This is a biased review. There are several folks who are experiencing issues connecting or generating full resolutions with their MBP, regardless of its video graphic card configuration. I am suspicious of DailyTekk as he’s not commenting on these issues. I hope someone produces an honest, unbiased review of this machine along with the LG 34 Inch 5K2K monitor for Mac users.

I just can't imagine getting a 49". I just got the 38" and it's sooo big. But it's totally epic. And beforeI got it I was thinking that the 38" would be too much and now I don't. So I'm sure if I got this 49" my attitude would change and I'd probably be as obsessed with it as I am obsessed with my 38"

Great video. I am retired and new to Mac World with Mac Mini. I recently made the leap to a LG 34" UltraWide Monitor and loving it.
I liked it so much that recently i came across the exact monitor brand new for $170.00 ( which is 50% off ) and could not resist. I do not have the curved screen and also notice at times that positioning on the desk is important to avoid straining to see the far corners. Some many other things to enjoy with the bigger monitor. I am particularly curious how to set it up to simply change the Input on the monitor and have it quickly set up for another Discipline ( say Gaming as you mentioned for example). It sounded like you have your gaming computer also connected to the monitor on a different Input. In my case I have my Dell PC Desktop connected to the Ultra Wides. I actually have Mac Mini set up with dual Ultra Wides and also have PC the same way on different input. There are endless way of making use of the Ultra Wides depending on your interests. I am not big into gaming but the grand kids are big gamers. Best wishes and enjoy your new toy....well a working tool and some play time uses. Charlie

I'm coming from a 38" LG Ultrawide to the 49". I also would've liked a more aggressive curve. The benefit of a dual monitor was angling it. With this it's one long slab. I'm getting used to it slowly and will look into some of the tools you mentioned. I'm especially interested in Side Car to use my iPad as you are here.

so is this a real 5k monitor? my LG 5k ultrafine thunderbolt display has a resolution of 5120 x 2880 and requires the full bandwidth of thunderbolt 3 to run, equivalent 5k monitors from dell require 2 display ports to run 5k or 6k monitor. Het Chris, i just got the LG ultrawide 49 inch, but mine is BL and not WL. I called LG engineer and they told me the difference is that the Bl stands for business and has the USB C which can carry 4 k resolution on mac and also has 3 years warranty as compared to WL which has 1 year. So I guess that may explain that some people have issues with their mac resolution. I do have a general question- are you able to use single keyboard and mouse using bluetooth for simultaneous use of Mac and windows. If yes do you need to download any software on the computer or just simple bluetooth. As my office laptop doesnt allow me to download any third party software, so i wont be able to use logitech flow software neither the LG onscreen or split software. In that case should I consider getting the Dell 49 inch monitor which has almost same features as LG but with the addition of KVM switch. Will this make a difference ? Can you or anyone please advise. thx

Did you keep it? Considering selling my iMac 2019 and using this with my 2020
    MBA. So conflicted.

I just got two Samsung 49" CRG9 5120 x 1440 and I am looking for a mini PC able to run them together. As an Apple guy I have no idea on what to get. Any help? I will very eventually do some gaming, but 99% of the time is to trade stocks looking into graphics.
