Not to nitpick but it was over the span of 3 turns. Had anyone gone investigating for those 3 turns pete would have been screwed. He played the fog and it paid off allowing him to sneak by with no troops to guard.

I can only guess that Magenta slammed a cap and lost all his troops, which is why he had nothing but 1's across the board and a very small defense on his 1st cap. Bet he never thought in a million years he could have lost.
It's tough to say. I think he kept pushing his advantage into blue and green and they were able to counterattack and keep him in check. This is also how green was weak enough for me to take the kill and pivot
Wow that was an exciting turnaround. You were just holding out by stacking on your cap with Magenta being so strong. Good suspense waiting for Magenta to appear out of the mist and then you took Magenta! Great game.

Wow, your instincts were just amazing that game. The move on green and then magenta? No way in hell I'd have done the former, much less the latter. I'd have backed off when I saw the 44 stack in greens cap, but you correctly realized that it was likely your only chance to win and took the risk

I have the fixed classic game I play on Friday, the series where we're looking at every map one by one on Mondays and I'll do Eu caps once a week. This leaves me with four variable shows a week. I like the predictability.

Tournament yes and I find it more satisfying. It's not worth anything extra

In my opinion, taking smaller bonuses on EU advanced in the early game (and capping off around there to take those bonuses) is always the better play over capping off to guard Africa because it’s just way too big. Eg pink player here could get 12-16 troops by the second-third turn. If this was fixed you’d have no chance of catching up.
It wasn't fixed though. Pete talks about this in other videos; how bonuses is less important in progressive, and having lines to make kills is more important.
I have the most success capping to control a pocket and then taking bonuses on the other side of the map. This usually gives me troops early and vision late and in a pinch I can still stack on cap like this game.
@@taemyr Getting 12-16 troops by the third time minimises the importance of cards because you can kill people before they get a trade worth double figures.
@@TheKillPeteStrategy Fair enough. I'm only talking about this map in particular. Usually when I go for Africa the guy who gets UK/Greenland/France/Iceland kills me before I can do anything back.

Europe advanced is my favorite map. Shame you only play progressive. Fixed is better I think :)
