Po vs. Tai Lung with healthbars

- čas přidán 9. 06. 2021
- Po arrives with the Dragon Scroll and challenges Tai Lung to combat. Po proves to be a formidable opponent, frustrating Tai Lung with his confusing fighting techniques. Tai Lung eventually wins, but also despairs over the blank scroll, and takes his anger out on Po. Discovering that his body fat renders him immune to Tai Lung's nerve strikes, Po trounces his adversary with his new kung fu style, and eventually kills him using the Wuxi Finger Hold technique.

Man, I can only imagine how bad Tai Lung felt. Imagine going to jail for 20 years and ruining your life over quite literally nothing.
Shifu lied him and ruined his life.
@@mine7172 Shifu had no idea the scroll had nothing written in it, and it’s Tai Lung’s fault for how he reacted in the first place
Tai Lung did not Obey his master, which is his own fault; but in turn, his master did not provide him the guidance he needed in his most emotionally broken moment.
Shifu _attempted_ to apologize for this later, but by then Tai Lung had been embittered for half of his life and was no longer willing to forgive.
Mistakes were made on both sides; but Ultimately, Tai Lung had a choice and he chose poorly (both back at the palace when Oogway spurned him, and at the prison when he had the freedom to go anywhere and do anything with his life.)
@@Phi_Lix Shifu had promised him the scrolls though…never promise something that you can’t give
@@maxtortarum4657 ok? Tai Lung still destroyed people’s homes and (presumably) killed people because they said no to him. When is it ever ok to kill people because someone denied you something? Quit making excuses for his actions
So nobody is going to talk about Tia Lung had no physical practice of kung fu for 20yrs but was still top notch
strength and coordination might be a little off for couple days, but I'm guessing most of it would be muscle memory kicking in?
No because this is a cartoon. Being chained would have obviously led to muscle atrophy but let's just assume he took the time to regain his strength and then attacked shifu and company...
what about po? he literally just learnt kung fu
I’m going to assume his “practice” before attacking the five was just assaulting the guards at torgon. He was out of practice. He did just wake up
@@sigori4672 mmmm, 20 years out of practice, training or any type of movement (and did he even get food lol) or the guy who just learned martial arts, but also was destined to be one of the greatest. Yea, I would say the former has it harder
Anyone notice how when he eats the noodles the health goes up, thought that was pretty cool.
Oh yeah! I didn't notice that!
Like in smash or something
Just like in Minecraft eat an enchanted golden apple
Vidja game logic always a great one
Well that’s because the food was his motivation it was in his training
I'm just now realizing how funny the premise of this fight is. Martial arts master with actual cat reflexes and enough strength and power to bring down a whole army vs fat bear
You do realize that bears are insanely dangerous right?
Even pandas who don't trend to be agressive could rip your head off
I love how when po steps on Tai Lung, it does the same amount of damage as Tai Lung falling like 200ft from the sky or something
Po just weighs that much
It's quite easy to see how Po outmatched Tai Lung in the end. Tai Lung was trained conventionally as the Furious Five had been and was taught everything that the Jade Palace had to offer, which is why he defeated the Five so swiftly. Po, on the other hand, used experiences outside of kung fu to his advantage as well as Shifu's motivations during his training, and Tai Lung was utterly blindsighted by these unusual methods.
Not to mention his physique which often led him to counter Tai Lung’s attacks with extreme efficiency. Each time Tai Lung strikes Po with an attack too fast to dodge or too hard to block, it just bounces back at his face, just like how he charged at Po full speed only to be bounced high up
To make it simple, he used Jackie Chan techniques
@Azuri e Nah that's batman, this one was actually great as stated from above.
@@azurie580 If anyone had Plot Armor it was Tai Lung. He was imprisoned for 20 years without the ability to move his body or train and is somehow still able to defeat an army of soldiers, the 5 greatest warriors in China, and the guy that taught them all lol.
But do u think Po would actually win in a fight against Tai Lung
Lmao notice how Tailung taunted Po saying “What are you gonna do? Sit on me?” And Po actually sat on him multiple times
I liked how there is references before the fight. In 3:41 the reason why the nerve attack doesn’t work was already said in the movie. In where mantis is doing acupuncture to Po, he struggled to find his nerves due to his fat. In 1:45, this reference is very obvious. This is a reference back to Po’s training. There is many other references in this fight.
