Thank you so much for posting this amazing performance by Randy Meisner.. I love his beautiful voice and he was my favourite member of The Eagles (and the cutest)..He seemed to be a very humble, gentle, unassuming man and he was incredibly talented. If there were any more performances from Randy on The Midnight Special, I'd really love to see them. RIP Randy. You are greatly missed! ♥♥
Thanks for publishing this video of Randy Meisner! Would love for you to post other songs he sang on The Midnight Special! :) I'll bet his parents were so excited to see him on TV!
Thank you for this clear video! Randy was devastatingly gorgeous with a bright voice that was a gift to millions of us, his memory will be cherished forever.
Am totally in love with Randy Meisner, he’s gorgeous and his voice is sublime, love this song, it makes me “on fire with desire” too! I’m the “tall one” he’s singing about … “waiting at the bar” … 😘 😂
I saw the Eagles live at the Gorge at George maybe in the early-to-mid 2000s. Great show and great venue. From what I remember getting out of the parking lot took forever though. If I even considered going now I’d take my camper van.
Randy Meisner was a fine musician, but I can’t say he was suited for the touring life. Other than his tenure with Eagles, he never stayed in any band for very long. He was on one album in the 1970s version of Poco and one album in the late 1980s with them. Richie Furay had issues with him. The Eagles wanted him to stand in the middle of the stage and sing “Take It to the Limit”. He was reluctant to sing it on his final tour with the band. I think the huge success of The Eagles was beneficial to him financially. He was overwhelmed mentally.
The best music era bar none. Everything was original. Not a lot of ‘covers…’. Today you have far too much mimicry, ‘covers,’ and absence of originality. I’m not saying there’s no originality today. I AM saying there’s a couple generations of people who may or may not sing well, practicing 70’s to 90’s or so music…. Putting a little spin on it and essentially presenting it to their peers as original. The peers don’t know the difference. People. It’s fine to cover within the realms of what’s legal. But if you are truly talented, how about producing something of your OWN. A few examples of what I consider to be current day original artists: Snarky Puppy Jacob Collier Cory Henry Ground Up Music Cee Lo Green Lalah Hathaway Becca Steven’s Laura Mvala Malika Torolien Banda Magda Bokante’ There are many originals out there. Unfortunately, you may have to dig thru a cesspool of mediocrity to find it.
I remember it on album-rock radio in late 1980/early 1981. Randy even recorded one of those Budweiser radio commercials, where rock artists of the day would sing the "This Bud's for you" jingle but adapted to their current hit song. It's probably on CZcams, look for Randy's Budweiser commercial sung to the tune of Hearts on Fire. It's a good one.

❤ the best singer of the eagles, RIP Randy🙏🇮🇪💕
Depends on the song I think. I know the female backup singer has my heart on 🔥
Without a doubt. Unquestionably Meisner hits those high notes and my ❤.
Such tragic latter years for such a dear soul. Thanks for all you gave us, Randy! We'll never forget you ❤
RIP Randy ❤
Favorite Eagle. Play Take in to the limit every morning.
I didn't know Randy made his own music He's had a great voice
Love your voice Randy, you're a legend!
His performance of this song on Fridays is also v v good.
This is how you use an electric guitar to make a great song!
Gibson powered
I had no idea Napoleon Dynamite could play guitar like that. Bravo!
Love you Randy❤Rest in Peace 🌹
Looks like a fun band. Song reminds me of "Smoke from a Distant Fire".
Nice comparison brother! Cheers from Tennessee
The Sanford-Townsend Band. That is a nice comparison. I would never have made that observation. It's like "Hearts on Fire" with 🎷 in it.
It was thinking.... so familiar.... yes!
RIP Randy 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
The best singer for Take It To The Limit bar none.
Makes sense as he partially composed it
I agree. His vocals on that song are amazing.
Out of this world song, and his voice was out of the stratosphere great (!)
Absolutely. Full Stop,
RIP Randy. Thanks for posting.

Love Randy, with or without the Eagles. It does sound like the transition to an 80's type sound. Thanks for this.
Love the white “Fillmore East” T-Shirt, worn by the guitarist, fabulous place. Wish I’d had the chance to visit
kick ass!
Randy had such a good voice, he's greatly missed.

Forgot about this song. Loved him. Take it to the limit, Randy. Rest in love. ❤️

Great song. The twin lead solos are a wonderful touch. RIP Randy, you are much missed
Good hit late Summer 1980 👍
Damn, I had the same shirt he was wearing, only in navy blue.
I don’t recall this one, but it was a good one. I liked that drummer's enthusiasm!😃
I believe he later drummed for Kim Carnes as well.🎵🥁👍
Reminds me of the drummer on the muppets. Lol
The drummer was really rocking it.
Love it!
Thin Lizzyesque double guitar attack rocks ❤
Good song... I haven't heard this song in a long time. ❤️🔥

Run out of the band by Frey and Henley, the assholes. He was the best of them.
They both suck. By all accounts Randy was the nicest guy you’d ever meet. RIP Randy Meisner
Who's the female backup singer? Meowouch!
Amazing musician. Rest in Peace Randy.
