To be fair, classic Hollywood films always sexualize beautiful people. That's partially why they're there as actors. Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans are beautiful people as well. Not to mention that these films were based on very old pulp magazines that hyper exaggerated the bodies of both men and women.

@@ni9274I disagree. I don’t know for sure, but the difference between sexualizing men and sexualizing woman has changed drastically over the years. Ankles for women were the norm, and I’m positive it wasn’t men making the standard. The point is, Male sexualizing is met with positivity, where as female sexualizing is met with negativity. Will there ever be a female Magic Mike? Ever? Honestly, I couldn’t care less, but I just wanted you to think about it. Have a nice day!
You know, her costume changed as the movie series progressed. The first outfit was definitely one who was trying to "impress" the boys. As bad as the Black Widow costume was, it could have been worse, how you ask? Let me put it this way “If you see George Lucas heading to the costume department for your costume, _Run_ “ - Carrie Fisher
The irony is that the character sends the opposite message. Uses her attractiveness and being sexualized to distract and mislead guys who are hyper fixated on her appearance, letting her outsmart them. So the point isn’t that she’s hot, it’s that guys can be stupid and let their guard down and make poor choices because of that. Turns the objectification into a weapon, pretty dope.
Her outfit may be cake, but even I know better than to eat it
Yeah cope, the average marvel consoomer does not think that far. They just see boobies and butts 🦍
@@Nah-wg6dwThe reasoning is straight from the comics...
@@Nah-wg6dw actors are objectified. Chris Hemsworth was objectified as Thor.
It’s just part of the deal of being an actor.
@@Nah-wg6dw Because it would have made him a deeper character? Characters should have flaws and Hank being an alcoholic wife beater made him more complex and it's not like it didn't bite him in the ass. You are allowed to show people being bad in fiction, even if they're supposed to be heroes. That's why I'm still mad that Disney made Faverau axe Tony's alcoholism from Iron Man 2 which is why we get the palladium poisoning and it just doesn't work nearly as well. Also to return to the original point, Black Widow uses her sexuality and feminity as a weapon, it's her character. A woman reclaiming her sexuality and using it to her own benefit isn't problematic, it's one of the cornerstones of modern feminism.
No one feels bad for a choice she made. She’s upsets about the costume but took the millions that made her career.

hi how long have you being my fan
Objectified:
Every male hero actor:
Shirtless, steroids, 5% bodyfat
I know right. The male superhero physique might be harder to achieve than Black Widow's.
The difference is usually the male hero is a fantasy of what men want to be, vs with a lot of women in superhero media where the fantasy is sleeping with them. I won’t deny that sometimes in these movies the men are objectified too, but it’s not an equal on both sides issue
Um... Just bc this happens to guys as well doesn't mean her feelings are invalid thou. This isn't a woman vs man thing either, this is just someone that's speaking out about it.
@@cantthinkofaname5046 The argument falls flat on its face when you realize that the reason why most men want that kind of physique is because it's what women want. Same thing with being rich and powerful. Most guys want it because it gives them access to women.

@wanwan3864 Well if you are in college you can use that as an example, its your choice to attend college. But the being poor part doesn't quite work. Shes not going to be broke if she denied the role or requested a wardrobe change. She had plenty of money from other movies she's done. The thing is that she has very good points. The black widow spy catsuit thing is very impractical, and it was designed back when Black Widow wasn't the character she is today back then female characters weren't designed with practical costumes they were designed to be sexualized. You can see how her costume evolves into a much more useful and modern outfit over the course of the movies

