"It gets good after 12 hours" thats like saying "we give you the painmeds halfway through your toothremoval"
I'm 26 hours in and wondering when it is going to get good. What do they mean by that? What is going to happen that will make it good because I'm almost at the final main quest.
I laugh at anyone that preorders these games and then cry when they have issues.
Jonny Law enters his gamer arc.
Yeah, and a terrible time to do it now that developers are using DLSS and FSR as a crutch.
hahah it's gonna be awesome
Well, either way, I hope it helps him get the extra attention he deserves.
@@vipersb1 Time to stop using windows 95, and upgrade your 10MB hard drive, 5MB of RAM, ViRGE graphics card, and move on from Star Wars: Dark Forces and the original System Shock into the 21st Century. hehehe
finally ❤

great ethos. also, congrats on the sponsorship. well earned fella. you're schtuff has been fantastically entertaining. even when you're being hard on a game or subject, you're never nasty. it's always a cheeky poke. appreciate that 😁
BG3 is old Bioware. Its a fantastic game with so many replayable classes, narrative choices, and ways to enteract and engage with the world. It's personally been my game of the decade.
Also been impressed. Tons of content to keep me from looking elsewhere right now, thankfully.
It's a great game, easy best game of the year if not even a decade... but it has its flaws… just reach act 3 and You will see.
@hodor1765 are you insane? It's so blatantly woke the entire time. Literally everyone has gay options. EVERYONE
@@Marb.Gamingthere's more wrong than just act 3
@@johndodo2062 It's truly sad to see how you care so much about other people's sexual preferences. You should probably get a life, and meet people. In no way shape or form does this game shove "woke" anything in your face. There are options, in which someone can engage with, which is part of a Role Playing experience.
Act 3 dies have some issues, but nothing that really took me out of the immersion.
As someone who’s actually a subscriber to AZ and knows the actual context of his Rant, I appreciate how you used those clips of him without continuing disingenuous arguments about him. For real, it was funny and everything, we can all have a laugh, but people are taking it waaaay too far and out of context
As a self confessed Member of Az's channel I wholeheartedly agree.
I think you can absolutely disagree with him and say it doesn't bother you in the game, but the backlash against him has gotten a bit out of hands. So thanks Jonny for keeping it classy as always.
Yeah poor Az, his PTSD got triggered - reminding him of the time his irl black gf Adrienne revealed she was a dude.
AZ? Heel? Ya, I could see Dunkey going for the whole Bigot perspective on him - but it's mostly out of context. Not that I mind Dunkey, I think he's good.
At least I know Az isn't trying to BS me, or make excuses for people who want to degrade a product just to score points with people who despise everything about those products.
Starfield: “Every field has a fence” 😂
Honestly, the open world aspect of games has gotten WAY out of hand, glad you addressed that! I'm excited to see if Assassin's Creed Mirage will be successful or not after eliminating the giant open world concept.
Ok, kept watching and you mentioned AC, my bad 😂
I am replaying Dying Light atm, the map sizes are great, the world rocks. Size only matters is you're a.... So, I totally agree with Jonny, as long as the game's good, then we are all good to go.
It's a shame Techland are now majority owned by Tencent Holdings Ltd. Tencent are introducing live service elements and microtransactions to the Dying Light franchise, which is a real shame, dreadful.
I am currently playing Dying Light on Steam, but there are commercial/business decisions which are annoying me, like being prompted to play with randos in coop mode all the time, plus other small nuisances. So, I might yo ho ho it and play it without the aggravations caused by the pure commercial decisions Tencent are placing in the game.
Techland is dead, long live Tencent.
No vehicles, man. No bloody vehicles!
Dumbfounding decision.
It's Luke, Han and Leia not being in a single scene together all over again.
"Limitations breed creativity"
I love that!
Builds a PC, immediately gets a PC sponsorship, lol. Awesome man, good on you! This is one of my favorite channels and deserves all the subs you can get.
At the same time don't let nice prebuilt systems dampen your experience of being able to operate on, build, maintain, fix, or upgrade your hardware. A valuable, fun skill that pays for itself over and over forever.
oblivion is indeed the best bethesda game, its just sad that bethesda thought that a good game 17 years ago could still be as good of a game now, without the nostaliga that is
If you re-released oblivion on a modern engine, you'd be canceled first, then it be a 10/10
@@danielnolan8848 it's sad how Skyrim has been re released like 10 times but it's put on modders to remake oblivion
@@rayous5480 Because people are still playing, replaying and modding Skyrim. Oblivion, not so much.
@@CarlWheatley-wi2cl which would be fixed with a remake/remaster
As wide as an ocean yet as deep as a puddle
Your content is really coming along mate, keep it up, great video!
i get what your saying but the excuse of "its a bethesda game what do you expect" doesnt hold up real well anymore and the bethesda charm has certainly worn thin after 76
The real problem the obvious problem is todd Howard came into a genre that didn't want him stole our stuff and tried to sell it back to us. Now we're picking it apart for the garbage it is and coming together like, "This is from my game!"
