  • Kamikaze were part of the Japanese Special Attack Units in World War II intending on bringing total destruction to the enemy, and part of the honor was sacrificing one's life to bring victory to Japan, but what if the Kamikaze pilots failed? Today we're going to see what happens to a Kamikaze pilot that survived what was supposed to be their last mission. What happens to the disgraced survivors? Find out right here!

I (from USA) was living in Japan and visiting Kyoto with my (Japanese) wife and British boss. We got in a taxi and the driver was a kamikaze pilot who never took off. He sat in his plane on the runway and eventually they told them to move the planes back. His description of all that was so powerful. The war ended that day. He was really cool and I'm so glad we met him.

I would have to literally die for the country, or else, I would be shamed for the rest of my life! I’d gladly sacrifice myself if I were a Japanese person who was drafted to be a Kamikaze, not in the fear of shame, but in the spirit of how I will bring glory to my family, and my country.
Thinking about it in today’s scenario, if I had to sacrifice myself, in the hopes of the well-being of my country, I would gladly do so, and that is why I have the utmost respect for any country's military personnel, cuz they are literally giving up their lives to protect us, and if there was ever a situation where I am drafted, I would gladly accept my fate.

I rarely believe in a higher power, but I believe any kamikaze pilot who survived when asked why they did, it's obvious someone is saying "I have a different mission for you." Which is to explain why this Kamikaze strategy happened and then learn to live with the "shame" and figuring out that being alive isn't shameful at all. As any Japanese warrior throughout history can tell you, dying is easy, living isn't.

there’s also a poem called “kamikaze”
it talks about how the children of a kamikaze fighter were waiting for him to come back, and when he did he was ignored by his family and everyone in the community because that was supposed to be his last flight. Him not dying brought shame to him and his family. However his children still loved him
