As a playwright, I can't get ENOUGH of 127 shrewd silly satires! The boys excel at these semi scripted improv skits that parody their personas. The witty SM staff dreams them up & the boys take them on with earnest exuberance and an excellent grasp of self mocking comedy.
The late night punch punch show still reigns supreme for me as does their Top Model parody. This one is a nostalgic send up on young adult sitcoms with their thin plots, lame scripts, awkward teen celeb acting & canned laughter.
Btw, we mustn't fault the ACTING in celeb parodies cause Bad Acting is part of the fun. None of the boys are ACTING here they are idols PRETENDING to act just as they were Idols pretending to model...badly (when we KNOW how well they all do that!)
In terms of their true ACTING ability, over the years I have sat through countless bad auditions & all night casting sessions so I'll just say this...about that.
Fans should NOT be in a hurry to rush their idols into acting roles before they feel truly ready to make that career transition.
That is because while idols have perfected INSTRUMENTS (faces bodies & voces) performers are in some ways the opposite of actors.
Acting & Performing require different skillsets & motivations as does acting on the stage vs for the camera
I predict that by the time he is 40, Lee Taeyong will OWN broadway (if he.wants to) he has mad stage skills. Yet ACTING in his sweet little SuperM love scene sent taeyong into a novice panic! Doyoung just aced an opera level stage debut. He & some of the boys have appeared in idol driven kdrama vehicles to the delight of their fandoms.
Many idols will persue post idol acting careers and do very well. But from what I've seen so far I cant really say that the boys are fully trained actors...yet.
The first time I heard the song I literally teared up. I keep on coming back to this content just to listen to that song, I'm so excited for it's full release! ♡
