Mirrors and frames with the xTool S1

- After releasing my last mirror video, I realized that the required work area was too large for many machines on the market. I found some smaller mirrors and made the file for the 10 inch mirror that only requires 11.5 inches of work area. The files are in my Etsy shop.

Did a 10x10 mirror with frame and it came out great. I did it for our local Honor Flight and I received 5 orders at $40.00 each. Thanks for the video. If you like, I send you a photo.
Nice, that is some pretty good profit margin also.. Congrats.
I don't care for the xTool S1 because it doesn't have a camera, but you're a GENIUS when it comes to jigs...GREAT JOB!
Thank you very much!
With XTOOL Creative Space you can just mark the corners on the S1. No need for a camera.

Wow those mirror inserts really popped, way better than the pics I take, might have to get a degree in lighting LOL, Can we patent the idea, we'll make a fortune 🤣👍
Practice makes perfect. I keep trying..
Really awesome content and ideas, thank you!
Glad you like them!
Waiting for my S1 to arrive. It is like waiting for Christmas! Oh... :D Cheers from Texas. Love that multipurpose template jig!
Thanks…. Christmas is soon..
Can’t wait for your S1 template video!!
Coming soon!
Great video!
Thanks
Thanks so much.
You're welcome!
AMAZING. Ordering my S1 soon. @TheClackShack convinced me it's what I need (more like want). Looking forward to seeing much more content from you.
It is a good machine, using XCS took some getting used to for me.
Hi, I've just got my S1 so I'm finding your tutorials very helpful. As a long-time lightburn user I too am finding my way around xcs. However I will still predominantly be using lightburn, so I was wondering if you will be making a video on using the RA2 pro chuck rotary with lightburn for the S1?
Many thanks.
I plan to, just havn'et got around to it yet.
Have you tried engraving acrylic mirrror? I found it in temu 4pcs 30X30 mm about 15€ free shipping, Is lighter and it comes with stickers. If you put them in frame you can't tell the difference. Only that as i realized it becomes a little yellow in time . I haven't tried it yet but im thinking about it.
I haven't tried them..
i am watching way too much S1 tutorial while waiting for my S1 to ship.. I watched 1 where Kai from xTool scores a crosshair on the jig to use that as the guide to square and position the template. it is the one where he cosplay as santa wondering if he can batch job ceramic coasters on the S1. I think incorporating good ideas on different builds can help make tools that ease the making process.
For my orders, time is money and I have to make them faster. Thanks
what about putting blue tape on the mirror side to reduce the flashback.
The tape will cause interaction and ghosting where it is touching the glass.
Hey Man thanks for helping this newbie out with the XTool S1 i just ordered the file. Question is theJig file included? Chris
Not in the frame file. As I said in the video, not everyone that will want the frame, has an S1. The S1 file should be ready tomorrow.
@@TheClackShack I apologize saw the video after a long day..look forward to the fame file
No problem@@chrisoliver3851
Could you use the conveyor system to batch out even more?
Maybe, I don’t see a need though. The conveyor would be useful in longer engraves but not sure I trust it for jigging small items.
Thanks, it was a thought, and didn't know if anyone had tried it!@@TheClackShack
Can you come up with some of these ideas for the F1?
I will work with Steve, he has the F1 to use.
Isn’t the F1 engrave area too small for 10” mirrors?
The F1 would be, yes. @@philipershler420
where did you find the Declaration of Independence file? I've been looking for one.
Library of Congress.
Pardon the elementary question, but from you experience, is it faster to run the laser at high speeds on fewer items in the middle (like how your new jigs are built), rather than take full advantage of the laser's working space and do more items at once?
I prefer the faster speeds, running slower speeds and loading the work area will result in hours long runs. That doesn't afford breaks or time to prep the completed pieces. Being a one man operation, I prefer smaller batches. with coasters, I usually do sets of 4 with a design. I also run 3 lasers at a time on big jobs. with the smaller items, you can stack more in the workspace.
@@TheClackShack Well, that just makes all the sense in the world! Thank you so much for the detailed reply!!
New and haven’t setup my S1 yet but my question is can the S1 engrave a 12 inch mirror? Is the limit to the 10 inch mirror due to the frame or the jig requirement? Love your videos so helpful
@@PinkRibbionJayGeeThe S1 has a working area of 19.61” X 13”. So if you can get 12” mirrors, you could do those. But you would have to design your own frames. That wouldn’t be a very difficult job.
I have a ray5 10 watt do you know if they have a 20 watt module for that machine
Not sure, the B1 is the next machine up and it is a beast
Why wood glue instead of just CA?
Because I prefer wood glue
@@TheClackShackbest reason ever
I buy the 12 x 12” mirrors from Lowe’s then cut them to 4x4”. When I am finished I put them in 4” frames.
Cool
Nice informative video however when I use your link those mirrors are $30.27 Yee Ouchies
I must have got a sale. That is still only $3 each. They easily sell for $25 or more
@@TheClackShack Nice thank you good to know.
Just know the price includes a pack of 10 mirrors.
Yes, it does. Only 9 left after speed testing@@philipershler420
How does anyone make money with one of these? It takes 2 hours to run 12 mini coasters with an etching on them. Then they need sanding off to get rid of vapour marks, and I have the air assist. I love it, but man trying to batch anything other simple stuff is not gonna earn you a living.
File design is critical on object, Also the fastest speeds possible. Use a power and speed test on all materials.
@@TheClackShack any suggestions for golden rules or tips?