Yeah it’s nice
A joke scene forshadowed a strenght
I only just noticed that at the end, Po looks incredulous at Tai Lung's trash talk, right up until the word fat; at that moment he instantly turns stony-faced and serious, ready for the hold.
Tai Lung was right.
Their battle was legendary!
This guy really beat one of the strongest anime villains and barely learned anything lol what a legend
And most of the damage Tai Lung takes in this battle is sheer dumb luck.
Some of it was because he is destined to defeat him as the dragon warrior, but some of it was genuinely skill, effort, and learning he put in
The thing with the tree was him applying his past experiences to his battle (he remembered what happened before and used it against Lung) the stair thing was luck (Tai lung just HAPPENED) to land on the bottom every time) and the part at the end where he out-punches Kai and uses the wuxi finger hold on him was skill (he learned a lot from Shifu, and he also did learning on his own time)
Po is not just “luck;” he really does have a passion for kung fu and put in a lot of time and study to become good at it once Shifu helped him learn the basics and get in shape
@@hobomike6935 I’ll add on one of my favorite tidbits. Po is defensive, tactical, and unconventional, while Tai Lung is skilled and immensely strong. However, Tai Lungs skills can’t keep up with Po just being Po, using everything he can find to his advantage- using the pots like Shifu did the bowls and using the fireworks and tree like he did while trying to get into the dragon warrior announcement ceremony. Tai Lungs special techniques made to counter or disable other fighters were made specifically for warriors like Tigress and Monkey, but Po’s unique size stopped that from working. And finally, Po is a master at countering. We see Po quickly take advantage of Tai Lung’s exposed foot, take advantage of his hanging tail, and take more and more advantage of his increasingly blind rage. It truly was fated that Po would defeat Tai Lung, because he was the only one who could counter Tai Lung’s deadly abilities
@@flameblade3 exactly and it’s not plot armor. That’s what people failed to understand, it’s pretty clear what’s sets po apart from the five when it comes to fighting tai lung.
@flameblade 3 ye I think po was the first opponent that tai lung fought that was the same strength as him and tai lung wasn't trained to fight a style that po had created with is panda style. Not only does he fight with his feet and fist but also uses his fat which is something tai lung struggled with in their fight
You noticed how Tai Lung smiles a bit when Po says that Shifu didn't teach him the Wuxi Finger hold, this implies that he was genuinely scared that Po knew the hold but found relief when he thought that Po didn't learn and know how to perform the technique
Can you imagine betraying your master, your friends, going on a murdering rampage, spending 20 years in prison for a scroll that was basically a “gotcha bitch” joke?
Finally a video of Kung Fu Panda video with comments on
Lmao CZcams with the kids policy is frustrating lmao.
It was
"Our comments will be legendary!"
I always thought it was so powerful that they showed Tai-Lung looking at his reflection when he says 'It's nothing!', showing how he really feels about himself.
Most, if not all, people would've taken the line as Tai-Lung realizing that the scroll is empty of writing or mystical power, only containing a thin layer of reflective metal. However, your perception of that line is interesting since that could fit in with the cat's personality so well. He spent his entire life trying to be the Dragon Warrior only to go on a rampage and end up rotting for 20 years in prison following a fight with his adoptive father. Without aiming to be the Dragon Warrior, what was he? He had nothing after that. Prison didn't help either. In fact, it only compounded his self-loathing and made him so much more desperate for the Scroll.
Of course he wouldn't believe that he was good enough after those 20 years. Of course he would see only nothing in himself if what he thought would make him whole was something external.
@@adarshkamoda9183 Exactly.
This is the sort of conversation I love to have; if only there were more people like you in the CZcams comment section.
And then is beautifully followed up by Po saying “it’s just you” and showing his reflection in the scroll, for the first time in the movie, happy and content with who he is
The cartoon noises are hilarious 😂
I know
The sound effects and Tai Lung meowing sound is just absolutely 💀☕
One thing I've always loved about fights in this series is that characters don't fight the same way a human would because they actually utilize and incorporate their animal traits into their fighting styles. Po's fat, Monkey's agility, Crane's ability to fly, Mantis' much smaller size, Viper's mobility and flexibility, etc.
love how the noodles gave Po some health back lol
Lmao giving him hp for the noodles tho😂😂
Not only does he put health bars, but adds video game logic too.
@@yaboihuey5298 haha yes
I love how Po beats Tai Lung (a kung-fu master with advanced techniques) while all he had was just the basics of kung-fu but just used them several unorthodox ways.
