  • I had to replace the driver's door latch assembly because the door switch did not work. If you had to replace the window regulator or window motor this video will get you there also. I left the radio on and CZcams said that was Copywrite infringement and they muted parts of the video, sorry.

Thanks this helped me replace mine, Note: you do not have to take the nut out behind the rubber blank, that is for the door handle only

Thanks for posting this. I have an 08 JK and was struggling to get the door panel off. I need to repair the cable operating the door latch. Thanks again.

Thanks so much for this video. I just had to replace my actuator in my 2007 JK. I would never had thought about the little knockouts to release the window from the track since mine were not drilled out. I did reduce the effort a little by not disconnecting the latch assembly from the inner door panel. I took out the appropriate fasteners and everything came out as one unit.
    Thanks again.

Replaced my actuators and they lock and unlock with the buttons but it doesn’t seem like the doors are being released but the actuator. Even if I put the key in and turn it, it’s not unlatching. Kinda at a dead end and not sure what else is the issue.

      Something may be binding up.

@@737mechanic swapped it with new ones because thought it may be the actuator itself but still the same issue. It won’t allow me to open from the outside. Once I open from the inside, I can use it no problem. At a dead end and it’s frustrating. But your video helped me out a ton

@@737mechanic the locks themselves feel real stiff so something is to lined up properly. I just can’t determine what it is

There may be a screw missing in the assembly.

This video loses sound about 30 minutes in… just in time for the reassembly.
Does the window just drop back into its track?
The framing in that part (and the lack of sound) makes it hard to tell how to get that part back together

Sorry for the sound loss, I left the radio playing in the background and youtube said I needed to mute the section with the radio playing or remove the video. I was talking over the radio so it isn't like anyone would have been able to use the music part of this video, it's crazy. But back to your question, yes the window will drop back in the track but you may need to turn the power on and move the window up or down slightly to help you.
