Gosh, I love that you are doing comparisons again. One thing that I have noticed for a lot of comparisons is that when the text is given, the source of them is underneath in a much smaller and less "bold" font. When I pause to look at them all, the name may be above the progress bar and youtube pops up a bunch of icons etc that obscure that text. It may just be my browser, but could you position the text above the swatch so that we can read it when paused? I love this palette. Since I unexpectedly got a bonus this year, maybe I will purchase it!

Thank you for commenting about the use of AI over an actual human artist. That's a very important aspect of makeup artwork that now needs to be part of reviews. Your swatches are excellent! Really, really helpful to see how shades look, what their base colors and undertones are and how the formulas look when moved around and spread out.

Your swatches are the best and most useful, as per usual, thank you. They make me see that many shades are not "cold" at all, and have either an undertone or, in the special shades, a reflect or shift, that is warm toned ( golden, yellow, rusty reddish, murky yellow green, etc).
I am both cool toned and high contrast, so warm - inflected shades that are also indistinct (i.e. super shifty) don't look great on me. I was all on board to buy Cold Moon, but now I'm leaning "No" despite the impressiveness of the shades in many other respects and the better price tag! Thanks, Milly, and happy holidays!

Never would have thought to pair gray and mauve, but I'm totally trying it now. I need to see the mattes swatched on deeper skin, but I may grab this one since it's cheaper than the others.

I SAY .. it's too shiny for me, but I also seem to have a lot of the clionadh and terra moons shades you showed in your comparison. I have a feeling I can build my own palette using viseart grand pro 1 and clionadh and terra moons singles. Steller review as always. It's such an intriguing brand but the cost is prohibitive and I don't want EVERY single shimmer to be that shimmery. I definitely want a mix of different kinds of shimmers: satins, metallics, shimmery, toppers, etc.

i come to you for hooded eye info lol--i want to try the brand but it seems like the shimmers will crease and move around on hooded eyes, even with a primer. what are your experiences and thoughts?
Milly do you have any updated opinions on the best holo shadows out there? I remember when TOG came out with holos they were better than those previously on the market. Are they all kind of the same now or are there some new standouts/top tier brands in your opinion?
I’ve tried many holos and imo Electrum cosmetics and Bella Beaute bar have the best ones. Much better than touch of glam and more affordable.

@badtothebrow what brush did you use for packing the flakey shadows on please? Love that you do still and live swatches, just getting into indie eye shadows but need a little help as my brushes don’t work with flake ones.
I think its the Rephr #2 brush. Maybe try natural hair brushes like that one. They seem to pick up more. Sonia G has great brushes too
I know they are totally different color stories, but I’m wondering if you prefer cold moon to lands of enchantment?
For everyday yes, I will get more use out of cold moon. But i loveeee lands of enchantment’s color story as well

I can’t see what brand the shade “indie” is which is compared to Saturnalia from the cold moon palette. I basically NEED another saturnalia and don’t know where to start with a dupe
It’s from Glamshop which is a Polish brand. Saturnalia is holographic so there is no exact dupe to it in terms of that
This is so pretty! But in general, I don't understand how glitters like this are different than pressed glitters in eyeshadow palettes, apart from the shifty shade range.
It scares me because the loose pigments are dust...so easy to get in the eye. I used them in the early 2000's.
And of course, it sold out ridiculously fast! Ensley Reign needs to do better! Especially because their Pre-Order time is sooo long. 8-10 weeks 🤯
Don't fall in love with this palette if you live in the UK! Ensley reign won't post to the UK, unless you buy from their Etsy shop. And in their Etsy shop you will find the prices are higher, no discount codes apply, and carriage is astronomical! £39 for one palette, £75 for two. So if you want two palettes that adds up to £234!! Sorry but no eyeshadow is worth that. Disappointed 😞
Beautiful swatches, as always. I think this color story and selection is so beautiful and I was super excited for this palette. Until I learned that the art ER used for the cover is AI. I think that using AI for palette designs is unethical because AI essentially steals from other people's artwork in order to compile a new imagine. The artists did not agree to have their art used in AI algorithms, nor are they getting compensated for it.
The second reason why I think it's unethical is that using an AI generated image for product design essentially takes away what could have been a paid job for an artist. As someone who was a freelance artist for many years and who has been stolen from a lot even before AI was a thing, I can no longer support the brand Ensley Reign for that reason.
I truly hope that the fact they're using AI will make others reconsider their purchase as well. Surviving as an artist is hard enough, even harder now that many opt to using AI instead of actually paying a human to design for them. Especially as a smaller indie brand where everything is self-made, ER should know better than capitalizing off of stolen art, in my opinion.
Ivy (faceforward) made a really good video talking about this issue that I recommend watching for those of you who may not ever have considered what difference it makes to use AI over an actual artist.
Did you just say $70??? I thought it got real muddy, real quick. Beautiful shades. But probably just placement. Shimmers are stunning.
I dont support ai art at all so this along with i dont do cool tones makes it an easy skip. There are tons are real artists who could make those images and make them better but brands no matter the size dont want to pay people for their work
I am not a fan of the outer packaging of this palette or the color story. The color story is similar to Natasha Denona's I need a nude but with more sparkly shadows and more cool toned. Both wouldn't work for my skin tone.
I bought this palette, after to see alot of rewieus! And definitely isn’t equal to one Natasha Denona. palette! by much! The quality of Natasha Denona is higher than all the rest of palettes, please don’t do those comparisons, the palette is okey, but the glitters are so big and look a little grotesque on the eyelid, I felt a little disapointed, and is expensive also the delivery.

Any interest in this pallet or brand went away for me when I realized they use AI art instead of paying an actual artist. AI art is theft. What a left-down.
I was just thinking to myself during the video that the packaging is beautiful but it has an AI art look to it. ☹️ I’m glad I’m getting better at spotting that stuff, it’s so insidious.
