slowly drip feeding the idea to the masses that they will eventually sell the club

Kind of ruins their plans for the release of the show now that they gained automatic promotion. There's no jeopardy left. I guess they assumed they'd be in the playoffs.

It was the same with season 2 though and it didn't harm the viewing figures so I don't see it.

That's what it takes, lads, a Murican Hype Man in the Dressing Room and another Murican who knows SFA about Football, blames his fellow players, screams at them on the pitch, takes no accountability, Six weeks, yes, just 6 weeks, of training, to become the GREATEST goal keeper of all time!
    So It Begins!
In your hour long game that is stretched out to at least 3 hours, whereby you don't actually touch the ball down for a touchdown, unlike our Rugby where the ball is touched down for a Try, where the ball is rarely kicked with your feet in a game called Murican Foot ball, the four quarters of your hour long game, instead of being 15 minutes, last for 45 minutes, each interspersed with adverts, Defence on the field and off again, offence onto the field and other "Special" teams, flags on the play, timeouts, do you know how long the ball is in Play on average?
Eleven, 11, yes, ELEVEN minutes, that's it, done, that's your lot!
What a game! 11 minutes! Over three hours! This equals 6% of the time!

You make the mistake of thinking that the game is only being played when the ball is live. That’s not how American Football works. In actuality the game is played for about 2 hours out of the 3 hours and 12 minutes that an average NFL game takes to play. The average time a Soccer game is played is 55 minutes out of 90. So that’s a similar ratio.

Am I the only who hates it when Americans think Americans athletes could pick soccer and be world class. Soccer players have far higher level of dexterity than guys who play American sports because they are the best of a sport played by 2 billion people, rather than Grid Iron played by a few million people. The NBA is full of players like Embid, The Greek Freak and Doncic who wanted to be soccer players first and were nowhere near good enough to be professionals and so took up basketball. if Embid a soccer made man who grew up playing soccer and one of the best athletes in American sport is not good enough to be a soccer player, you can forget about A J Brown being a top player.
I remember the NFL used to have NFL players vs soccer players where they would get a soccer player and a NFL player and get them to compete against each other in soccer and NFL drills. They had Harry Kane a genuine top 20 soccer player the world against an NFL player Harry Kane smoked the NFL player in every challenge in all the soccer and NFL drills because the ability needed to be a top 20 soccer player is superhuman level and far more than needed to be an NFL player, because Kane is a top 20 player sport played by 2 billion people. And Kane isn’t even one of the most athletic players in soccer. The NFL were embarrassed by this so started picking complete mismatches to preserve their pride and hype for the NFL athletes, so started picking the smallest least athletic soccer players like Aguero and Modric to play against biggest best athletes in the NFL like JJ Watt to guarantee an NFL player win the challenge.

They make those statements because they see that when it comes to pure athleticism, the United States has the best athletes in the world. They also feel pretty confident because the sport of Soccer is not the sport that the best athletes choose to play when they are young, and yet the USMNT is a top 16 team in the world.
On the women’s side, it’s a sport girls actually care about playing, it’s no surprise that they end up winning multiple world cups. When the USA puts resources behind a sport they do really well.

I think that’s why he specifically said goalkeeper. You are running a marathon every time it’s a 90 minute match. American Football isn’t about that.
Goalkeeper requires less cardio but still requires extraordinary: reflexes, coordination, reach, no fear and power.
Which is why I think Rob was thoughtful in his answer.
