I like to imagine that the Traveler keeps a few dull blades around because when he or she starts ramping their powers up as high as they can manage they don't want to hurt their good sword.

the traveler has grown so used to archons not knowing about their sibling's whereabout that they just stop asking 💀
Well they did manage to find his sibling during the deinsleif quest, as the abyss princess, so its no use finding her. Their main goal as of now is stop the fatui from getting all the gnoses and himself getting all 7 elements along the way. So yeah at this point he isnt focused on his sister's wareabouts, but rather get his full strength back, to confront her, and stop whatever the tzaritsa is doing

Because in the beginning of Sumeru's story Paimon says "let's ask the archon about some useful information" so yeah, they're not trying to FIND her, but to know what really happened to her (Lumine). The traveller and paimon never said anything about getting all the elements

@@aldrich_leon8547 Actually, their goal is not to stop the Fatui, but to journey through Teyvat, just as their sibling did all those years ago. Stopping the Fatui is a separate mission.
I cried throughout the boss fight when Nahida said "The First Sage of Buer." We finally got to fight with a god that adores her predecessor, loved her nation and was underestimated by her people. They locked her in a cage, and created a new god to replace her. Now, she can finally prove to everyone that she is an archon worthy of Sumeru. Us, her First Sage will fight alongside her to save the world.

Ain't gonna lie the improvement from Inazuma's plot line to Sumeru's plotline was amazing they legit made this feel like a movie with all the cutscenes
well tbh inazumas story went that way bc of the story department issue where everyone quit bc of the political issues in the office. but in the enkanomiya lore you can already see that its either it was written way before that issue happened OR the writing team has been re organized already.

I agree. The previous weren't bad but were like designed for middle schoolers with mild taste who are easily impressed. I don't want to make this sound too grande, the point is the recent ones actually improved significantly.

It gave me chills too, but I wouldn’t go that far. The way Raiden cooked signora still gives me chills to this day and literally just the presence you feel the first time you meet her.

What I liked the most in this Archon Quest was that EVERYONE worked together to save their Archon, stop the Sages and the Fatui.
From master mind Alhaitham with his outsmarting the outsmarting from those Sages to Cyno deceiving the guards, capture Azar and release Nahida, to Dehya fight the city guards with the eremites, to Nilou distract everyone outside and Tighnari ofc protecting Haypasia to Nahida and Traveler defeating Scaramouche. Also ofc Isak for deceive the guards.
I absolutely LOVED that Nilou's job was "we need to distract the guards!"
(not really, it was to activate the false akasha directive) but STILL I'm hyped that they actually used her story talent for something.
@@MichaelAury I thought it was kind of cringy at first, because she just starts dancing, but it was necessary because of Azar's loathing of art. It was really cool because it had to be dancing for him to upload the right "wrong" command. It was really satisfying that Nilou was a part of the plan and Nilou getting some payback from Azar. Perfect story telling by Hoyoverse.

Sometimes, best thing about victory is that people worked together, not just stand-out characters but also "trivial" ones, like in this case, the people of Sumeru, not only characters joined our plan like Nilou, Alhaitham, Cyno, Tighnari and so.

After completing the Archon Quest "Where the Boat of Consciousness Lies", dialogue, descriptions, and character stories referring to Rukkhadevata will change to no longer refer to her.
The one remaining trace of Rukkhadevata's name is in the description of Rukkhashava Mushrooms; its Archive description is changed to specify that people believe that the name "Rukkhadevata" refers to a giant tree that once existed in Sumeru.
Holy.. I knew they were going to do this, but I didn't know where it existed previously to check. That's some insane "missable" details

Not only is Nahida extremely kind, but she also was able to deal with both Scaramouche and The Doctor, AND she actually gave us very important information about our sibling. She's my favourite archon so far.
Edit: Plus she's the most adorable character in the game along with Klee.
Also she is super cute, that is her real power as an archon.

This is what I got as well. She was essentially saying - "I am not Lesser Lord Kusanali, I am the Dendro archon. Now, my first disciple, please take out the trash"

The Greater Lord/Lesser Lord titles were there to mark as if Sumeru has 2 archons and she's the "lesser" one. In reality, Sumeru only has 1 archon, her, and they needed to bend the knee

SPOILERS:
Even after everyone forgot about greater lord Rukkhadevata and everyone started refering to Kusanali and Rukkahadevata as the same god. It would've be so much better if they started calling her greater lord Kusanali at the end as a sign that she had truly taken up the mantle as the dendro archon.

