- Are you on a budget and looking for a cheap aquarium filter option? You may have come across the Boxtech Air-Driven Filter, which costs just £15.99. But is it really worth your money?
In this video, I share my honest review of the Boxtech Air-Driven Filter and explain why I don't recommend it.
First, I go over the filter's features, including its sponge and biological media, and its duckbill-style outflow. On paper, it seems like a good filter, but in practice, I encountered several problems with it. I also address some of the positive reviews on Amazon and explain why they may not accurately reflect the filter's performance.
Next, I conduct a series of experiments with blue dye to test the filter's water circulation and flow rate. The results are surprising, and I share my observations on why the filter falls short in these areas.
Finally, I offer some advice on alternatives to the Boxtech Air-Driven Filter and explain why it's important to invest in a reliable aquarium filter. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned aquarist, I hope this video helps you make an informed decision about your filter purchase.

Otro maravilloso sistema que funciona con algo tan simple como el aire que proviene de un pequeño motor.
Always interested in these kinds of things. If I didn't hold myself back, I am sure I would be making all sorts of fantastical designs.
I am sure, that it is possible to make an effective, flat, unobtrusive and effective air powered filter.
As my double sponge filter doesn't seem to do much but polish the water anyway, I have been tempted to replace it with a couple of Hygger Space Saver filters. With the cartridges replaced by sponge. However, it doesn't appear to be much smaller or take up less space than the double sponge filters.
I modified 4 of them with powerheads low & behold.... Eureka!!
Appreciate your honesty allot, the problem it not designed for shrimp cause of the wide holes in the body as i see .
What's your opinion ?
Yeah, I agree. Don't think it'd be appropriate for Shrimp. 👍
Looks like it needs some help.... thanks for the review!
👍✌️🇨🇦
Is your background CGI..😊
I’m guessing he moved his fish room upstairs a few weeks ago during the recent snow?
It looks like he got a lot more snow there compared to me!
That has me thinking that the small usb pump version of the box tech filter could be good to have during a power cut.
Start with a green screen and then the best background is limitless and I have been known to have a few times when I was guilty for being a source of misinformation 🖼
Hi Guys, sorry been away for a long weekend. It's not CGI, nor is it a green screen. It's also not a real window.... Lol.
I am not convinced. 😕
Agreed!
He doesn’t fill the tank up with water so the the filter works 100% he’s tricking everyone but me
Its rubbish and pointless
