      The burning question I have (coming from someone whose father passed away, that was a hoarder, now we (kids) have to deal with it) do you sale anything? If I was in the market to buy something you have, would you sale or is everything "a project"? I'm honestly curious cuz you got some super cool vehicles that deserve better then rusting away in a valley in Utah.
      I'm not trying to be an a hole or anything just curious.

      Over the course of this video, you see D's crew have that same epiphany. When Alan is explaining whats what down at the bottom, the guys were fucking off, kind've like an "ooookay bud" vibe. I think it clicked when Alan said he was working on that since 2001...and again with the tunnels...and again with using geothermal heating and cooling. Dude is a hippy mad scientist, a not-so-evil genius, and I'm stoked to see him a part of the crew.

      If he put that money in a garage and rare cars he'd have something to give to his family vs 150 duce and a halves. A bunch of garbage on top of a mountain (which continually burns down). @@dallasarnold8615 I agree he does have a few nice rides 90% of it will just continue rusting away. And knowing how hoarding works in willing to bet selling anything is of the table it'll just keep rusting.
      As far as what I've done with my life, I haven't blown millions of dollars on something that'll most likely not get finished, along with owning a junkyard worth of vehicles that some day my family will have to deal with. There's a massive difference between say all the stuff Dave had vs 75 duce and halves rusting away in a valley in Utah, I don't have 20 broken down 4 wheelers, I don't have 1000 used tires... they salt the roads in Utah half of those vehicles probably don't even have floorboards left in them.
      So in that respect no I don't own a ton of garage that as he said is something he can leave for his family and their families to keep building. I pray I never leave my family with that sort of burden.

Unless you were more than willing to go spend $30 on a scratch off from a gas station at that moment, thinking you were about to win 20k, you should have known you were making a bad decision. Heavy D endorsement on that is sad, I agree. But take it for what it is, enjoy the humanity in a lot of his videos, enjoy the content he posts, and try and see past the grifting he allowed himself to get tangled up in for financial gain. You got buggered, but brother, If you had waited longer than 5 minutes after the video and done your research to realize the sweepstakes was “NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER” you would have realized it wasn’t anything legit. Read a comment where somebody actually sent in a letter with return postage paid, and got a free entry and received a power box with confetti and a single crap baseball card. You literally spent $60 on a scam, you should have immediately known it was a scam, and sure heavy D promoted it, but so have every other major CZcamsrs that get approached by the company. I’m sorry it happened to you, learn from this, and don’t do it again. I saw from another of your comments that you obviously are broke and now living in hotel rooms, so you had no business gambling in the first place regardless if it was a fake scam or a real gambling scam anyways! Best of luck to you, but your wasting time on spamming comments on his grifting. I had one of the top comments on his initial P-Box video, urging people not to buy it and look at the fine print. I think it really depends on where you live, whether it be rural, urban or suburban. The area matters, and the people too.
      I grew up in rural utah and would never move back to my hometown on purpose. It was not a friendly place. It was a police state that likes to control your every action, and watch your every move. I now live in Denver (2 miles from downtown) and enjoy it a lot more. I find people to be more connected with not only nature here, but actual people too. People in rural areas tend to not like change, and if you stick out, you will notice. This is especially true in Utah.
      I think people in general are disconnected from reality, especially if they have spent their entire lives living one way.

    Alan is an absolute madman and I am here for it. If I was able bodied enough to build something like this I would love to try. But I know this kind of a project would put me in a wheelchair by the time I am Alan's age. It's crazy to see the work this man has done and the stuff he has acquired. I'm glad Dave hired him on and has been helping to keep him going, because projects like this deserve to be documented so they can go down in history.

      @adulfdabo898 Před 2 lety +18

      That's exactly what I thought.
      And then, if you have a closer look at what he already did...
      Some people need ten lifespans to finish half of this!
      He has to finish at least the buildings soon to keep them from just eroding and being damaged by nature (roof, windows etc...).
      Water and frost will do a bad job otherwise.

      @@adulfdabo898, I'm not that sure he really finished that much. He started the building like what 20 years ago? He started that mine museum, dug barely six feet in. He has a lot of broken vehicles etc. What did he really do? Maybe I didn't listen well, but I had the impression he starts a new project every week and loses interest quickly.

      @@medienkonsument4No rhyme or reason for it. I guarantee you, come back in 20 years and it will all look the same, unless he passes on and someone starts selling all this stuff. A lot of restorable car collectors do the same thing, hoard them, but don't restore them. Why is he storing it all on top of a barren hill in Utah? What ever..........

    This man is a treasure, we need more people to be like this guy. Grounded, real, intelligent, and able to just do something that he put his mind to. If ever shit hits the fan, this is the guy you want to be close with. Blown away by all of this. The land looks unforgiving and harsh, but humbles you in it's raw beauty. I know those bone yard vehicles are his babies, but if he were able to sell some of those babies he could get it dried in sooner. What am I saying? He'll never finish, he'll just keep rolling along. I really admire his spirit, and wish him well. Thanks for taking us along. 😀