And for the proof, this one sentence is coming from her story quest which is happen after this fight in archon quest:

The moment you realised all the triival details and throwaway lines in the previous acts were all preparing you for this one moment,
Like how the seemingly useless moment of you buying combat knowledge capsule from Dori...it increased your ATK by 1, and at the time it looked like just a point about Dori selling you useless junks, while in fact it was telling you that it's possible to transfer knowledge and knowledge can enhance your combat performance, so it doesn't feel like deus ex machina here; Or, in act 2 when Paiman said compiling knowledge of everyone is like using the city as one big brain, Nahida said she liked that analogy, back then you thought it was referring to the Akademiya abusing people's brain as mere computing devices, but now you know she liked it because that's the true purpose of the Akasha, now just by looking at everything closing their eyes thinking, you understood what's happening here without needing much explanation.
They introduced key concepts in the story slowly and it paid off so much!

I was caught off guard and having chills when Nahida called traveler as her first sage to protect sumeru from the false god. The whole journey with Nahida was wholesome and the title of "first sage" to the traveler is rewarding and heartwarming as well. This resembles Rukhadevata's first sage who helped protect Sumeru against calamities back then.

This was a masterpiece. This quest was 🔥. There was no wasted plots, no unnecessary errands , no wasted potential. They had non linear story progression and so many moving plot points and all came together in a very beautiful story. Nahida dealing with 2 Harbingers. And also giving us sooo many Lore bombs. Nahida Best Archon indeed!❤️
How you rate the first two parts?

Act 1 gave us an intro to Sumeru and taught us about Withering and all.
Act 2 was the Samsara cycle and Nahida.
Act 3 and 4 was Scarlett king and the Mad scholars and all.
Act 5 was the finale. And it was really well done.
My favourite would be Act 1 , 2 , 5.

I especially loved act 2 and 5. 1 was just the buildup and 3 and 4 felt like a group meeting session (although I understand it's crucial to the plot). Loved all acts anyway cos hyv is already hitting a good pacing in terms of storytelling. I hope fontaine will be even more compelling
I get literal goosebumps when nahida says "do you even know how many times you tried to take my gnosis from me? ", This Archon Quest beyond my expectations, Nilou's performance, Alhaitham's Plan and the Nahida and Dottore negotation at the end
Bravo to the voice actors, they did an absolutely phenomenal job at bringing these characters to life. My heart was pouring when watching this in game.

Maybe not their intention, but I rewatched this so I could hear the English version (I played the game in JP). Genshin VA's are indeed phenomenal in all languages.

@@rikyako88 finally! It's hard fpr me to focus on the emotions in games while reading subtitles. I still somewhat read them in Russian, and cringe at the translation quality very often, because English is often more fitting to the context of the situation, and I understand everything much more.

What does becoming a sage mean.
The best part about this scene is that the whole arc made the title feel deserving. The traveller went through so much with Nahida and genuinely wanted to save her and people of Sumeru I felt proud watching this unfold I can only hope the rest of the story can live up to this development

This was an amazing Archon Quest! Definitely the best one yet, the story, the characters, and the first two parts of this was the set up to this amazing conclusion. Amazing.

On top of what everyone else has been saying, one of the things that made me emotional about this scene is that this is prolly the first time in 500 years that the Akasha’s been used the way Rukkahdevata intended for it to be used

I cried so much that i pulled for nahida even though I was saving for c2 shogun.
I really want to praise the voice actor Scaramouche, he did a great job. (spoiler??) I've watched his screaming scene countless times and every time my heart trembled! This scene is now one of my favorites, thanks VA!
Patrick Pedraza has been nailing the role for two years now. He’s fantastic and I hope he gets even more roles. In dub at least there are a few voice actors that are newer which is amazing.
From this archon quest, Buer has become the most powerful archon for me. Why? Because she thought through every single action and planned strategically, which trully proves that she really IS the God of Wisdom. And it is even more surprising because from the previous events, Mihoyo made us perceive Nahida as a very passive vulnerable archon. But it was Nahida all along who had planned every single thing to the moment of this victory. I will forever cherish the title " First sage of Buer". Long live the Dendro Archon, the wisest of the wisest❤
Archons get their power through their followers worship. Venti gave his peoplesfreedom so not much people worship him. Zhongli made it look like he died so his followers may have been decreased. Inazuma had two gods and people at watatsumi still worship Orobashi as their god. Meanwhile, Rukkhadevata's followers became Nahida's follower when she remove her in eveyone's memory. And also, desert dwellers who found the truth about King Deshret became her followers as well. So it's safe to say that Nahida is the strongest now.
@@BlackCascade yeah exactly. Power of Archon derives from their people. After the memory adjustments…everyone started support their archon. She must be one of the stronger archons now … I would place her 2nd after Raiden. Probably then Zhongli and Venti. Al thought even for those nations their people still celebrated and tell stories about their gods
i have a theory the worship = power thing is only true with the gnosis. that is the extra edge it gives to archons and why its useful for the tsaritsa to collect all of them. that, and the connection to celestia which she really wants to bring down.
@@ballistic_1607 It really does not matter how strong she is or how much power she gets from the gnosis/worship. She is the avatar of irminsul. She can just ctrl c delete you if she wants to. Or mess with peoples memory and make everyone gank up on you.
Don't forget that we were the ones to instilled the confidence in her to act like the Archon she really was all along.
She needed someone in her corner actively helping her as a friend and as the First Sage we did that admirably, we earned our own title.