She's an amazing character that could have been explored well in the MCU, of course (the movie didn't do much to work on the Widow's backstory), but that doesn't mean she's a shallow character.
@@victordgmelo you didn't seem to understand. In the comics she well may be an interesting character. In the movies she is shallow sexy spy chick. It isn't actress fault. But it's stupid of her to act like it's all ours fault that she took on such a role and treat her accordingly.
Poor baby. I feel bad for her. She didn't even have a choice and didn't get paid.
She's playing a comic book hero!!! What about men. Spider man and Captain America. 😩
Bro bro let’s just not focus on the fact that she has a 10 digit pay check
And was still complaining she wasn’t getting paid enough lol rich ppl gmt
11counting the leaks
Bcs hollyweird has an agenda they want to beat into the brain of your children. They want to teach them to be cucks
Same type of person her fans will cry "the 1% is evil, resist" < the whole fucking monetary system is corrupt and all established governments and economies are broken, but still. The point is, ppl are fucking retarded.
Moral of the story if you don’t want to be sexualized, don’t work in the entertainment business and don’t play a sexualized character
Heck I want a spy role just so I can wear the sexy suits, even if they are actually really squeaky when wearing, but hey, sexy spy time
👏👏👏👏👏
👍👍
And don’t be a woman
Why r u coping so hard lmao
I got the distinct impression that Scarlett liked very much the way that she was perceived in those movies. Specifically because of how she hammed it up. Scarlett seemed to like Scarlett a whole lot and it was a big reason why I didn't care for her/her character in the earlier days of the MCU. I didn't start to warm up to her/her character until Endgame.
She has no idea how happy she made millions for being comic book accurate
She wanted to quit but she had like 35 million reasons not to.
Ong tho
I think she made 100 million combining all the marvel movies she appeared in.
The money was too good to quit.
"She said she felt like a piece of meat" while working in Hollywood. 😮😮😮🙀🙀
🙄 then be a school teacher. She knew what the Black Widow character looked like before she took the role.
Well I guess I'll never see her as Red Sonja now. 😢
Tom holland left the chat for most uncomfortable suit
Not to mention, had take out of the shirt during Far From Home & No Way Home
Actually I think it was one of the earlier Ironman movies where Downey Jr said it’s like triggering claustophobia wearing his armor
“I picked a character who wears a sexy suit then to my surprise was asked to wear a sexy suit.”
same thing as I wanted to play iron man but they gave me a metal suit
Bruh they need money to stay fckin better
Won't you fckin become a dog for a million dollars?
Bark like a monkey and talk like a dog for money?
You don't really have a choice, you audition for avengers they give you a role.
@@urnotonmylevel1843 You absolutely have a choice, they say “Hey you are playing this character here’s how much we are paying you sign on the dotted line” they signed. You think they get held at gun point? They don’t complain cause they see how much money they get.
@@chiimotosuwa8423" you can lose the highest paying gig and earn no money" she's definitely going to say yes
It's the whole point of black widow. She weaponize her attractive look to gain a bigger advantage on her opponent.
Her character is supposed to be seductive, she’s not playing a gremlin.
clearly she does not read marvel comics and knows who black widow is and how she works.
That doesn't negate her point, though Black Widow was designed back when female characters were props
@@wintertrooper7918 thats not it at all her looks are her weapon that's why she's perfect for espionage that and her acting skills how she lies are way out of every situation or into someones trust not because shes a prop
@derpman2033 no she was not some amazing spy assassin she was created to show America is superior to the soviets and what better way than to have one of their assassins/spies defect she literally had very little character or story
Yes because woman in comic books are famously never sexualized
@@johnniewaiker6203the men are the same or they are really rich. Like all the male superhero are jacked/ripped eg sexualized.
She's literally called black widow. You know, the spider who seduces mates so it can bite their head off. What kind of suit was she expecting?
meanwhile mantis
@@da3sthebest Mantis was never supposed to be a character who uses sex appeal to her advantage to defeat enemies. She's probably pretty much oblivious to sex. Black widow has that as a primary character trait.
@@BrainInJartalking out your ass huh? Mantis Mentions sex literally the very first movie she's introduced.....
She could have at least looked up a image of who she was gonna play.

Jesus Christ people stop being shitheads. She's allowed to not like it. My god smh
She could have just took the outfit off. Profits would have doubled
I believe women’s short hair cut have powers
Hi
Why yall berating me in this suit?
Director: three other girls want the role.
Nevermind I'm ready to film 😰
That was LITERALLY the point of the suit. To make her look vulnerable and make men “at ease” around her to make them weak and unsuspecting.
See, this is why gatekeeping your hobbies is not only important but necessary
No that's her fighting costume, not undercover
@@raymond8920 but they are only talking about the suit.
So should the role gone to so.e ugly girl?
Hence the name Black Widow
The Black Widow costume pretty much exactly fits the comic book versions in appearance. Probably the least revealing outfit worn by any female character. It looked like a bulletproof combat suit.
That spread eagle thumbnail is crazy
Only reason why I clicked💀
She makes more in a month than everyone in my apartment complex makes in a year.
Combined, and with that of the neighboring complex's too.
@@Sarcastican_ neighboring complex?
What is that?
@@kraevorn7483bro what
It’s actually pretty sad to realize that she’s making more in a year than a entire family + extended family can ever make in any of their lifetimes and she still complaining.
@@eugeneantwi9449so your saying that if your rich you can’t complain about anything
Presumably she can just choose not to be in those films then
Contracts
@@stalledzeus3915 question, do you not read a contract before signing it? Do you not read terms and conditions?
@@megrud$$$$💵💵💵oh wait.. you mean I have to do HALF of what the comic says ... the horror!!!
@@stalledzeus3915 then thats on her for signing off on a contract lmfao. She knew exactly what she was getting into, if she didn’t read the contract then that was extremely stupid of her
@@megrud ay don’t throw flame at me she did it not me
BW is one of my favorites but SJ had to know that being an actor you will have to do and wear things that objectified them. Male and Female alike
I mean it’s always been a part of black widows appeal. Even in the comics. That’s what makes her character badass. She captures you off guard with her beauty and innocence until boom.,You catch a roundhouse to the face.
