I just bought a dbx px, and this is all that my system was lacking. I run two JBL EON 515s and two JBL 518s. The base from the subs were so-so, but after rigging this unit up, I blew the doors off of my garage! Wow! The only thing that I wasnt happy with was the fact that there was no presets for the speakers that I run, but I tried the very last setting, which is good enough for me. Dont have the time to screw around with the whole mic setup thing. Im good to go!
@bigsash Yes it will. The signal of the driverack goes to an amplifier. It doesn't matter if it is build in the speakers (powered) or external (non-powered/passive)
I just bought one of these and I'm using it with the Behringer B815NEO's and B1800 sub. I thought the speakers were good on their own but when you add the PX to the mix the sound quality is on another level!!! Louder, crisper and much more punch in the bottom end. @gunnyranger2 - Yes you can save up to 25 presets for different venues. So only one pink noise experience for each venue!!!
I have not seen your video you took at the model tram show and your bus ride too. It was brilliant to see you too. Now I know why Chris at the £1.00 burger bar charged me £1.50 as I had a cheese burger.
@mysticradio I've been thinking the same thing. The Drive Rack does pink noise the room though, which can be very helpful. It uses that to set the EQ properly. I wouldn't use the presets if I got it, a 400 dollar product shouldn't have an idiot button.
I have the DBX PA+ Tri-Amped with JBL VRX 932 and 918's. The only way I could get happy with pinking the room was to place the RTA mic 25 feet or so in front of one stack and then mute the other stack. Doing it any other way would sound horrible. I lay the RTA mic on a rug facing the stack. FYI, if your using speaker tunings the PA+ did not offer enough PEQ's for my speaker tunings. Installing the tunings into the amps fixed that. PA+ crossovers must be set to full pass for this.
I'm in a new band that is using one of these. We have a sound man. He keeps cranking pink noise out the mains for about 15 minutes at every show, and pissing of the people at the venue... is this necessary?
You didn't understand my comment for a guy with non powered speakers in a stereo 3 WAY system; that's why I recomended using DR PA over PX, but you CAN use PX in a 2 way (Mono or stereo) non powered system; setting px crossover (It does have one)according to speakers specs. Dig?
Well I didn't mention the mono "feature" 'cause any stereo is a "two mono" system. Think they would not make a 3 way PX because there are no powered horns, (Highs), price may be another reason. I have a PX w/Non powered JBL MRX's/Crown amps, since there is not a preset; for these I have to customize the system and works great, without paying for the DR PA, What I don't like about PX is the SubHarm and compressor but the rest is worth the price. Regards
@pitudo69 PA and PX can both do stereo or mono. PA Series are built for non powered speakers, PX is built for powered speakers. PA series has a crossover, PX series doesn't need one. Dig?
It does not. Check the dbx manufacturer website for a full listing of speaker presets. Go to "DriveRack PX" page then under "RESOURCES" there is "Literature" that has a "Tuning List." Cheers
I don't think why you cant, the only thing is that you need the Driverack PA instead of the PX 'cause the latter is for stereo 2-way systems and the PA is for mono or stereo 3-Way.
Dug. Why would they make the PA do 3 way and the PX do 2 way? Your first comment says the PA can do Mono/Stereo and the PX can only do Stereo, but your last post says the opposite.
I need your help for the best Driverack PX configuration with my Mackie speakers. In the beginning of the path i use a Mackie 1640i mixer which Main L and R outs go to DRIVERACK PX in's. At the end of the path are my MACKIE SR1530 (2x) tops and MACKIE SWA 1801 subs (2x). SWA1801 sub has a volume control knob but the SR1530 don't...when "on" they are at full power... My first question is : should i connect them as "satelite" (where the sr1530 is fed by the swa1801 high pass filter) or use all Driverack PX's main and sub outputs directly to each speaker? My second question is : Since SR1530 don't have a volume control know how do i adjust Balance and Speakers Levels? What's the best configuration possible for these speakers?
is it possible to use this drive rack with the yamaha Dsr 215 tops, Dsr118W subs???....i checked the list of speakers compatible with this rack, and the Dsr line is not part of that list...
On the AFS set up.. what is your suggestion on the Feedback setup? is it all F F F F F F or L L L L L L L? let me know what is your set up on this? thanks a lot..
I have the qsc k12's and Ksubs. Will this work and I also have the dbx 231 eq and wondering if this overkill with drive rack? What do you suggest? Thanks
Don't use eq ,231, go to your eq. On dbx. Use s mic at pa. Where out front or on stage do front house first. Go thru all vocal mic .. And you figure rest out.and then do monitors. It'd best have dbx for Maine and one for monitor. .
hi i'm running mackie swa1801 subs and srm450 tops. what is the best config for this ie should i run as satelite using sub cross over or run seperate outputs to both tops and subs as the 450 are in the list. if so what sub preset would be compatible as the 1801's are not listed. should i set as a custom. sorry for so many questions but the dbx support site won't accept my enquiry
ok a few things, tried setting up and screwed it up. Can reset the system again an start from scratch? Then, how would you recommend setting up cable config with a dbx 266xl noisegate/compressor in the mix? I have mixer board, power opt, and 1 266xl. The Kubs and K12 are usually daisy chained do you recommend not and having the subs go directly to power opt? Final question is I ran into freq setup for subs? On Ksubs playing classic rock and small to med bars, what do u recommend? Thanks
I have 4 speakers, the DBX only shows set up for two speakers, how do i set up for 4 speakers? how to wire it when 2 speaker on the front and 2 in the back of the hall. Thank you.
anyone can suggest.. on the AFS .. what is the set up you usually do..is it. all F F F F F F F or L L L L L L L? Let me know, what is the best feed back suppression set up.. thanks
Man this dude travels fast to different lands!

Yes there is a preset for most HPR speakers
There is a preset for RCF ART 312 speakers. Unfortunately, they do not have a preset for RCF subs, but you can set those up manually.

It will be mixer, but it`s strongly necessary to control left and right EQ`s independently. Other words: i need "Dual Mono" mode.
@pitudo69 PA and PX can both do stereo or mono.

curious could i run passive subs with a power amp in low and powered mains at the same time ,and do you really need the RTA MIC ,THANKS IN ADVANCE
Those will work great.
I don't think why you cant, the only thing is that you need the Driverack PA instead of the PX 'cause the latter is for stereo 2-way systems and the PA is for mono or stereo 3-Way.
Press the NEXT PAGE button!!! NOW!
haha ;-)
Not from the Driverack, what source will you be using?

Hey! can i adjust left and right channel EQ independently? Thank you.
hey if i have like that. can i still put the equalizer in main output of driverack going to my speakers?
el PX es para estereo 2-way y el PA es para estero o mono 3-way, por lo cual el PA seria mejor para ti. Donde vives?
