- New favorite writing experiment?? I would 1000% attempt this again, especially if I have nowhere to go next time. Either I way underestimated myself or perfectly gamed the system. YOU TELL ME.
The goal is simple: writing more words than you did the day before. How many days in a row do you think you could beat your previous day's word count??

First sprints are always the hardest. With my luck, I'd get overexcited and get like 6k on the first day and then I'd get LESS words each day 😂 My next writing experiment is to do a week of 12hr writing days in June because I really need to rewrite my debut novel in time to release a 10yr anniversary edition in August ❤

I've just seen your Cat Tarot cards. I wanted to let you know that I've been playing around with my vintage Motherpeace Tarot deck this morning. Sometimes my inner perfectionist critic makes me want to give up writing forever. In desperation, I took out my cards and asked them how I needed to change my attitude to writing. Guess which card came up … yes, the Fool, of course.
For me, the cards act as a door to my inner wisdom, or a mirror, or a magnifying glass … or a kick in the pants to start solving the real obstacles instead of running away. Deep down, I knew all along that I had to let go of the grim desire to write “good” or, even worse, “perfect”. I think being creative means trusting the process, enjoying it, being open to what happens …
Now I'm going to continue watching your great video. Grazie mille, mille, Kate! ✨
I like how every time you start a new project, there's a different process. I like that you take what has made sense and try new things. I've also found that, the more books I write, the more I outline first. Wouldn't call myself a planner, but I'm learning how to tell better stories and stories better.

I'm loving your flexibility about challenges and writing strategies. It's fun watching your videos over the years and using that inspiration to get my butt in the seat. Keeping it fun seems to be the actual best writing advice imo.

I like this challenge! like your 'stair step' writing challenge, but on a day scale. I feel like this video came at a perfect time- I haven't written in a bit or been able to attend one of your streams in like a week or more bc of work (I'm vicious scribbles over on Twitch), but I'm hopeful that tomorrow I'll be able to get some work in. And hopefully this will be a perfect way for me to challenge myself!
You're a better person than me. I would've purposely done about 100 words on day one and then gone up by like 50 per day all on purpose 😂

I got way too excited seeing you watch Game Changer lol. The Survivor episodes are some of my favorites. I’m going to suggest doing the beat the previous day’s word count challenge with my writing group.

Your videos are always inspiring. But I watch them in the evening, so instead of starting to write I go to bed. Not good for the word count.😂But I will definitely try this experiment for myself.

What writing program do you use to write your novels?
My guess is 8 days and then something will happen that will mean no or less writing time. OR forty days because you have been streaming a lot lately and maybe this experiment is why?
I swear I hadn't checked before I guessed! I try not to count words anymore, but I might try this when I'm back to drafting instead of editing