Neat detail refilling HP eating the Noodles lmao
na deadass lmfaoo
4:10 I love how Po just casually walks before hitting him
Someone else in a different comment section pointed out that the reason Po was such a great fighter was because he was able to use the environment to his advantage
Watch some Jackie Chan movies; improv is insanely useful, not just hilarious~
He did take advantage of it, but its Not only because of his environment. In the second movie he beats shen while being on a small raft. And in the third movie he fights kai in the spirit realm by using the "true" dragon warrior powers
@@snipermonkey3428 I’ll give kai credit cause that was all on him in the spirit realm but the second villains defeat wasn’t from his own strength but it came from PO dodging all of the cannon balls and using them to destroy all the cannons. And the guy died from falling debris caused by the explosives.
I love how Po was able to beat Tai Lung by himself with probably only a few months of training while the five altogether with years of Kung Fu experience were barely able to stand against Tai Lung
I think this was covered by someone else once before. Po's fighting style was a direct counter to how Tai Lung fought. Which is why he was able to thread the needle.
Weight class matters
Well, Po was kinda studying ALL FIVE fighting styles through his life as being overly-obsessed fan-boy. Dragon warrior is exactly this - the master of all five fighting styles. Being immune to immobilization attacks also helps. I just love how this feature of Po's body was ignored by his fellows.
Months? Bro, it wasn't even week. :D And yeah, it make no sense that Po defeated Tai Lung.
I just thought about it and like... Tai Lung really had a chance for redemption there. Like yea he was angry that the scroll he worked so hard for was nothing, but you could see that the true fight was gone from him already. Especially once he realized his chi blocking didnt work. He didn't need to be chi nuked
Yeah, like, Tai Lung had absolutely already lost. He'd basically given up, and he got dusted with no hesitation. Even if not outright redemption, I don't think Po needed to go far enough to kill the guy.
The rare occurrence in a movie where the main character doesn't show mercy to the opponent. Usually it's the other way around where they spare the enemy only for them to backstab them moments after.
Well he kinda gave him a chance, he explained the secret and genuinely wanted to help him, but when that didn’t work Po was like “And your done”
@@solidzack I mean, Po did show him mercy when he opened the scroll
Po just effortlessly dodges and probably waited for Tai Lung to just collapsed but the second Tai Lung called him fat, he's done.
What I find really interesting is the reason why Tai lost, is because he’s never gone against someone like him, I mean he’s so he would expect him to fight the same as everyone else
No because Tai Lung was distracted by the dragon scroll and he was realized it’s was nothing
Explains why he took a hit from a drunken punch that he could have clearly countered
It kinda funny how this man just added sound effect when they were not even in the movie
Love how Tai Lungs fight against the Five and Shifu are dramatic and epic like those characters, but they let Po's fight be goofy and full of slapsticc but still emotional and well choreographed.
I would be mad about the sound effects but somehow they they made a all ready funny fight even funnier
Po's face when Tai Lung called him fat always makes me laugh.
Notice how their actual 1v1 fight is actually right outside Po’s house
Lets not forget the fact that this entire fight was a spanish bullfighting, with po using the scroll as the red mantle and tai lung as the bull focus more on the mantle than in the matador until he gets tired.
You know, considering how confident Tai Lung is in his own abilities and his destiny, you would think that he would take Poes words more to heart. That he would realize just how strong his words are about the fact that there is no secret to being some special warrior or master of kung fu. You just need to be you.
Honestly, Tai Lung finding out the scroll was blank was heartbreaking.
Imagine spending your entire life working towards a goal, being denied of that goal, spending 20 years in prison……getting out and then realizing it was all for nothing.
Shifu and his dragon warrior BS essentially cost Tai Lung his life
Love the health gain after eating spaghetti 😂 1:28
Ye that surprised be too
Noodles
This fight truly was a cartoon fight
And its great XD
Tai Lung just trying his best to get the Dragon Scroll.Immediately Po just had fun with him.😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
I hope in KP4 they give Tai Lung a sorta redemption arc because unlike the other villains in this franchise he’s not far beyond redeeming.
Cool how the third movie cleared up he was just sent to the spirit realm, but was funny when all just assumed Po murdered Tai Lung.
When you fight the final boss but you use the unusual strategy, that even devs didn't expect.
