Nice job Mak there’s been a lot of beetles around this summer and I like this simple pattern. I’m headed to the bench right now to tie a few up. Thank you
Thank you David, I know pal I have been asked this so many time, I can't find time because this year I am very busy working, I will shoot my fishing Videos once I find time, hopefully soon :))
Nice! I used to use peacock feathers too but switched to sewing thread or yarn (depends on beetle size) with fluorescent color for body under foam. And I think it works way better.
This pattern always works very well. I too have tied many flies. Once you're into this sort of hobby it is super hard to get out! Plus there's nothing like fishing and being able to use your own fies... I've also lost quite a bit of eye sight doing so. Especially when the number of units made is more than 50.000!! The challenging ones to make when one first starts off are the size#'s 20 and smaller. That's where I've lost quite a bit of eye sight. I mean, meaning that I now use 🤓 where before fly tying I didn't have to ... Oh but sooo worth it!! Lol 🎣
Thank you so much friend, I totally agree with you, It is a passion, fly tying & fishing makes me exciting , I have lost most of my eye sight, but it is worth it, keep up the good work, Regards,, Mak :))
Nice video! for the legs I prefer hand brush horse hair fibres cos they are thinner, naturally black brown and more natural compared to these rather bulky silly legs... tight lines!
Nice one Mak! A very effective pattern - I use these in #12 for panfish and #8 for bass. Thanks for posting!
Thank you Hank, I am glad you like it :))