We were already stealing from each other. So when he took a mechanic or design from one of us he lifted it from two others too.
So now not one of the people who were already in the genre can play starfield and not see three better games.
And its infuriating because the thesda fans do nothing but play thesda so they just argue and tell us we simply don't understand fun...
The fans are looking like bigger fools than todd this time and its pretty sad.
Cut Scenes in this game is like you buying the best gear for your horse in Skyrim, the horse looks incredible, and it costs you thousands of coin only to jump on that horse, and not be able to ride it. You quick travel the location without riding your horse, and you gifted the wonder, and beauty of seeing your horse in a cut scene. Imagine how many copies they would have sold of Skyrim or any of their games? Not many but for some reason or other they seem to be okay with it in Starfield.
Jonny you are an entertaining CZcamsr, you little rascal. You don't play by the rules. I like it.
6:45 got me 🤣 great video man, and I appreciate how you didn't take Az's rant out of context like some people have done.
What was the context everyone is missing?
@@EnriqueMaxxthere is a video by Jeremy (DDayCobra) on the Geeks + Gamers channel analysing the entire thing. It's called "Starfield Pronoun RANT Explained" - sums it up better than I could ever hope to do.
@@JohnDavidSullivan appreciate the suggestion but I've seen it. It doesn't add more context it's just pretty much the same. He's just as weird as that AZ guy. Actually probably a little worse since I think he's less genuine about his content. Most of his videos are clickbait or about woke outrage. This is the guy that thought Across the Spiderverse was too woke. 🙄 It's like most of his channel so of course he agrees with that crazy bald guy. They're the new SJW's at this point. Seems weird to let stuff like this upset you so much. Honestly I think they're grifters playing it up for views. Or at least I hope so cause it's just too weird if not.
What, that he is overreacting ( for views ofc) over basically nothing?
@@garrusvakarian309 yeah pretty much. If you actually watch that video from Geeks+Gamers this guy suggested for "context' it actually makes thing worse. It starts with a clip of AZ completely misunderstanding what's actually happening in the game because he's too busy assuming it's about trans people when it's actually just a woman saying she is a clone, not a trans person. He assumed trans and then started ranting over her dialogue. Then it goes into his speal about pronouns. Which is also misleading because he acts as if you're forced to make a choice but if you've actually played the game you know that it defaults to match the gender of your character with traditional pronouns. The game just give you an option change it IF you want to. He's acting like it's forces you to choose. It's all just crazy the guy is just a transphobe. Idk why his followers are being so disingenuous about what happened.
there is an AZ inside all of us straining to be allowed out and speak freely... #let your inner AZ break free
Pretty good summary by the sounds of it. I haven't even had a chance to play it yet but been watching a looooot of people playing it and sharing their thoughts. Judging it on vanilla is definitely the way to go. Too often the argument of "just use mods" is made to defend poor work from the devs.
I'll get round to playing it at some point but yeah, looks like a Bethesda game and is getting the reaction of a Bethesda game lol
Top tier video Mr Law 👌
Congrats on the cyberpower partnership fella, I got my pc 3 years ago from them & it's been running great ever since
In conclusion: Play BG3😂😂 very true, cultured sir. Very true indeed!
When you realize that the theme song of Pirates of the Carribean is basically a rehash of Hans Zimmer's theme song for The Rock.
Moving on up with that new sponsor! Congrats, man. Genuinely happy for you. You deserve it.👏👏👏
You should grow a handlebar moustache. Would suit you very well and help the channel.
Cringe Confession time here: there was a period in my life that, when I first left the house in the morning, I would automatically start hearing the 'Morrowind' theme playing in my head.
Thank you thank you, Jonny, for doing an actual PROPER review of this game, with reasonable, RELEVANT critique points, (as I have grown to expect from you anyway, but it's still good to have it confirmed in real time.) You put to shame the knuckle-dragging numpties who think screaming "PROE-NOWOONS!!" and beating their little fists on their chair-arms is a mature way to for a grown adult to act.
The no map thing bothered me, but it was the combat system, boring exploration, and glitches that made me stop playing. I was among those unlucky enough to experience a main quest section not activating, so I was basically stuck doing side quests until I got bored. This bug literally stopped me from proceeding forward in the main quest unless I made a new character. Even then, I better hope the bug doesn't occur again.
There wasn't really much of a point to explore because all mines and abandoned bases begin to look the same. There's no special events to randomly come across and be rewarded meaningfully for exploring and conquering a discovered location. I remember a mod from Oblivion that scattered powerful and unique looking ayleid style weapons across Cyrodiil. The weapons were hidden quite well by the modder so it made exploring ruins worth it. Starfield doesn't seem to have anything like this.
