Microsoft word never fails to amaze me on their ability to overcomplicate the usage of a very simple feature.

The voice makes me think I queued up an "Audit the Audit" video on accident.
Great
Argh, I have word for mac and cannot find the content control properties menu anywhere. I was able to get as far as enabling the checkbox though so thank you for that! I will just have to settle for a X instead of a check mark.
Same here. Sucks.
is there a way to highlight the text once the you check a box?
Please upload more videos.
I will try. ❤️
The "Check Box Content Control" icon under the controls category is not active on my laptop, why?
How can i make TICK my default for all my word doc?
Now, if i hv 10 boxes, i have to do 1 by 1? I cant seem to apply 1 shot to all 10 boxes. Thks
I tried this but noticed that mine was shaded gray. Apparently I have to put it in protection mode for it to work? Is there any other way?
Does this work for microsoft Word 2007?
and if "file" isn't in the ribbon?
Hi Office Master, thanks for the help. The beginning of your vid shows a red check mark in a black box. The tutorial doesn't explain that option.
Hello, thank you for comment. can you tell me at what second the red check mark is visible? I can't find it.
The properties on my version of Word which I thought was the latest, is not the same! I don't have this option.
Is this demo not applicable to Microsoft Word for Mac? I have the Developer tab, but I do not have a 'Controls' group and I am not able to easily click the check box to mark it. When the check box is clicked, it opens up a separate 'Check Box Form Field Options' pop up and I have to click 'not checked' or 'checked'. This is quite inefficient when there are a lot of check boxes in my document.
Does the checkboxes remain clickable after i print the file in pdf?
For me, the check box in the developer tab is greyed-out so I cannot use it. Any idea what could cause this? I tried using the legacy options (toolbox/key icon), but those are not interactive.
that didn't work for me. Word inserted a (checked) box to the left of my line rather than where i positioned the cursor.
my mac doesn't have the check boxes become checked automatically, another window opens where you have to select to check the box. This is so cumbersome.
sound like the guy from audit the audit
pretty sure it is xD
Hey is this the same voice from the Audit Archive?
Figured it out. I was in compatability mode.
Perfect!
Any idea what I am doing wrong when the checkbox button to insert one is greyed out?:)
I am having the same issue. It seems to be disabled for some reason. Have you found any solution?
@@Oekiero Same here... it's grayed out and not clickable...
@@radiotelemetry The reason is probably the version of microsoft word doc.
After I opened a new word doc., everything woked perfectly fine.
I couldn't add editable check boxes in any of my older documents.
This doesn't apply to Mac, even though that's what I entered in my search. Apparently with the lates Mac and Microsoft updates you can no longer create a clickable checkbox. The previous version did allow that.
I tried it. I can see the developer tab, but the checkbox mark is grey, so I can't use it. Can someone help me please.
what version did you use?
When the box is added, it doesnt automatically have X and even after switching that to a checkmark, it does not work.
I just wanted to add a freakin check box on a column. I wishhhhhhh! Word complications.
Wait....is this the Audit the Audit guy??
This is the same narrator from Audit The Audit
The checkbox and some other tools are grayed out on my Developer tab. I'm using Word in MS Office 365 for enterprise in Windows. I can choose the dropdown from the last symbol in the list and get two options for a checkbox but neither of them look or work as you're describing., i.e. they are not interactive. The first is on the Legacy list and the second is on the Active-X list. So far, all the instructions on how to do this, including Word's Help, are the same as yours, which don't help me. Let me know if you have the answer.
I found my answer elsewhere. The answer is that Word somehow got into Compatibility Mode. This option control isn't available in that mode.
Great work. The compatibility mode can makes problems with functions sometimes.
I don't have FILE in my word, I only have Home
May be due to your Window version, check it
thanks but the succeeding box are not interactive
I need the check box at the end of the sentence not at the beginning.
Great instruction but I only see a dislike not a like.
Thanks but I skipped the video by just searching for it in the search bar
Why do you sound like audit the audit?
Are you the police audit guy? 🤔
Helpful🤌
Glad it helped
It is totally silly design for word. Why on earth they use cross as default? Job security for word expert??
