I live 45 minutes from the home/museum and town where Laura Ingalls Wilder lived as an adult and wrote her books. My Aunt remembers singing Christmas carols at her home in the 50’s. She and Almanzo are buried just a few feet away from my grandparents.
The cream fireplace is cute. I don't think I've seen one in that color before.

I agree! I love that everything she has in her house is meaningful and special. I never could understand how some people can have a house and let someone else come in and decorate it. To just pick out objects that have no meaning to them.

Un lieu très inspirant... avec de très jolies pièces d'un autre temps...
Toutes ces antiquités sont magnifiques et il semble que vous aimiez le MOUVEMENT, l'ACTION (le fait d'agir...) dans chaque scène de peinture, sculpture, photographie...
On a tous des passions, des couleurs, des thèmes qui nous touchent plus que d'autres... Personnellement, je préfère les brocantes, plutôt que les antiquités, et ce que l'on appelle l'art populaire, le style populaire des siècles passées... plutôt le décor d'une ferme, d'une petite longère, qu'un grand manoir ou qu'un immense chateau... mais j'avoue que c'est très beau chez vous !...
J'admire vraiment votre passion pour créer un lieu plein d'inspirations et de beautés...
Vos enfants et votre mari partagent-ils les mêmes centres d'intérêts et se reconnaissent-ils dans vos choix, dans vos envies, dans vos projets esthétiques ?... Il est difficile de trouver quelqu'un avec qui partager le même centre d'intérêt pour l'ancien, pour l'art, pour le style... pour le jardinage...
Merci de nous montrer de si jolies choses chez vous, et toute votre recherche d'une esthétique que vous sublîmez...

I find this room, and everything in it, so beautiful, and it just gives a little tug at my heart. We collect so many of the same things, too. My favorite prints are anything pastoral, especially if it has sheep, goats or cows as part of the subject. I’m going to look for something like your piece of furniture holding the books, too. Is it painted in three different tones of teal? It’s hard to tell by looking at it here.

Enjoyed your tour and explanations of why you love the objects and art in your room. It felt very personal, and encouraging . The “Oyster Harvest” is one of the oil paintings on display in the Grohmann Museum at the MSOE in Milwaukee. The museum’s collection highlight the art of work. I found that painting and many other fascinating.

I can't believe you like tin cans. So do I and carousel horses. I had a lovely collection of House of Faberge carousel eggs. Someone broke into our home and all my years of collecting my treasures were gone. One day while in Williams Sonoma I saw a tin can with carousel horses on them. I gasped so loudly people stopped and stared🤭 You space is so charming and elegant. It's so me. I just enrolled in aromatherapy school so o agree learning is wonderful and one must develop new skills. Spencerian script, the best to you on that. That might be my next challenge. Thank you for sharing this space. It sung to my soul💗🌺