Bethesda vanilla animations tend to suck period. The Starfield animations are janky as hell much like other older Bethesda games. I'm still amazed how a few modders can create animations and effects for games like Oblivion and Skyrim that makes the combat animations and gameplay far superior to anything Bethesda has made in multiple games. The melee still sucks although it's better than Fallout 4. At least Bethesda finally gave two different walking/running animation sets to select during character creation. Too bad it doesn't seem to effect how your character swings a melee weapon though.
Baldurs gate 3 is indeed the supreme rpg
Man ur videos are super entretaining, keep it up!!
The overwhelming damnation for Starfield is that it ISN'T a full "Bethesda Game", it does NOT emulate "The Formula". It's a Fast Travel Simulator with a broken disjointed world that if you took everything actually unique and interesting and put it onto one actual Open World, you'd likely have less content than Skyrim or F4.
They bastardized and neutered almost everything that makes a Bethesda game a Bethesda game, and good despite their flaws. It's Bethesda without soul, a shat out ESG Animus to fake a synthetic soul.
Awesome! Livestreams will be great. It so awesome to see your channel growing so much. You earned it Jonny! (Also your new PC looks like its Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan.)
Agree. Oblivion was something else.
does this game take place in the Fallout universe? because it looks like alot of the NPCs have a Jet problem
I’ve played 38 hours on Xbox series s, and besides the occasional frame drops and npcs being weird, I haven’t had any game breaking glitches. I heard about the new Atlantis glitch before I accidentally did it so I was good there. My weapons disappeared once and a force close and restart didn’t fix it, so I had to reload a previous save. Other than that I’ve had about 10 crashes and about 5 freezes where I had to force close.
One of the many reasons I like Dragon's Dogma so much. While not being open-world per se, It does strike a perfect balance of being quite expansive, while also being fun to explore by having treasures and loot and enemies, all throughout the presented world. And moreover, the loot is often RNG and always respawns after 7 or so in-game days, adding tons of replay value. One day you might find a mushroom in a chest The next day you might find a fire sword in the exact same chest.
Dragon's Dogma 2 (still in development) is about to be the single-player game of the century, I'm calling it.
On your limitations breed creativity comment, I've been thinking about the differences between the original metroid prime and halo 1. Halo obviously went for scope and huge scale, but prime did the most it could in confined very detailed environments and visually at least I believe it's held up better. I think art style and not producing beyond what's achievable is a good path forward for game developement.
Bethesda's largest game is still "Daggerfall", and it is from 1996. The reason Morrowind is so small is that they decided that a huge RNG map with no depth was boring so they instead made a smaller game with far more advanced NPCs and more of a story, a more polished game. Ever since they have moved towards Daggerfall again, I guess what goes around comes around.
"It just works"...
Thanks for recommending Sea of Stars, i dont usually play these kinds of games (or any games for that matter, these days atleast) but this video was the best possible ad for it for me lol. i might have gotten it through some alternative ways rn........BUT i will buy it very soon, as i love it only 2 hours in. Thanks again and great vid as always!
Was it Daggerfall with the largest map in the series? I forget which Elder Scrolls game it was, but I heard one of them still has not been explored completely by the community.
"exaammms can waaaiiit" im howling! so true! I was like that with Skyrim and assassins creed 2 & brotherhood. Good to see your view and points on this game, deffo made me laugh at points!
Also happy to see the ad sponsor here, good call! Look forward to the livestreams!!! XD
The view of planet surfaces in the outdoors looks like it was ripped straight out of No Man's Sky.
That Oblivion music did have the taverns turneth

Oh, the..."next" iterration of the Oblivion engine?!
That was old 20 years ago, it is ridiculous now XD
20 hours plus: not a single glitch.
NGL I liked your video before it even started! Your humor is really entertaining keep it up!
Just wanna say i love your videos i first found you from your rings of power video and you had me dying lauging and you still make me laugh alot to this day keep up the good work man.
I loved that last line as someone who's addicted to bg3 right now
Well looks like until ES6 ever comes out, I ll stick with Skyrim, Doom and Wolfenstein on Bethesda's list. At least from what I used to and still enjoy playing.
Same dud. Same. Dishonored too
If you want good Space Music, look up Risk of Rain’s soundtrack (any of the games though 2 is my favorite). Chris Christodoulou made an amazing soundtrack
How many fans does one PC need Jonny!? There are, like, 12 in that thing!
On the by, glad my funding of Sea of Stars helped you have some more fun :)
Love the PC !!!!
