I think kamikaze pilots where scared to die. But they where manipulated by peer pressure, threat of being shot if they said no, threat of dishonor and the lure of being called a "hero".
@@cryptohouse1676 not really, some were affraid to die but many that were not, it was not because of their bravery, but their beliefs, they believe that they will resurrect in the next life, but they could get a better next life if they were to die as an honored man dying for their country and the Emperor. Even nowadays in Japan, more people died from suicide more than Covid which was heavily impacted by their beliefs.
@@felixhk3084 it's not JUST their beliefs, it's literally their culture. Telling them to abandon their honor is like telling Americans to break all the amendments.
Also, their beliefs has nothing to do with suicide, most suicides are caused by economic struggles, pressure from everyone and mental illness like depression.

True. On that note, Allies in Europe later stated, as they got closer to Germany, the most fervent and difficult battles were the ones against the teenagers because they were full of adrenaline which made them seem fearless and they weren't afraid to die.

Whenever I hear about the story of Kamikazes, my gut always wrenches with fear, and I think about what if I had been born in Japan during those times. I would have to literally die for the country, or else, I would be shamed for the rest of my life! Iâd gladly sacrifice myself if I were a Japanese person who was drafted to be a Kamikaze, not in the fear of shame, but in the spirit of how I will bring glory to my family, and my country.
Thinking about it in todayâs scenario, if I had to sacrifice myself, in the hopes of the well-being of my country, I would gladly do so, and that is why I have the utmost respect for any country's military personnel, cuz they are literally giving up their lives to protect us, and if there was ever a situation where I am drafted, I would gladly accept my fate.
May God bless the souls of real heroes, the military, the people who give up everything for our wellbeing, and Rest in Peace for the souls of Kamikaze warriors.
