    It's so refreshing to see instructional content aimed towards high intermediate to advanced riders. There are already tons of tutorials for beginners (at riding and at freestyle), so this is a niche that sorely needed to be filled.
    Also, a common theme I've noticed in a lot of your video analyses is that most problems are caused by a suboptimal stacked body position and switching edges too early. For years I thought that I sometimes just screwed up spins at random, but after filming myself, I realized that the "bad" attempts were caused by those two problems. This is what has kept me from taking spins to medium and larger jumps because I couldn't trust myself not to screw things up on a larger, more consequential feature. But now I have an understanding of what I need to work on and a clearer path towards my freestyle goals, instead of just hoping that I'll eventually stop sucking if I get enough reps.

    I just started consistently getting my back 3s this year but these videos made me realize how little I’m opening up and that I’m looking over my shoulder and not under.
    It would be cool to see a video on backflips. Since I’ve been trying to land those this year

    At least his CORK would look AWESOME on a bigger jump :P
    Actually crazy how much of a difference there were in your spins. Flat 3s and onwards is IMO, SUPER sexy on bigger jumps! But unfortunately, nowadays in competitions it's all about them triple and even quad corks :(
    I wish I had a cameraman back in my younger days when I was learning 3s and tried to learn 5s! I'm sure we all know when you're just out there, at least when you're not that good, it just feels like you're doing things correctly but I'm sure with a video analysis it would be way easier to spot the errors done. As always, interesting and good video!

    I did not realize this was buckhouse!
    I can’t do 720’s let alone 360’s but I feel like the information given in this breakdown can help with any spin trick? Agree or disagree?
    I’m working on 180’s right now and I am definitely dipping the shoulder on back 1’s which is causing me to not land in a stacked position. I also feel like I’m on my edge too much during take off as opposed to waiting till the transition to switch edges.
    I’m really hoping to master these tricks by the end of this season but I’ve only got two weeks left.
    I’m loving these breakdowns taevis! I was weary about not seeing as much nev with the coaching but your explanations and experience are really top notch!

    • @Taevis-Kapalka
      @Taevis-Kapalka Před 2 měsíci

      These tips should help with all spins!!! Every spin comes from the first place, some mistakes just aren’t as noticeable until you get to bigger tricks.
      Keep working on it and you will get there, if not this year then next!

    Super nice video I don’t do back 7 but very nice to know the early edge change can affect the spin because I have the same problem with back 5 and at 6:25 you said that your back leg is extend but how do get the pop and can I use this technique with front 3?

    • @born2drum1
      @born2drum1 Před 2 měsíci +1

      They have a TON of front and back 3 videos ran by both nev and Taevis, you could probably just scroll through their newest videos and find one not too far down the list.

    This is an awesome guide!
    I do have 1 small suggestion which helped me a lot. Try to tail grab rather than stalefish / indy as I found that it allowed my body to naturally lean toward the direction of rotation. Also, this gives you a really good way of spotting as you simply need to look in the middle of the gap between your board and shoulder.
    Not to mention that tail grab bs7 look beautiful! 🤌
