Classic Back Issues
Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes did a similar story. Purple Man used his power on Tony Stark, and Stark became Emperor of the world. Vision woke up after a month long reboot, and freed everyone.
Keenan looks like a combination of Seth Rogen, and Rainn Wilson.
One of the most over-looked/ greatest Doctor Doom
stories ever told.
Great book and a great episode! The passionate discussion about the ethics of Dr. Doom ruling is a conversation I've had with friends as well so it's cool you guys took the philosophical points seriously. Keenan did a fantastic job, I'm sure the first time doing something like this is nerve wracking (trying not to make weird faces, not stuttering, and of course bring up important subjects) so hats off to you dude for putting yourself out there especially at the end. Keep up the good work dudes :)

Good eye! I'd counter that Keenan kinda looks like the Amalgam version of Comic Drake and Ethan.
So this is the Universe where Sal became Dr.Doom because Ethan wasn't there to use scientific logic to control Sal's rage and tired, wearied, jadedness of Marvel and DC comics bullshit.
When you hit 100k subs I expect to see the gang wrap Sal in foil and make a Tin Foil Doom!
technically you could use it for cosplay now because of Infamous Iron Man just stick your iron man helmet behind you on then put the hood up.

This story started to sound very familiar even though I know I've never read it. It was an episode of Avengers EMH! Except just purple man and vision instead of wonder man

This sounds loosely like the premise of an episode of Earths Mightiest Heroes, Emperor Stark. Vision is put away for a bit for repairs and comes back and everyone is under control of Purple Man.

Pretty sure Ant-Man was Scott Lang at this time. Hank Pym founded the Avengers. I'm not sure which of his various identities he was at this time.
There is a legitimate rivalry aspect between Simon Williams and Tony Stark beyond just a super-hero rivalry. It goes back (deep lore) to both being rival industrialists, and maybe Tony was smarter/more inovative. and then Simon's brother Eric, later the Grim Reaper, engaging in capitalist espionage and stealing tech secrets, and Simon taking the fall. Then we find out Simon did it. This fall somehow leads to the Baron Zemo treatments that make Simon into Wonder Man, and concurrently Tony's life has led him to be Iron Man. And then it's retro-swapped back to Eric, the Grim Reaper, really *did* do the crimes/sabotage. And..Well, it's one of those things that goes back and forth depending on Author and how they want to spin Wonder Man, more tragic? More victim? More heroic? I don't even know the current canon, but there's some jacked-up history between Tony and Simon way back to before either were heroes, and before Simon was an Actor. It's not worth knowing, and stupid, but that explains some of that relationship in this graphic. It was written out in early issues of WEST COAST AVENGERS, and has Simon spilling his guts on Johnny Carson (No, not Letterman.). It was running in the monthlies at the time this came out. That's just an explantion for some weird shit about confidence and rivalry/trust in this.

I think the moral of the book is that humanity should improve on it's own, not be forced to through mind control.
It's not improvement if you're not doing it of your own free will. Humanity hasn't gotten better, they've just been browbeat into behaving.

I think the point is if humanity had 30 years of Doom rule, where he just fixed everything and stopped war. You would imagine the next generation would not have the inclination to fight one another unless Doom got bored and decided to conquer the universe.
I love the larger size of the old Marvel Graphic Novels. There’s several really awesome stories from that series.

FifthHorseman23 - I agree. This is one of my favorite Avengers stories. There’s some very thought provoking material in this book. It’s a very underrated story and I don’t think it’s been reprinted.
I like Sal bringing more elements and entities from his past,
And there will come a time where Carol, Aaron, and/or Sam would sit on the couch with you guys.

Question; how does anybody still claim Doctor Doom's motives aren't selfish when this comic pretty well spelled that they are a hundred percent selfish. His claims of wanting conquest for the sake of the world are like Walter White saying he's dealing drugs for the sake of his family; it's a lie to convince himself his intentions aren't selfish.

Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the cartoon, has an episode based on this comic where Purple Man/Tony Stark takes over the world, and Vision is the one who is immune (because there's no invention present to control him). Kinda ironic considering he's stuck dancing in the original.

I like Michelinie and with Layton they're easily the most important Iron Man scribes but I disagree with him completely on War Machine. It seems to me based on things they've said that Michelinie really hated Kaminski's run and Layton seemed to dig it.
Doom could’ve easily fixed this by just saying “you can do whatever you want but if you decide to commit a crime you will immediately turn yourself in to the police” and everyone would’ve done it
