditionally animated by Warner Bros, it was doomed to fail. And now we’re all here wishing Ozzy could save all of us from the COVID.
Here’s some additional material also: some of the deleted scenes would’ve resulted in this film being more gross than it already is. For example, in the Nose scene, Frank actually picks his nose when it gets runny before sniffing. And the scene with Ozzy getting donuts and information originally took place in one of the eyes, where Drix gets his first glimpse at Frank and is rightfully disgusted by something he does. And even though there was originally some mild language present, the only instance of this that was memorable was Ozzy saying “What the Hell is a Uvula?” Oh, and that scene also saw him and Drix ride a burp up to the mouth, which explains how they got there before Thrax.
I know White blood cell and co saved us from COVID in the cells and work manga.
2 years after my blog after i got fully vaccinated ...... nice job issac
Hope to see you review a great movie like 2022's best film Puss in Boots The Last Wish. I think it not only was the best animated film of 2022 (even beating The Bob's Burgers Movie, which I thought was amazing) but the best film of 2022 PERIOD. Just the story, the characters, the humor, the animation, the message....just wow it blew me away. I was expecting to enjoy it, but not absolutly love it the way I ended up doing.
Cells at Work and Code Black did this concept better. Also no real world human stuff.
Bill Murray played Peter Venkman in Ghostbusters
0:23 I didn't know there was a hyperbolic time chamber in Su- oh no here come the guards noticing my illusion, asking what I am hiding.
Insert bill Murray joke here.
You did NOT just diss on real-life police! Not all real-life cops are corrupt, you know.
actually that's a pretty good movie I saw that when I was a kid
Same here
Having watched the film some time after the tv series, I will say the latter works a lot better: Thanks in no small part to the fact that the character the duo end up in, a teen named Hector, is more likable out the gate and provides a more likable supporting cast up to and including the mayor of Hector.
Consequently human stuff works better with Hector which in turn justified it as a necessary evil for the film.
I remember wacthing this movie in my sciences class we also had to take a test while wacthing (which in my opinion is the worst way to take a test not only do you have to take a test but you also have to pay attention because if you missed the answer to the question you can't go back) I also remember a boy in my class almost throwing up during the zit pop scene but for a my befit thoughts on it the animation part was great awesome villain live action part where super cringe I would give a 7/10
I thought I was the only one who had to do that
There was a Cartoon show that expands on the original I recommend it since I watched it in the 2000's
I used to like watching Osmosis Jones when Teletoon aired it back in the 2000's. I was mainly an animation fan, so I enjoyed it for the animation bits... which were really well animated! Nowadays... yeah. I don't care for this... I haven't seen it in ages, but I'm not getting an HBOMAX Sub just to see a somewhat messy live-action/animation film. At least it had an entertaining villain.
I wonder what a sequel would had been.
6:47 Wait, the Ron Howard?
21:56 insert obvious Will Smith Slap Joke here
I wonder if Adam Sandler was originally cast as Frank because of the gross out humor? I wouldn't B surprised if it was.
yeah.
This makes innerspace look like cool world (live action/animation)
anyone else remembered watching once upon a time life cartoon series that spawned the how my body works books, which done a better job about things inside the human body, and yes the white blood cells does have things that look like a white pac-man in that series
It is possible to make a slob likable look at Ed Lana , Phil and Lil and Pig Pen .
I remember this and the tv show.
God this movie….this movie traumatized me as a kid
Thrax is one of the most terrifying villains in animated movies along side Death and Frollo
@@soulkeeperaj2007 YES
@@soulkeeperaj2007 you mean the Big Bad Wolf version of death.
Anyone remember the animated series based on this movie? Ozzy And Dryx?
I'd some what remembered this movie of Osmosis Jones manly with Bill Murray and the animated parts with Chis Rock is hilarious
I also remember the tv series: Ozzy & Drix
Nightmare fuel 9:26
Freaking scary
Fun fact: This movie, had a TV series, but it wasn't very good, and it had an episode, where Osmosis became "pregnant" with a virus or something like that...yep, they freaking did male pregnancy...
Am I the only one who thinks this movie bears eerie semblance to 2020?
The world (when it wasn’t gross) was pretty inventive, Jones is a character you can root for, Drix was a fun one, and Thrax is without a doubt one of the coolest and all time memorable villains to ever exist!
Everything else I didn’t really care about either that much or at all, but those elements still makes it a film worth a watch, and for people like me, more than once. ☺️
You forgot too mentioned that Kid Rock was in this Movie.
Besides Isaacs weird Police idealogy & not understanding the context behind the Will Smith slap, pretty good review of a childhood fav
I wonder if Bill Murray is Ozzy's micro cell? (Antman 3)
Note to everyone: Do not watch this movie while eating.
Watching the film for the first time made me hungry for chicken wings.
I highly recommend checking out SonicddrFreak's response video to Doug Walker's review of it. Because aside from being informative, manage to be what he's not, funny!
18:53 Uuuh... Oooookaaaaayyyyyyy
Hello again 😊
I don't know how long time have gone between the end of the movie and the 1st episode of the tv serie, but Frank looked like he had became a bigger slob in episode 1 that his daughter wouldn't help him longer.
Perhaps it was some time after she graduated high school and moved out
Can you look at The Sonic OVA 🦔🤖
A room that time stay still while real time is minute that awesome as hack
Forget DreamWorks meme
Can you look at Halo Legends 👽👾🔫💀
Ozzy and Drix did it better
Inside Out did it better
Man i liked this film...and Chris Rock before his disgusting joke at JPS!
