- Nestled amidst a shimmering expanse of water, this house is a true aquatic haven.
Imagine if you have a big plot of land, and you dont need it to be more than a single storey, how would you build it? Todays episode let us bring you through this home, called the R House, designed by Dr. Ken Yeang
Ken Yeang is an architect, ecologist, planner and arthor from Malaysia, best known for his ecological architecture and eco masterplans that have a distinctive green aesthetic. He pioneered an ecology-based architecture, working on the theory and practise of sustainable design.
Some would maximise the build up value and build a mansion, some choose to live modestly and contented, what are your preference?

Single loading and creative use of space appropriately is so under rated compared to the typical need to build multi storey "palatial" homes with excessive stacking of levels serviced by elevators, stairs and endless corridors that have overcome the plot leaving little to no setback, little to no garden, barely a driveway or garage where the self entitlement is to leave the cars on the street. This house serves as a home where the essentials are met without the need for pretension.
Simplicity and yet so practical. Beautiful home.
I have been waiting for this episode. Thanks for uploading 😁
wonderful design!!!
Beautiful house 🎉
Wow."because it's the right thing to do "❤
wonder if the water can really cool off the hot weather these days or make it worse like a sauna? 😅
The exterior is very mid century modern design.. simple and elegant!
Is this in ulu tiram? Would like to see it in person one day
Always a dream for single storey with such designs
It’s like resort living everyday.
Asian architecture always slaps!
I always wonder why in those house architects never use dripping edge on top of the perimeter walls. those beautiful white walls will get stains soon
😍😍😍😍
Can a concrete flat roof handle Malaysia's yearly rain without internal leakage?
awesome
My type of house. Only difference is I would not use sliding doors instead doors that disappear into the wall.
Pocket doors ❤
This is a good house for elders. A retirement house for us
nice nonetheless...
I still cannot get over the security/safety of JB...
Could you be explain
Is it bad?
Live a “Quiet Luxury” lifestyle. U should be fine. 😅
The pool tiles in green makes the place looks kinda "old" in my opinion. Otherwise the house is nice.
Anyone has the link the video on 10:37 please? Thank you
Here is the link to video of the house - It's Malay House - An Architect Own House.

@@pramodkankipati Thank you bro
I have to say that house is one of my favourites!
The high humidity would make it so hot to be in the house especially without aircond.
Wonderful design but idk if it fit Malaysia weather.
available for Airbnb
The owner don’t need the money
@@PYYYYYY I'm sure ◡̈ .. hahaha too bad couldn't experience the beauty except just thru the screen ..
don't understand why the rich always feel so insecured to the point they need to show off. 😅😅😅
Nice, but a building large and expensive, as this is, cannot be green.
I don’t like it. House architecture is rather plain and ugly. Swimming pool area is narrow and too close to house walls. No safe for any family with little children. This is far of being a green house but a cluttered design construction eating the land.
If I had that land space I would built up a higher house with two floors and attic. That would give much larger free space for swimming pool area, garden and home made horticulture. Architecture design will be accordingly to surrounding nature enhancing its beauty, blending well with it. Large Attic area will be having a vast library, relaxing area, terrace area, lots of natural light coming from crystal wall door in the terrace. Part of the attic ceiling design would be having a large window aperture so that one could contemplate the night stars....
"Pool too close to the house" is because the intention was to create floating pods.
@@krisztinafoo27 ; Yes but; What about little children safety?. What about humidity and bugs?.