6:50 lol, I got her up TOO close as well!
excited for the live streams returning!!! we may have to run some Apex again jonny
jonny law update your nvidia driver. new one released yesterday and it helps starfield performance
I've been playing Blastphemous 2 and like....every room is either a fight, or something beautiful/disturbing/fuckin weird (sometimes all three) to look at. And yeah it's not "open world" but it feels more free and alive than the planets on Starfield look! Hell, I recently re-downloaded No Man's Sky and IT has all the stuff you were saying Starfield is missing! And that game is like 7 years old!!
The character's gun handling is the same as in Doom? Why would you point a gun at the lift's buttons?
my fav song from TES4 Oblivion is and will always be 'PEACE OF AKATOSH'

honestly ive just done what i did with this game as ive done with the last few games ive played, look at none of the controversy and go play it without looking for problems, And ive moderately enjoy my time in starfield. Of course the few bugs i’ve encountered have been annoying and theres some jank here and there. But ive also just gotten it free on xbox gamepass.
Can't wait for the streams Jonny boy
Az is more famous now than the Pope after that rant.
I got a feeling they’re gonna go the Skyrim route and use a lot of modded stuff as a dlc to beef it up more.
Your conclusion is perfect...
Where did you get Shad’s sword?
That is one sexy rig Jonny. Also great video as usual :)
Jonny… Jonny. That “Skyrim” music is from oblivion dude.
I'm playing rogue galaxy, also ff13 is fantastic and everyone should give it a second chance
Gotta say this is a sweet looking computer.
Spent the entire video thinking "this is all well and good, but what about Baldurs Gate 3?" - I'm glad you didnt dissapoint :D
I never understood peoples love for open world. Sure its fun to explore a new place for the first 10 minutes or so but the main questline ends up taking 40 extra hours because of all the holding w from area a to area b
I haven't played Star Field, but I know other Bethesda games and have seen a review or two, so I feel qualified to review this game myself:
It looks like Fallout 4, but in space, with less glitches, prettier shaders and textures, a bigger map, but even less diverse content.
Why is anyone playing this?
My mission glitched and they patched the game a few times but it didn’t fix my mission. So I just gave up on the game. It became very repetitive
You can fly the ship in space and obviously it matters in space battles. Idk man that’s pretty cool to me
Wooo Sea of Stars! Brilliant game and deserves all the praise it gets.
Az's rants are great! :D
+1 for conclusion
Sea of Stars? Oh, that reminds me, is Star Ocean 2 Remake out already?
I've already played Starfield 5x over already without even playing it.
Indeed, quality over quantity. Something game developers sadly have forgotten over the years.
The ship building sounds like a minigame lol
Bro I was just saying that myself to all my friends about Sea of Stars. That is the BEST RPG on the market today!
I love big map open world games, but I like when there's a reason they're big. Tears of the kingdom is huge, but there's all sorts of secrets to find. That's what I like.
TotK has an open world that's actually designed as part of the game. Most of these open world games just use the open world as an empty buffer to load the next thing, which is soulless. The open world is essentially the sixth dungeon in TotK, every new field and forest hiding secrets that require you to use all of the games mechanics to explore. Oh, and it's FUN.
Great to have you onboard
Ive been enjoying the game quite alot, but I havr gotten extremely lucky cause with iver 110 hours I still havent had any bugs or glitches
i havent played it yet but to me from what I've seen it doesn't look like 10 years of dev more like maybe 3 or 4. big ass waste of time but i want my damn ES6.
listen, I haven't bought a game when it's first came out in years! wait a month or two and it will be cheaper and work properly. that's what I did with cyberpunk and was glad I did
Sea of Stars is amazing, more fun than Starfield for sure
I gotta say, bethesda fans are kinda mad because of politics affecting their bugs, and new players are kinda mad with the bugs affecting their games. But man when you said people are mad because bethesda made a bethesda game, I screamlaugh here dude
Bethesda fans are playing Starfield. Bethesda haters are grifting harder than ever.
LIVESTREAMING COMING SOON!!!! Looking forward to that Jonny!
I was having this discussion with soemone, I think Bethesda's design for their action role-playing games, especially this "Elder Scrolls" style of game is better suited to high fantasy settings. Much like how CDPR's game design from the Witcher series was implemented in Cyberpunk, it, much like you say, 'when it works it's great but when it doesn't it's disappointing'. Starfield honestly looks like a discount Star Citizen.
I started modding within minutes of early access release lol.
So Bugthesda is still Bugthesda. How can anyone even pretend to be surprised? 😂😅😂😅😂
It just works
Man I just started sea of stars what a wonderful game
You confused interstellar with inception 4:45
Huh, a Bethesda game that has bugs and modders need to fix things.
If we could've known in advance. 🤷♂️
No maps, no instructions... The best way to spend a lot of time without actually having fun, so that Bethesda can make more money off of XBox subscription services. What a cheap rip-off.
I only wanted to skip your advertisement, because I can only dream to own a computer that beautiful one day.
