One of the last remarks will stay with me for a bit: one mistake and so many of the records wouldn't have happened. Great material or not, he did not make any mistakes. I will never be not impressed by this guy.

      Spot on!
One might forget, how close to the surface it it , to have mishaps!
Engine faillure, hit by other cars in racing incidents etc.
What strikes Me (and a lot of others!)
He seems to have calmed down/ in control !
Due to his confidence in the car/the team.
He is like in His Karting days in a insane flow!
Hope 2024 will be closer in respectfull battles.
I would not mind a RB20 Car better than RB19!
Same Max will do it for Me!
      Nevertheless I will enjoy F1

    Also impressive:
Verstappen is 9 years active in F1 with 54 grand prix victories.
Hamilton after his first 9 years F1: 43 wins
Vettel: 42 wins; Senna 36 wins; Schumacher and Prost 35 wins
Or more impressive, at the age of 26:
Verstappen (2 months 26): 54 grand prix wins
    Vettel: 39(?) wins; Alonso 20(?) wins; Schumacher 19 wins; Hamilton: 17 wins;

    Max's three-year average win percentage, 66.6% from 2021 to 2023, surpasses Hamilton's highest single-year achievement of 64.7% in 2020.
Max's two-year average win percentage is 77.3% from 2022 to 2023, surpassing Ascari's previous F1 highest single-season win percentage record of 75% set in 1952.
Max's one-year win percentage of 86.4% in 2023 marks the highest in F1 history.
    ------------------------
The two-year average win percentage is probably the craziest Verstappen stat out there. None could better Ascari in history, but Verstappen does it over 2 combined seasons.

Without the right skills he couldn't pilot the Red Bull cars that have become sharper and sharper (front end) from 2016 onwards. You can ask the likes of Daniël Ricciardo, Pierre Gasly, Alex Albon and current 2nd seat Sergio Perez.
Without the skills to control that car properly and manage the tyre wear on top of that as he does, he couldn't perform consistantly every weekend the way he has done. You can see it in Checo his season, it was a literal roller coaster for him. Same for Alex Albon and Pierre Gasly in the past. Some people like a sharp car but a very fast car is razor sharp especially when on the limit.
Even Liam Lawson was in awe of Max Verstappen after he saw Max his car control after he, Liam, spun his car in the last banked corner at Zandvoort. He was drifting that car from apex to the exit curb according to Liam, and Liam admitted in a recent interview that he couldn't do that.
Having a fast machine is one thing but extracting all the potential out of it is another.