Even better is if you found it out by mistake hahaha
Seriously, this has to be the most amazing battle ever put to animation. How they choreographed this MASTERPIECE of a film has to be STUDIED.
i like the addition of the cartoony sound effects
I did not
It would have been alot better without it, it doesn't make sense after we saw many serious battles and badassery of Tai Lung... It's hard to explain but then in the final battle it's just so out of the place with those sound effects
Damn. The concept of healthbars in this fight made the scene much more interesting than it already is
To be honest this is better with the cartoon sound effects
100%
for sure yeah
That one dude that loves to use the environment in fighting games
You all notice this fight had forshadowed the next 2 films villians? Po would use fireworks to help him in this fight, in second film it told how Shen's parents had invented fireworks. Po would send Tai lung into the spirit world which would be where Kai would come from.
I like how Po's health increased when he ate the noodle
Morale lol
Po the laziest lazy po panda po lazy po panda ponda
Also the extra sound effects you added in are great. :)
I can't imagine how embarrassed Tai Lung must have felt knowing he's losing to a Panda.
This could still use some more expressive sounds effects, but overall, I honestly find it _really_ impressive that you made this great a video by resisting to put in any farts, cartoon screams & Ed, Edd n' Eddy sound effects.
While I appreciate it, I actually found this video from CZcams and decided to use it for my healthbars.
Tai Lung: What are you gonna do, sit on me?
Po: Perhaps.
5:15 "Seriously?"
I realized this is a meme taken
The added sound effects are a good countermeasure against a copyright strike.
The true reason why Tai Lung lost at the end was because he got so confused by the empty dragon scroll, unable to believe that the greatest scroll had no great secret, but just a simple message that you are the secret. Tai Lung, who believed only in external sources for Kung Fu, was so confused by it.
He looked at the scroll and only saw his reflection, "Its nothing". There his spirit was killed allowing po to easily defeat him
That HP recovery was awesome
I love how the movie sets up and pays everything off in the fight. Especially the acupuncture scene that shows po has deep nerves therefore tai lung’s nerves punches don’t work.
The health regen from eating the noodles lol

Man coppa really ruined
The unnecessary sound effects makes it funnier lmao
Fr, my free trial of humor expired lmao
And you call them unnecessary 😂

The Tom and Jerry sound effects made it a bit funnier xD
Or Ed Edd N Eddy sound effects.
I don’t know why but the way tai lung screams out no has stayed with me all my life and has been the primary way of me saying it since
the special effects gave this fight a whole new element.
Indeed
Yep
I find it real funny how Tai Lung treats Po like a joke. Then he gets absolutely destroyed by Po
I just realized those fireworks never exploded
This fight proved why weight class matters
2:07 when shes home alone
Sir you have made my day 🤣
Tai Lung lost to Po because Po unlike your stereotypical Kung Fu warrior was different, he had an unconventional approach to Kung Fu which made him unpredictable I guess that's what master ugwe saw when he chose Po as the Dragon Warrior.
Also not to sound prejudice, but pandas did save ugwe and teach him to use chi... so kind of a premonition that way.
also he was fat... natural armor to ki type attacks
well that's what the movie is about
The sound effects make it so funny.
Fr fr
Most likely the family movie cartoon in which I laughed the most.
The fighting scenes, and even the narrative are hillarious.
LETS GO!!!!!
Tai Lung really wanted a legendary battle, and it was till the very end. Po really held himself well against his pressure point attacks as his body weight and strength kept him alive throughout the fight. Hence why Po's the dragon warrior through and through the trilogy.
2:46 This is the most badass kick in all of animation
The force was so much it kept him still in air lmao
Dang u guys made my day 😂
I know people talk about the goofiness of this fight and Po's plot armor, but if you think about this fight in the context of reality it's kinda interesting. A fight between a snow leopard which do live in China and a giant panda is entirely possible. And the likely result would be the much larger bear scaring the much smaller leopard off or injuring it badly. I think Tai Lung and most of the other characters who fight Po are the ones with plot armor because in the real world pandas are genuinely bears which means they're one of the largest predators in their region (the south china tiger is about the same size as a panda) even though they don't hunt like a predator. Pandas are small for bears, but they're still fucking big; they still have the big sharp claws and teeth of any other bear and they're actually designed to eat meat just like any other bear (they just don't for some reason).
