Well, Lord Al. The backscene looks great the bridge it in great shape, just that tiny gap on the left. The 9F is beautiful and the sound chip is wonderful. The cold weather dose cause some issues with glue and paint. Fingers crossed, another month and it will start warming up. Great video, thank you.😊
Nice update on Bridge Project.. 9F certainly sounded the bees knees and running qualities. Old adage … you pay for what you get .. Making me want to buy a 9F and sound it .. My present 9F is a static Airfix Kit, Evening Stsr, loaded on an Eddie Stobart, being transferred between locations to be installed on roadway as layout progresses.. x The Bigfella x
It`s a lovely Loco to have Bigfella. And with the lok sound she runs so smooth. and has a dam good sound file on board. The bridges are coming along lovely .Should be all done in the next week or so .
Hi Lord Al and Barbara. Bridge looks superb Al, back scene really goes with it lovely. Engine shed area looking brilliant as well. As you know dcc well beyond my thick brain. But hey that 9F is fantastic. Thanks for showing us mucker. Pete.
Hi Alan, great video of my favourite sound decoders, the Esu Loksound V5’s are superb in so many ways as you have such a large amount of adjustment on them and the memory is superb, I’m not a Hornby loco fan because of issues I’ve had with their 21 pin HST packs, I must say that I really like the 9F, I have a tender driven model from the mid 90’s made in England, it’s pristine and runs very well, the new 9F is one I would have but I’ve seen a couple of videos of them with not so great motors, so for now I just watch them until I feel I won’t get a bad one then get messed about by Hornby who want you to send it back so they can have a look, they don’t send out spare parts like other manufacturers who care.
I love the new back scene. Great demo of the 9F, one advantage you have with your layout, is that the trains go away, so does the sound. We tail chasers you always have the sound there around you. Great video.
Hi 'Happy Al'! The bridges look great and i love that backscene! The sound coming out from that 9F is amazing tbh.I have seen load's of video's where the sound doesn't match the engine wheel's and that winds me up lol ;) I am glad you have it sorted now.Take care AL.
I know you're not completely done with the bridge, but the color is looking good and it fits so well there. The 9f certainly came alive with the new decoder and speakers. Nicely done that! Cheers, m'Lord... thanks for another great visit into the Land of Lavvies!
I love your 9F steam engine with sound. I can't cater for sound-fitted model engines, and I'm not jealous that you have sound-fitted steamies alongside Robert and Sam etc. I love listening to the sounds of model and real steamies alike, no matter what type they are. But you can't surpass the sounds of a GWR steamy like Foxcote Manor hard at work. Little Miss 9F is a credit to your railway. Perhaps you could add some bridge parapets to close the gap on the upper level. The colour of them is up to you. You're the "expert" modeller.
Hi Al- The bridges do go nicely with the new back scene and will look great once you have finished. The new decoder and speaker gives a big improvement in sound and the control is excellent I do like the brake function on Zimo & Esu decoders and I agree Richard at Roads and Rails gives excellent advice , All in all the 9F is a great new addition . Cheers Kev
Thank you for your very precise demonstration. It always gives me pleasure to visit Dragons Junction and see your layout. The bridge is looking good. I expect the management is putting pressure on the contractors to get everything finished on time.
hi Alan great video looking forward to see the bridge end been completed looking good so far. the 9f what a machine roads and rails are brilliant what Richard can do with speaker upgrades and Enhancement of any model he service is great has he just recently done my class 58 just before Christmas. take care hope you feel 100% soon.
LORD AL! Very impressive backsene and the bridges are looking good mate. Really like the 9F and glad you sorted the sound issues such a shame Hornby cant make a decent decoder. All the best to you and your family.
Hi Allan, The new backscene looks great and the bridge is coming along well and yes the weather is not helping us much is it but the 9F is a super engine and the esu chips are still the best I do wish that Hornby would get there act together because competition in the market place keeps prices down but a very nice video well done. Cheers Robert.