Scaramouche skipping the entire first part of his battle and breaking open the forge only to skip the dramatic transformation into his second form to speed over and do what is probably one of his most powerful attacks near instantly was amazing at just showing Scaramouche’s pure anger and hatred in that moment was amazing. He used nothing but his native element in that moment and it was just a visual spectacle to watch as well

This has got to be the coolest scene in the entire quest. The emotions, the animation, the genius of Nahida and the stance for the final battle. It all meshes together perfectly
No wonder Dainsleif can't say a bad thing about the Dendro archon. When Scaramouche started talking smack about her asking her citizens for help, I was so angry, but she didn't care one bit, the fate of her nation was in danger and she is aware of her flaws. this has been one of the most amazing archon quests. the buildup, the action, the teamwork, the music and animation?? if hoyoverse’s goal was to make a greater impact in the story before this year ends, they certainly have achieved it
I like how scaramouche quickly backs off after nahida retaliates, it just shows how wary he is for such things

I still remember when back in mondstadt they had to be saved by Razor from giant slime at the start of his story quest where we unlock Andrius boss fight.
Now that same traveler solo one God(Raiden Ei/Shogun) to another(Scaramouche) and it just a matter of time until they solo a God without breaking a sweat.

“First Sage of Buer” got CHILLS man. Sumeru Archon Quest is really amazing. The characters felt so alive. Glad they improved so much with the writing and didn’t rush anything in the story. Easily 100/10 for me. Also, congrats to Alhaitham for winning the 2022 best actor award!

What really gets me is how he keeps insisting he wants to fight her as a god. When, in reality, she was fighting him as a god, the god of Sumeru, from the very moment she walked in. Just because she isn't throwing mountains or cleaving valleys, doesn't mean she isn't fighting AS a god. Who else but a god could pull the culmination of the entire knowledge of her people to imbue power into her champion? I got shivers up and down hearing us called her first sage. I will always fight for Nahida!
props to the writing team for all of sumeru's archon quests. it's improved so much from inazuma, and this scene's plot twist with the dreams gave me chills
This was the First time Traveller given a tittle that bring some literal Archon's name in it.
We had 'Honorary knight, hero of Liyue, and Captain of Swordfish II' before. None of them had any Archon's (of the Relevant region) name. But in Sumeru, Nahida herself gave us a tittle before her name. Showing her bless upon our power.
I never beating a weekly boss with that level of emotions before, ngl. 😂

One of my favorite Genshin Impct scene. It has everything an anime has, great actuon, great dialogue, great visuals, great characters, great dramatic scenes. Just great and super affective. 10/10

I've said this numerous times: but the power of friendship shouldn't be some random power-up that just makes the protagonist "stronger." Instead, it should be grounded on realism; that with our friends, we can actually do more than what we can do at the moment.
It shouldn't be "Oooh with the willpower of my friends, I can beat you." It should be "With the things that my friends have given me, I now have the tools necessary to have a greater chance at beating you."
That's why the Sumeru climax feels incredibly satisfying.

Legit got chills down my spine! From the battle with Scaramouche to the aftermath with Il Dottore, Hoyoverse outdid themselves with the archon quest!
This archon quest far surpassed everything HoyoVerse has done so far with Genshin.
Every character played an important role, every loose end tied nicely and we even had an extensive epilogue.
10/10 perfect quest and story telling.

It is worthy of a full update even if it just an archon quest and a story quest. The archon quest feels like the final movie in a movie trilogy, and a good one at that