That's a logical comparison but I think the point of this fight is likely to show the audience that you can master a martial art for your whole life, and be considered one of the greatest fighter's with respect to that art. That being said, in a real fight against a complete stranger, anything goes. We see Po using the terrain and surroundings to do most of the fighting. You can also say that Tai Lung was a bit unlucky to have encountered such items and such terrain where Po is at his best. This shows that in a real fight no matter how skilled you are, anything can happen. We saw Tai Lung practicing Kung Fu for Shifu for his whole life, however no amount of training or talent or fitness could have prepared him for such a scenario. Anything can happen in a fight, which is why a real fight with no rules is unpredictable.
Except po doesn't have claws
You are missing the point completely, this is a movie about martial arts where a Panda who isn't even serious or in form defeats a trained martial artist without doing anything, Tai Lung was an absolute joke
Because they have found eternal peace
Did he really gain health after eating the noodle omg this is hilarious
yeshe gain health
He loves noodles
A little.
Why do the Cartoony Noises make it so fucking hilarious?!
I realized that this is the first and only time that Po and Tai Lung had a scene together which it’s where the hero and villain finally meet.
Just like Kung Fu Panda 3
I mean, Po did sit on Tai Lung when they roll down from the stairs 😂
One of the best fights in animation.
Eh.
Imagine how tilted Tai Lung was:
He spent his entire childhood training
Then 20 years in prison, getting out, soloing his way through Furious Five and his Teacher ONLY to be stopped by a noob with 5 hours in the game
Lol
Yo thats actually the best way to represent it.
thats because while he was gone there were like 3 expansions and the low end gear became stronger than the maxed gear of tai lung's time, hes outdated
@@ultratronger well Kai would like to disagree with his 500 year old gear

Bout to comment on that
2:26 was the moment i laughed so much in the theater my dad had to make me shut up lmao
Rewatching this just made me realise that the only reason Po Won. Was a mixture of luck, (bouncing off the pillar, the tree happening to bend perdectly in sinc woth Tai, Tge fireworks cart being there.) Tai Lung being unfamiliar with the chi points of nearly extinct panda's and Tai taking uneccesary hits while trying to grab the scroll rather than focua on Po, the threat at hand.
There are no accidents
Po was never lucky, everything happenes for a reason. To be fair po wasn't trying to fight Tai but instead make him realize that their was no dragon scroll and that it was really right in front of him the whole time. Po deafeted tai after discovering that his body fat immunes him to Tai Lung's nerve strikes.
Edit: Tai Lung is ultimately decimated when Po utilizes the Wuxi Finger Hold on tai (figuring it out by himself), which sent him to the spirit realm.
Tai didn't think Po was a threat that's why he only focus on the scroll
Tai Lung's mistake was that he was too focused on a single target that he was oblivious to his surroundings, and his single-mindedness means he couldn't adapt to new situations or unconventional fighting styles. Po beat him by using the surroundings to his advantage whenever an opportunity arose and responding quickly.
Po has a unique style of kung fu. It's unpredictable and uses a lot of redirection. Even if it seems accidental it's just natural to him. It's why he was chosen. He wins against tai lung every time. No dif. Simply because he has mastery over his self
What I always liked about this fight is that Po used every element of his surrounding during the fight, like tha pans or fireworks in. The way Tai Lung least expected
Plus in the first half, Tai Lung did beat him regardless. Only then with the dragon scroll reveal he lost his will to fight this he became unfocused while Po became more focused
The sound effects were great. They made me laugh.
Appreciate you for leaving the comments open. Normally doesn't happen in videos of animated movies.
Because of CZcams politics, only people with CZcams kids can coment on those videos.
I think CZcams auto-locks those video comments
Yeah, and it's bullshit, I think it should be up to the uploader if they want the video to be put under CZcams Kids

Tail lung is the best kungfu panda villian he knows how to fight he is as skilled as po. Shen just have a super cannon and Kai just takes chi and he is very powerful. But the fight between po and tai lung, it's better becuz those twos are like the same level
The sounds make it like a Tom and Jerry episode😂
The noodles really did heal Po, nice job
Bro casually sending man's to the spirit realm.
I love how tai went back and forth between po and shifu like he didn’t believe what he was seeing🥲
Everyone was quick to discount Po's talent in the martial arts yet consider this - just based off his encyclopedic knowledge of Kung Fu history and his limited training he managed to figure out an advanced master-level technique like the Wuxi finger hold on his own. That definitely requires more talent than one might think.
Well you do have a point, but in kung fu panda 3 Kai revealed that it was Oogway who taught Po that trick

The sound effects are perfect for the absurdity of the fight