Hi Allan. It’s must be soooo frustrating that the Hornby chip was rubbish and let you down the way it did. But it seems you have found a very worthy substitute. Sound great for sure. Hope you are feeling well now. See you soon big fella 😊😊😊👍👍👍 Steve 😜
Thanks Steve all good again. The play factor with this lok sound chip is great .does all sorts of little things. Not stopped running it ..lol..and it runs so smooth.
That new chip is the buisness sounds so much better and the uncoupling function is a great touch too thanks for sharing, bridge is also coming on nicely!
Thank you Mark. i see your building bridges as well .Not easy is it trying to match up roads .lol.. but that sound chip does a lot more than you think well worth £125. lol
Hi Allan, I’m with you on the hm 7000 another rush job from hornby not getting it right before launch bridge and back scene coming together nicely esu sound chips are good but mega expensive if they dropped the price by £50 they would be in all my locos and I think they would sell a lot more cheers Al
Good evening Lord Al. Nice sounds from R&R always use Richard. Those hornby chips are chuffing rubbish. I've taken all my hornby chips out even the normal ones, nowt but trouble and replaced with R&R or DCC concepts zen black, much better performance. It has been cold I've resorted to the dining room table. Anyway Al if you're happy so am I 😂 cheers Andy
Lovely loco! I have 2 9Fs, both bachmann with standard sound. So much better than the Hornby TXS sound. I don’t think Hornby have ever made a decent chuff rate on their sound decoders. Your new decoder sounds so much better. Great choice. - Riggsy
That is a sweet 9F. Does sound good now even through YT audio compression. Might seriously have to think about getting a 9F plus sound and the right chip of course..
@@dragon-junction-MK2 Thank you, Alan, I am worried about Barrie as he is normally on every day and has been for years! But now nothing very strange. I hope he is in good health and ok.👍
Lord Allan, I've binned two Hornby hm7000 sound decoders, had nightmares with them on my 08+66, both now have ESU ones from roads n rails... I'll never use hm7000 again , that's over 150 quid I wasted on them including the Hornby stay alives...bag o shite
Hi Al and that’s great progress on the bridges, love’em! 👏👏👏. The 9F looks and sounds superb too - like my Crosti! 👍🏻. One thing though, is there any reason why the 9F is set up for 28 speed steps rather than 128. Not picking fault, just curious that’s all as I set all mine to 128 speed steps as I was told many moons ago that it gives finer control, as I said, just curious. Cheers. …………Graham
Thank you for watching Graham. All my fleet is set to speed step 28 .i just find it easier to control. it`s what you get use to mostly i guess . Yes 128 is a finer control but never felt the need Graham.
@@dragon-junction-MK2 Hi mate and thanks for the reply and that’s ok, whatever you are used is absolutely fine, not right or wrong. From the video then it looks and works a treat, I wouldn’t have even known that it was set to 28 if you hadn’t said anything but what do I know! 😂😂😂
Why cant they get the "chuff" sound right? They can get the diesels authentic sounds perfectly but steam forget it. All the other steam sounds are fine just not the chuff sound. Its a lovely looking loco though. All the best.
I'm going say this I'm not impressed with this hornby h.m 7000 decoder. As all I've heard from most people is that they are having issues . And like you AL I use ESU lol sound and I find them really good. Also if an way chip over time devomeloos a fault they will repair it or replace it free if charge . And the sound is good on them .
Well, Lord Al. The backscene looks great the bridge it in great shape, just that tiny gap on the left.

Hi Al
I don’t know what has happened, a couple of people mentioned a couple of weeks back that he had disappeared.
Thank you for your very precise demonstration. It always gives me pleasure to visit Dragons Junction and see your layout. The bridge is looking good. I expect the management is putting pressure on the contractors to get everything finished on time.
Well if the project manger gets off his ass the bridges should be nearly finished and up and running in the next two weeks. all being well.lol.

Not a fan of kettles especially the 9F but ESU chips every time for me. Do you not use 128 speed steps though?
why would you use 128 when 28 works fine.it`s only a flick of a button to change it but i don`t find the need to .
Very good indeed
Thank you.
How about, the Pen y Fan as a point to point back scene, never again😱😉 especially at "our" age😁
another good one ps do you know what has happened to barry davies kind regards Dave
