Osmosis Jones is yet another underrated film that didn’t get much attention when it was still in theaters back in 2001.
While all the action is happening with a white blood cell cop and a cold pill inside a zookeeper’s body, it reflects on the outside world in various ways.
I recall there being a theory that Thrax might be a bioengineered virus that got loose, given his only concern is killing the host in the shortest and quickest amount of time, rather than spreading like most viruses do.
First I've heard of it, but I can honestly believe that.

The house used in the movie was about 100 yards from my house. Some of us hung around there to watch the filming and one evening the Farrelly brothers called in an ice cream truck and treated the onlookers to ice cream, thanking the neighbors for being patient with the filming. Pretty cool.

Thrax is the chillest villain ever.
Fun fact: Thrax is voiced by Lawrence Fishburne, who was also Morpheus in The Matrix movies, which Thrax was modeled after, you know, to look like him, and the Second and third John Wick movies.
Now I'm waiting for Thrax to appear in Multiversus.

I had a huuuge crush on Thrax as a young girl lol, he was such a cool villain. Also if you're looking for underrated aninmated films, I STRONGLY recommend "WolfWalkers"! It's by an Irish studio and it's beautifully 2D with a very sketchy style. Great story too, and relevant to Irish folklore.
Your profile picture next to talking about your crush on Thrax (no shame I felt the same) made me cackle like a madwoman. But I agree WolfWalkers is amazing, and the studios other films Secret of Kells, The Breadwinner, and Song of the Sea are also amazing!

This movie was originally gonna be for mature audiences only, but if I remember correctly the people in charge of the live action segments had something to do with it becoming a kids movie instead; btw be careful if you ever decide to listen to this movies soundtrack, some of the songs are quite adult and there's one that has a very questionable line in it
Yep. The song is Cool, Daddy Cool by Kid Rock. I was listening the full song one day and when I heard one part near the end I was like “Wait what?!”

At the first viewing, I was more confused by Thrax than some vulgar moments. Maybe because of Fishburne's voice, the character sounds bewitching.

This movie traumatized me as a child and turned me into a germaphobe. I literally thought there were talking creatures inside of our bodies, lol. This and the nutty professor, which also had a lot of gross out body humor, made my stomach turn

Ohhh "Osmosis Jones" is another movie I remember that I used to enjoyed from my childhood, if you like to know there is an Cartoon Network show based on the movie "Ozzy and Drix".
Honestly the animated scenes were the best parts for me
Not that I don’t like the live action parts, because I do, but as an Anim nerd, I do think this movie would’ve been better if it was 100% animated.

For another pack of comedies to react to, I highly recommend the Austin Powers movie trilogy. They’re very hilarious spy parodies.
Another underrated classic comedy that I hadn't seen in a long time since I was in middle school, and it was for a biology project! I'm glad you made this reaction choice, Timothee, and I'm especially glad you had Miss Duaffy to watch along with you! I hope you both collaborate on another movie reaction again soon. In fact, maybe you could add these recommendations that I also watched back in middle school: Akeelah and the Bee, Slumdog Millionaire, Labyrinth with David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly, Space Jam, Remember the Titans, The Mask of Zorro, and The Iron Giant. I really hope you will consider them, and at least one of them with Duaffy!

It’s been a while since I’ve seen Osmosis Jones! Sometimes, I forget that there’s live action footage in this movie. Reminds me a lot of another film that has the same shtick, that being The Pagemaster(which I recommend you to check out btw). Thanks for the reaction, Tim!
There is a lot of cringe from the body functions but it was still quite educational, so much that it got a much less gross spinoff where Ozzy and Drix ended up inhabiting a teenage kid's body, Hector.
Thrax was a great villain though, Laurence Fishburne was a chameleon in his role as Thrax

They made a cartoon show follow-up to this called "Ozzy & Drix". It's a kids' show, but it isn't bad!
Our mom, a then nurse in training at the time, used this film as an example of hygiene and how the body works.

This is that movie you saw in science class.
Kid Rock made a song for this movie that is highly questionable. Cool, Daddy Cool. The line is- Kid Rock: “young ladies young ladies I like em underage see. Some say that’s statutory” Joe C: “But I say it’s mandatory”. Yeah. I wanna like the song cause it’s a good beat but that line ruins it and has me going “Why am I listening to this?”
I remember this movie and TV show, if I do remember correctly, the movie was a prequel to the show.
I don't know if you watched it but the Treasure Planet or Atlantis are great movies but underrated. If you haven't you should check them out.
Treasure Planet is even more underrated than Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Both movies are Disney masterpieces in my opinion.

The dinosaur ride at Animal Kingdom scared me when I was a kid. I still don’t like it to this day.
A tv series followed this and it was more kid oriented and all animated. Frank went back to his old habits and got fat. A mosquito sucks up blood that ends up taking Osmosis & Drix with it. The mosquito lands on a young boy and is splat sending the 2 into the boy’s system and Osmosis & Drix end up working there. Show didn’t last too long

@@sweetoil2952 yeah it aired in the Kids WB hour on Saturday mornings. Oz & Drix was the title. Neither actor in the movie who voiced the 2 were in the show (some episodes were uploaded on here). First shot of the of the first episode is Frank looking all gross in some grudge apartment. Wearing what I wanna say is a grey tank top but chances are it was white and now looks grey cause he hardly showers. He’s munching some chips or pork rinds. Chances are his daughter was removed from him since we don’t see her. Frank is never seen again once Oz & Drix land in the little boy’s body. There wrote in that the white blood cells in that boy (remember they’re basically the police) helped alter Osmosis so he can match the kid and Drix he’s a cold pill so he can travel anywhere and he’s passed he’s full use
I do embrace the ten second rule, I've done it all my life. Never gotten sick. But that's just taking it to far. I would not have eaten that egg after that.

Villains used to be so terrifying and menacing, no redemption arcs especially with White Diamond and WD is the best example because the way they handled her is stupid and takes away the buildup of everything including Corrupting Gems and Forced Fusions. Also when I say menacing and terrifying, I mean truly that and not like Bill, he just doesn't have the same fear factor as Thrax or even my favorite villain, X.A.N.A. and X.A.N.A. is leagues more than those two.
lmfao Frank's brother said he would take care of Shane until she was 16 and then he'd throw her out of the house. Frank's worst nightmare won't happen.

This is by FAR my fave movie out there, it is funny, the animation is great, however I wish there was even more animation then there is! and I WISH they'd get a sequel! The series were okay but, love the movie!

Thrax is NOT scarlet fever! Scarlet Fever was seen in the first episode of Ozzy and Drix, and he was voiced by Tim Curry.
