Dan is starting to realize that many of us watch EVERY episode and crossover because we simply like Dan the Nice Person and the whole Hurd Herd family! We may be in the CZcams minority, but we are a very faithful bunch.
I started seeing videos from MBMMC and went to Ghost Town Living before finding Dan, and Dan is probably my favorite of the three.
Thank you for posting this video. It shows the reality of panning for gold. Somedays you can find nothing and sometimes you find a lot. Finding nothing makes the time you find some that much better.

I enjoy watching you searching for the gold. Yes it’s great when you find it. But it’s also good that you show the hard truth that you don’t find it everywhere and all the time. Unlike some of the channels you show the truth of prospecting.

It was a big ask giving yourself an hr to find a picker. I'm sure mother nature has a sixth sense and knows when it's 'just a quick pan' so she gives a little to keep you searching. Great video to show how much the prospector is not in control. Love your work Dan, keep them coming.

This video shows reality. I think that often people are so used to seeing gold that IS found on YT channels...that they are fooled into believing it's easy and you can find it all the time. The reality is that sometimes you put all the effort in...and have very little success. Great video. It might not glitter ...but the real content is still gold.

I like watching you on your adventure of gold panning. You have such beautiful countryside to work in and enjoy the out of doors. I enjoy seeing and hearing the river, seeing the mountains and rocks. These are things not available to me at this time.

Thanks for taking the time to share this with us even when nothing of note was found, Dan. I’m new to this so pretty much find very little to nothing every time I go out so seeing someone with your extended knowledge miss out occasionally gives me hope that it’s not always me doing something wrong.
I love to see videos with no gold, makes us appreciate more the work and what it takes to be a gold prospector, sometimes you win sometimes you enjoy the day
For what it's worth, I really enjoyed the fact that you are always positive and upbeat in your videos, but seeing the less than great moments reminds me that the people I aspire to be like are humble men as well. Can't imagine i'm the only person who doesn't care if he gets any gold. I enjoy listening to the information Dan provides and the great shots of the areas he prospects. I'd rather 10x more videos with no gold personally (although the gold is great too!)

Love the sound of the river and the awesome geology of these rocks. Cleaning out the crevices and scraping soil off the vertical rock plates, while preserving the moss, was fascinating to watch.
Trying to rush through such a process is probably never a good idea - it only creates unnecessary stress.

Everyday isn't sunshine, lollipops and rainbows. You need some days like this to really appreciate the ones where you come up golden.
In the first few minutes, it looked like you were going to pan your camera. Should have left it in the pan, it would have been the most valuable thing in there! Anyway, your good humor even in the face of disappointment makes the videos worthwhile. Don't delete these - it's important to let people know that not every day prospecting brings pans full of gold. I don't really watch these for the gold, it is the adventure and the beautiful BC scenery (and the trains).
